I remember back when I first reverted I immediately started doing 5 prayers a day and ngl it felt weird at first, especially when having been an atheist for so long you try to connect to the Creator and it’s not easy at first. But then iman enters your heart and man it does wonders, words cannot explain how I felt. Also, four wives and Faiyad’s freakin brown sweater 😎

It was 50 prayers that we were supposed to pray, but Allah put it down to 5, and each prayer is counted as 10. So 5x10 is 50, were still getting the benefits of 50 prayers even though we are only praying 5, this is the mercy of Allah.

When you talked about dopamine detox, I was thinking about fasting. Back than they had no technologies so the only source of dopamine was food and sex, which is obviously not allowed during fasting period.So a modern day detox is basically the non religious approach to resetting your mind which Allah tells us thousand of years ago in the quran. And that for 30 days will definitely have huge benefits for body, mind and soul. Subhanallah

*I’m a statistical type of guy.* I jumped from 0 to 5 immediately by using an app to count tallies. I love visually seeing the numbers and whatever I’m doing. I count how many Rakats I perform, I count how many Salahs I complete and I count how many times I perform Wudhu. The app automatically graphs it on a bar graph for me and I look back on all I’ve done and it motivates me to keep doing good. The Salah becomes so habitual that I forget to mark it down sometimes and I still feel good every time after I finish.

“When one of you yawns, then let him hold his hand over his mouth, for indeed, the Shaitaan [otherwise] enters Ahmad related the Hadeeth thus: “When one of you yawns during prayer, then let him place his hands over his mouth, for verily, the Shaitaan enters with a yawn.” [Related by Muslim(2995), Ahmad (10930), Abu Daawood (5026), and Ad-Daarimee (1382)] One can suppress a yawn by controlling one’s mouth, making an effort not to allow it to open; by putting pressure on one’s lip with one’s teeth; by placing one’s hand or garment over one’s mouth; or by doing something similar to achieve the same effect.

11:10 also its maybe an interesting point to look at salah this way brothers and sisters: imagine you want to show gratefulness to somebody you like, and you are going to make that person a present for an example..so are you going to buy a present which, you like or would you rather buy something which that person like? obviously the answer is clear right.. so ALLAH wants us to connect to HIM, show gratefulness, 5 times through salah so we should do our best to do that. And if you are struggling..make dua! that HE May Help you,strengthen you, bring you ease.If your heart is present in your dua and you are patient while you try, and trust that HIS Help is always close you will see the benefits :)

Thats a big reason why we always recite surah Al Fatiha in every unit of the prayer.

Asalamalkium! As a girl myself I understand your perspective regarding how men in islam are allowed to have 4 wives. That being said if you take Prophet Muhammed (SAW) as an example of what a man's responsibility is regarding marriage then you would understand how Prophet Muhammed(SAW) during his marriage with Kadijah (RA) was the best husband to her ever. He full-filled all of her rights and exceeded his role as a husband. Vice Versa Khadijah (RA) was an excellent wife towards Prophet Muhammed (SAW). However, like brother anghel mentioned that there are rules regarding the ability to marry upto 4 wives. For example, if a man can provide for all of his wives and if he can treat them equal in the eyes of Allah then it is permissible. That being said, Prophet Muhammed (SAW) did not marry the other wives at the same time as his first wife. Instead when she passed away then he remarried other women who were in state of men dependency and so on forth . Hence, if a women is a widow then is this an excellent example which would allow a man to marry another women in order to support/provide for her. Therefore, I agree with your opinion regarding the quantity of women is higher compared to the men, which Allah (SAT) has than allowed the marriage of a men upto 4 wives under the conditions mentioned above. However, in the same time there are some men who violate this right of theirs and exploit it. They take the Quran as an example and threaten or blackmail their wives and claim that 'they will marry another women" if the wife makes a mistake etc. Some men also use it as a weapon against women who are unable to conceive. Instead, of looking at solutions such as adoption or telling the first wife and coming into an agreement regarding a second marriage in order for the men to carry out his lineage they marry behind their wife's back. The list can go on and on regarding how men misuse the right of marriage. Thats why many women dislike the idea of a husband being able to marry upto 4 wives when the husband is unable to withhold his farz in the first marriage. Therefore, women and men especially should be educated regarding this topic of marriage and how there are rules regarding the ability to do so.

Yeah I agree with all this. Again though, if the woman is 100% for the man and the man is 100% for her, then by all means, monogamy is the way. But if the women doesn't give 100% when the man is giving 100%, I'd see that as grounds for an introduction of a 2nd wife. Hello Polygyny. - T3M Anghel

If all our prayers are for achieving paradise , then when/how are we going to thank Allah for the favour of this world. I do not worship Allah out of the fear of His Hellfire, because this is the worship of a slave or out of hope for His Paradise; because this is the worship of a trader , rather I worship Him out of love for Him and out of being obedient to him and because he deserve to be worshiped.

I’m a bit shocked that you guys always have to explain why you’re Pro-Polygyny... As someone who _used_ to be a self-proclaimed Feminist, I can attest and speak for other Muslimahs, and say that adopting and following Western Feminist ideologies lead one down the road of apostasy. Point blank period. Another Muslimah might be reading this and be like: Huh? But it’s important to note that I said _”Western Feminist ideologies”_ . Western Feminism, is essentially made by, and for White women only. And not only that, but it goes _against_ many of the laws and regulations within the Islamic Shari’a, so truly it has been, and never will be a movement for *all* women. Furthermore, Islam not only supports but *created* the Idealistic Feminist ideologies, aka the way women truly deserved to be treated, and the rights they should have. We, as Muslimahs do not _need_ to label ourselves, when our Deen has already given us these rights, when the Lord of the Worlds Himself gave us these rights. Also genuinely, anyone who is looking at what Allah has made permissible, and finding ways to deem it “immoral”, while calling themselves Muslim, is in big trouble. Allahu Musta’aan.

