Pym particles started off in a gas form, then they were turned into a pill which Hank would take different ones when he wanted to either grow or shrink. He then went back to gas kept in his helmet. I think he does have some deodorant cans which Deadpool stole, used on Rhino and turned him into a key chain. It does have a limited life span as when Hawkeye was Goliath at the end of the Kree Skrull war he ran out and became Hawkeye again. I don't know how it works these days though.

know it's been 6 years but yeah, I can explain it's ridiculously complicated, basically long term exposure will allow the body to actively make the particles, so sooner or later you can just do it. Most ant-men and their family can do it without using the gas and pills devices

I think the problem people have is that they are new to reading Cyclops. They only know him from the show or post M-Day. Before you could say this fits his more boyscoutty persona. Now, and really since this story, he has been 100% in the corner of do whatever it takes for mutants and mutant rights. Which is pretty much why AvX happens and he becomes a "Mutant Terrorist." Pym Particles once existed in a liquid form, so applying certain dosages on objects or himself would result in a pre calculated size outcome for a certain amount of time. Later, Pym was able to synthesize Pym Particles into a gaseous form for quick shrinking results with inhalation so he created the Ant-Man Suit to allow him to control his size at will.....but who cares it's Ant-man lol

I never read this when it came out largely because of the title. But it does raise one issue I have with Marvel, it needs to lay ground rules for how character's behave and their basic character traits. I've been reading X-men since the late 70's and Scott has changed so much since Morrison's run I barely recognize him anymore.
