This man didn't take care of his locs. You don't have to have buildup. I know. I wore locs for 11 years. I went to the shop when the locs needed tightening. I washed in-between shop visits. I used apple cider vinegar + to get rid of buildup. Locs need to be taken care of just like all other hair styles.

Thank you!! I know that this is a misconception and stereotype that people generally get about locs. Just because it’s styled in a different formation doesn’t mean it can’t be maintained and clean as other loose hairstyles. It’s all about education and actually wanting to maintain them.