Can any of you recommend a great English translation of the Quran? I’ve neglected my faith and want to dedicate time to come back to it
@IbnMurrah3 жыл бұрын
Well, if you want to understand what the Arabic words mean from a rough translation, you should read Sahih International. It has the English words and phrasing in the same exact order as the Arabic words. The easiest one to understand if you just want to read through it is The Clear Qur’an by Dr. Mustafa Khattab. Look at the difference of Surat Maidah, Verse 27. *Clear Qur’an:* Relate to them in truth ˹O Prophet˺ the story of Adam’s two sons-how each offered a sacrifice: Abel’s offering was accepted while Cain’s was not. So Cain threatened, “I will kill you!” His brother replied, “Allah only accepts ˹the offering˺ of the sincerely devout. *Sahih International:* And recite to them the story of Adam's two sons, in truth, when they both offered a sacrifice [to Allah ], and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. Said [the latter], "I will surely kill you." Said [the former], "Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him].

if we need to pray 5x a day then what about all the other believers of different religions, ideologies who have different ways of worshipping God and do connect to God and don't pray 5x a day? this is what confuses me.
@The3Muslims3 жыл бұрын
They are all trying to do the same thing.. connect with God. Some have decent ways of doing so, others not so much. The problem is the struggle with the ego and making it step down. A lot of other religions/ideologies either fail to do this or only do a decent job. For example, in Buddhism they meditate a lot. This is great because it increases your awareness/presence and allows you to be able to put the ego aside but often time it takes years of experience in their meditation to achieve this and/or hours of meditation each day just to be able to achieve this. So as you can see, they have a good method but not optimal. In Islam, the method is complete/optimal. The 5 prayers make you stop everything you're doing for 'x' amount of time and completely put your ego aside to worship the Creator. This doesn't take years to master nor hours to do. And a huge benefit is if you meditate everyday for at least 15-30 minutes + do your 5 prayers, you'll be able to be fully present during all the prayers which is a gamechanger. If you can be fully present during salat, there is nothing that will connect you more with God than that. - T3M Anghel

@@The3Muslims but why would God give half of his people a complete system and let the other half practice inferior methods? other religions came from God too right?
@The3Muslims3 жыл бұрын
It's not that God gave them an incomplete system, it's that the people f'd it up at some point. It's essentially the telephone game. You say one thing to someone and they keep passing it on until they get to the last person. If the last person messes up what has been originally said, game over and then you start again. That's what's been happening since the beginning of time. God has been trying to relay the full message for a long time but it kept getting altered in one way shape or form (blame our egos for this). Each time it get's altered, it's game over and on to the next person/people to relay the message to. If you begin to study all religions/ideologies/mythologies/cultural beliefs/etc. They all have patterns but more importantly, they all have pieces of the puzzle. Some more than others. Which mean that those that have more pieces of the puzzle made it further before it was altered. Once altered though, the message stops being relayed and anything that comes after that is the mind trying to fill in the blanks with outlandish things for the most part. From all my studies, Islam is the only one with all pieces of the puzzle. Which makes complete sense since it was never altered meaning that the message was fully relayed. It even says it in The Qur'an in Surah Al-Ma'idah Verse 5:3 "...This day have I perfected for you your religion, and completed My blessing upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion..." Seek the answers for yourself and you'll find them. - T3M Anghel

It was 50 prayers, not 500 originally Rami habibi. Also Anghel habibi, you can make Dua in certain places like in sujood (after saying Subhana rabbiyal 'Ala [roughly transliteration, but I think you may know what I mean]) Allah is above the heavens Faiyad habibi. When u quoted the verse about Allah being closer to you than your jugular vein, it is in reference to in His Knowledge. In front of Allah is just like meaning he is observing you. The hadith you quoted about the Allah being the third means He is observant and not physically there on earth, He is still above the heavens and above His throne. It is like how the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said when he was asked what is Ihsan, “Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see him, for if you do not see him, he surely sees you.” Allah mentions many places in the Quran that He is above the heavens and about Him rosed over his throne. This is just sincere advice brothers. Please heart this if you see this.

Also there is the hadith on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked the slave woman where is Allah and she said in the heaven or something like that and the Prophet(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) affirmed it and called her a believer.

Something that’s been bothering me whilst studying Islam is the capital/corporal punishment views. Would it not be better if you forgive people especially for minor things such as adultery.

They should invite Daniel Haqiqatjou for this topic. Maybe you should watch his debate with an atheist about Shariah Law. Adultery is actually a very damaging crime and It’s been so normalized in the west. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqrIf3mohL-Hiac

Yes, I’m sure it’s very damaging however it does not justify killing someone.

@@jackieman9374 according to which sense of morality? Can you prove objectively that it should be forgotten and something like murder should be punished with capital punishment only?

Most people are good at heart. People do terrible things but I don’t think ive met someone who is straight up evil. For example people who have done adultery deserve a second chance at life. Killing them actually makes you just as worse since you are causing just as much suffering, especially for their family. People who murder should spend their life in prison to reflect on their mistakes. Overall God will decide their afterlife.
