the updated Winged Eagle belt introduced when Austin won the title from Shawn Michaels in 98 is my favorite design, personally. I also love the Smoking Skull belt but I guess that doesn't really count. fun fact: the Rock had his own Brahma Bull world belt made but it was never used on TV, so I think Austin was the only one who had a custom made world title that was actually used on TV and even part of a storyline.

Big Gold Belt (NWA- WCW) and the winged eagle belt held by Hogan, Randy Savage, The Undertaker, Bret Hart ,Shawn Michaels and SCSA ( for 1 day) are the 2 most beautiful belt designs ever. Even the old IC belt hed by Warrior, Savage and the NWA WCW US Heavyweight belts were really good.

Its called advertising. If any of WWE's champions are doing an interview or a public appearance there is a big WWE logo on the belt so any and everyone can see exactly who they work for and are representing. It isnt the best looking title but you get used to it. It also doesnt matter what it looks like. Its what the title represents that matters. If your a good enough champion, you can make any title look good.

I think the Big Logo belts were designed with kids in mind. Easier for a 6YO to draw that belt than it is a traditional belt. Easily recognisable what belt means what with the colours. Just better of marketing to kids. Hopefully with the move away from that era, they will start making the belts look better.
