Great idea! If I have any tri-tip left over from today's cook, I'm going to chop it up and stuff it in some burgers. Thx for the vid.

I've also ground Tri Tip up for burgers, but it needs a bit of fat so, naturally, I added bacon :)

I'm not sure I could have saved any of those short ribs to put on a burger the next day but that looked awesome! I hope Russell tries again because you are both coming up with some great looking burgers. Take care Ry

It's a really nice cut to smoke because it just loves that low and slow to tenderize :)

Wow. That looks amazing. I am not a cheese guy but for some reason a nice slice of smoked cheese, swiss or cheddar, looks like it would go so well on that burger.

Cooking With Ry - I do understand. That one of the reasons I say I am not a cheese kind of guy. My issue isn't severe and I don't want it to be so I don't push it.

Cooking With Ry - Oh man. I have had it that way. Amazing is an understatement. I was lucky enough to have got a piece that didn't have much cheese in it but man it was great. And this coming from a guy married to a Sicilian. Seems like everything she wants to cook had cheese in it. LOL

I'm thinking, put a light smoke on the oxtail, and ribs, and a nasty ole chuck roast or whatever, but do not cook them(maybe just the ribs). Then run them all through the grinder and combine with some spg or whatever you like. Your burger looked ( and I'm sure tasted) very good, but more like a meatloaf lol :) I like ones I can actually get in my mouth without a shoe horn:) Yours wasn't too bad, but some of those mile high abominations might as well be eaten with a fork as on the first bight, half the sh!t falls out of the bun anyway :) and you are absolutely right......there is no such thing as too much bacon.
