I was a regular reader of Hot Rod Magazine in the 70's when the van craze was at it's peak, and I remember clearly the Yamahauler conversion series. Memories!!

That Vixen is one amazing looking mini RV and those back lights, it looks like it was taken out of a Chevette. LoL 😁

That drive over that bridge is absolutely epic. It's been a decade since I was out that way, so I forget the name of it... but I hope I never forget that drive. ... By the way, that trip in the Vixen campervan had to be a blaaast!! I'm sure that slog down the white road was a little sphincter clenching 😬, but damn what fun. Respect.

Damn. Portland is so freaking cool. I spent a couple epic months there, longer ago than I care to admit, and always wondered what it would be like in. Perhaps I may still find out someday. 🤔

Saw one of those Vixens for sale at a car dealership back around 1987 or 88 and never forgot it! Not exactly the type of vehicle a 10-year old would normally find interesting, but that one sure was. Cost CAN $35,000, I believe. It was fancier than this one, though, with some pinstriping and fancier wheels, like the one below (but still not top trim level)... i.pinimg.com/originals/80/cc/19/80cc19ab9dece8035fa06edc46c39634.jpg

honestly, I usually am not a fan of american cars, but no matter what episode, you can't just refrain from smiling and actually taking a liking to the presented cars. As always, good job on showing us some quirky fun rides

Us cars had style , genius ideas & creativity . Its hard not to like them
@hypnotised-clover6 жыл бұрын
Bluehopi Waltz Alot of american cars performed poorly and the style isnt appealling to most europeans, the overuse of chrome, exagerated grilles, pointlessly big and thirsty engines, odd wheel choices and size are what most people dont like about them, it's also the same thing that alot of people do like them
@BlueHopi1446 жыл бұрын
Dont come with the " they can't handle corners and they are ugly styling wise " because that comes from someone who is not a fan of that era . Ford dominated Le Mans in the 60's ( u probably dont have much Us car history in your either - so its easy to forget those Major Breakthroughs )and i see the New Mustang been sold more than the new VW Golf . So many have watched movies like " Bullit " so they knew the value of the Us cars . The design surpassed anything Europe could bring - except for a few Aston's , Ferraris or Bugatti's . Many European designed cars even went to buy Chrysler engines to put into their cars . Its time for u to get informed about why those cars are still amazing . If u are not a fan , sorry .
@TheChill0016 жыл бұрын
ford dominated lemans, yessiree... the GT40, that one's still a fave on my US car shortlist. But technically he's correct though, US brands even admitted it, simply because in the US there's less need for cornering than in the average european country. Also the mustang only outsold in the US... not the rest of the world. As for saying ALL american cars can't handle, that's a false statement, but in general it's just a matter of needs. Also just to point one thing out: they had american engines, but euro engineering...like oh...the legendary AC Cobra (also known as Shelby cobra)

If this was last year, it drizzled all day in Long Beach. So I went to Seaside instead where it was nice and sunny. The only problem was that the car count at both shows was low because everybody was scared away by the weather forecasts. One of the challenges of putting on car shows in the NW.
