I tend to think his wife knew as well and that their marriage was ‘contractual’ in place of romantic. She was willing to put up with his vices as long as she could reap the benefits of his enormous earnings. The only ones I feel sorry for are his two daughters, but tbh, they don’t seem to mind all that much. Crazy world.

Some minister. People saying it is normal to deny your sons crime. What is not normal is to deny it in the face of overwhelming evidence. In the case of the Unibomber’s family, when they realized it was the son and brother, they reported their suspicions. This was no less painful for them, but they served the greater good and knew he had to be stopped. But this so-called man of God and his wife, clearly have proved themselves to be the most unGODlike and hypocritical. There seems to be no sorrow that their innocent little grandchildren and their mother were annihilated by their son. What a pathetic lot they are

He wanted to leave her and the wife was not willing to let him go. In no way I condone his actions and violence toward her and the 2 kids. The friend even indicates "she refused to give him the divorce and she said if anything happened to her he did it." wow! why be with a man that she knew can harm her and consequently affect her children's life. There are some battles you have to walk away for your own wellbeing and welfare of your love ones and in this case the most vulnerable; the children. Both were head on in this fight and at the end was total destruction; the wife did not want the divorce; he was set on leaving her and the kids behind and at the end no one was willing to walk away from this battle with their loses (him leaving her and losing his job and the wife accepting his abandonment and moving on with her children) instead complete destruction: death and life sentence.

It doesn’t matter if she wanted to give him a divorce or not. The courts can’t force you to stay married. Every state recognizes no fault divorces and even in a fsult divorce the court isn’t going to block the divorce they’ll just deny granting an at fault divorce.

@@kintsukuroi6300 I know why, because my own mother refused to divorce my father, who cheated, beat her black and blue, and almost choked her to death. He did not abuse my brother or me. She read in the Bible that God hates divorce. She was willing to keep being a faithful, loving wife, who prayed for her husband. She finally gave him a divorce, after he had knocked up his teenage beer garden companion for the second time. He wanted to marry her. My mother then gave him the divorce, asked him to get help, and to be a better husband and father to that family. He married her. After the marriage, they had a third child. But, guess what? Turns out that she had cheated on him! Neither the second, nor the third child were his. She left him. Funny how things work out. My mother just believed in obeying Scripture.

This should be a cautionary tale for women refusing to leave a horrible marriage -- if you tell someone "If something happens to me, my husband did it." LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. Abused women need to put their health & safety over financial stability & their reputations. If not for yourself, do @ least for your children.

@asincerewoman
@asincerewoman 6 ай бұрын
That might have worked in this case, but just a reminder that often the most dangerous time for a woman in an abusive relationship is when she takes steps to leave. (FYI: Pregnancy is also a dangerous time for women in terms of partner violence.) Had she left, she would have faced many serious difficulties and hardships, and so would the kids, so I understand why women sometimes don't leave. Rather than putting the responsibility on the victim to leave, I prefer to focus on the fact that the violent person has the responsibility to stop their violent behavior. All the guilt is squarely on the murderer here. Awful story. We need to do better teaching people that violence solves nothing. It simply creates additional problems, ones that are often much worse than the original ones. Perhaps most importantly, we need to improve our mental health system and education so that people can recognize issues and get help before these tragedies happen.

They're called family annihilators. Usually do so to start a new family but occasionally do so to 'protect' their family from a great evil. Most are male but a few women family annihilators exist. Almost all also have a strong religious component involved as well. Whether Christian, Mormon or some other type of spiritualism which justifies their choice rationalizing heaven is a better option than whatever hell is on its way. Very disturbing and fascinating type of killer but not gender exclusive. Though there is a strong link between men and violence mostly because societal views of masculinity justify types of violence and even glorify it. Think of soldiers at war or a policeman on duty or even a father protecting his daughter or wife from an assault. Meanwhile feminine violence is rarely glorified and is instead looked down upon or even laughed at.

@@RalphJones-oy7te I agree. If the husband was really innocent, he would have not gotten a threat like that and go on living his normal life. And why would he be spared unless he was the murderer or he knew the killer? And, on top of that, no killer is going to warn someone about killing his family if they're actually going to do it! If I was on scene at that time I would immediately be suspicious of the husband.

Plus, he obviously didn't love the boys and he'd have to visit with them or "look bad" to family and friends. Plus, I'm sure her life was insured....and also maybe the boys. I had homeowners insurance where if I or my wife were to die, the mortgage gets paid off. He wants the fresh start, money, his new woman and all the sympathy. You should read more about the crime scene in that home. The forensic examiner said it would have taken at least 4-5 minutes to sit there, looking into his wife and babies' eyes, holding the garrote around their throats as he choked the life out of them. More heinous than any human being can fathom, he then spray painted "f@#k you" across his little boy's blanket. This is not selfishness or rage; this is as unadulterated, personified evil as can be found this side of Hell.

Like they'd usually leave a note saying "stay away from my wife" or "vote against the bill" or whatever. I've just not once heard of threats of this style ever being real. Because they don't make sense for a real person to make and it doesn't make sense that the victim can't figure out who it is etc. The person is always a mysterious no one because they're made up I'm sure it could happen one time or whatever that's why this doesn't mean anything, I'm just saying the odds against it are phenomenally high. So many parents refuse to see that evil lurks in the hearts of humans, especially their precious children. I have seen this over and over even in young kids. Twenty four years ago I was camping with my young daughter, aged 3, and a friend with her son, aged 11. This boy was vicious. This (former) friend would say things like, “Timothy wouldn’t do that.” Then her son backhanded my little girl, splitting her frenulum from her lip and causing my daughter to bleed all over. Why? He claimed he wanted my daughter’s ball, but the truth was he was jealous because his mother was paying attention to my child and braiding her hair. The mother’s response? “Timothy, that was mean.” I was done! Her dog had also bit my daughter in the face simply because she was standing with a cupcake in her hand. The dog bit, at least 4 other children, too, but this woman just babied the dog. So many just refuse to take responsibility. Their “babies” can do no wrong. It disgusts me.

I think that Chris’s parents know deep down that he did it, but their pride and shame is what is keeping them from admitting it.

Denial is one of the stages of grief, and it is very common to linger in one stage for years or even decades. It's natural and expected. Yet you say that like it's a character weakness for the parents? Maybe read a rudimentary psychology book before bashing people for their human nature next time.

@@Adelicows I agree, it is understandable,allthough frustrating. I think most of us would be in denial.

The way he laughed when answering the question “if it wasn’t you, who”, speaks volumes to me. He says “I’ve been racking my brain for two and a half years hahah” then proceeds to say “I had to give it to God and forgive that person.” Because he knows it was him!

Exactly, then he is laughing then says "forgive that person and move on." This monster has clearly accepted he is bunking and showering with Big Bubba for the rest of his miserable life.
