Shield pack was patched early this morning. That being said I ditched the railgun for the arc thrower last night on bugs. I was shocked how good it is. Arc for mobs and thermite for biles and chargers.

Throw on the X-BOW too which leaves your pistol open for utility (like dagger to get chaff off of teammates or the new stim-pistol). Plus you get to carry objectives because it's one-handed. Have been running this setup with arc-thrower pretty much non-stop since the update!

​@@epsilon1372I wouldn't say they are easier. They are easier to kill sure, but they are more lethal now. Looks like they are more aggressive (I think their walking speed is sped up a bit) and they do more damage. One new thing I found the first match, immediately, is that they actually... Retreat? At least the alphas. Had them running away while hunters would push me and then come back with their crews, just to be deleted in a few shots of autocannon. Hunters would always do at least half health from the front and chargers and impalers consistently one shot me with light armor. And stalkers either one shot or do some much damage that a head impact against a rock or the ground would insta kill me as well It's exactly as I hoped the game to be, easier to kill enemies but a bit more lethal, like Helldivers 1. One last thing I hope they improve is penetration, with machine guns and assault rifles going through 3 bodies for light pen, 5 for medium pen and 9 for heavy machine gun. It would add some more tactical planning on positioning, not just high ground for explosive ammo and grenades. Would also be a nice buff to the heavy machine gun for crowd control, giving more reasons to go prone with machine guns cuz right now crouched and standing still is way better

Honestly I like the normal guard dog over the rover it just pops the little guy so well. It doesn’t kill you as often as the rover, and ever since they have it ammo back from the ground I feel as if it just does better. You should give it a try.

I’d recommend a crossbow or eruptor for that loadout so if you ran out of 500kg you can still use a primary to deal decent damage to charger butts or bile titan sacks

Arc thrower for almost everything Thermite for bile titans and chargers Crossbow for bug holes and spewers (when moving) Dagger for small bugs (when moving) I actually run fire resistance armor to prevent the rover from setting me on fire.

Could be the game is random af. It's one of the thigns I don't like about the game, you can play a game and play well but get absolutely killed. Next game it could be a walk in the park on same difficulty. I feel the random spawning is a fundamental problem in this game.

Thats Helldivers 2. The difficulty is incredibly random. I've played 8s harder than 10s. Just yesterday I played a full lobby diff 10 and out of every single bug breach came 3 Titans, 2 Impalers, countless Behemoth, Standard and Spore Chargers.

The key to throwing ordinance shells well is you have to be walking foward. Press pickup > switch weapon half a second later. You can watch your squat to get the timing down

I like running the crossbow with the arc because it’s SO good at taking out bug holes and also good against charger butts. Then you can bring the flame pistol or something to kill anything that gets too close

Tbh I didn’t know that the reinforcement of enemies increase once you finish the main missions.. this explains a lot. I tend to finish main missions first to ensure it’s complete before I waste my lives on secondary ones 😂

You should definitely try the arc against bots with the Thicc Boi Armor. Pair it with the shild generator pack and you literally feel like a juggernaut against the bots. It became one of my favorite builds because you stay on the front stunning anything that looks at you and your teammates rain down fire on them. It deals a lot of damage too, I usually get the most kills on a mission. And it stuns Hulks as well so it's perfect.

Arc Thrower is amazing now. I used it along with Blitzer since Escalation of Nerf dropped so this buff feels perfect. Arc Thrower still struggles with some objects on the map. E.g. if you're ever at the Shrieker nest, there is usually a sign covered with yellow vines. You cannot shoot any bug next to that sign. Arc Thrower continuously shoots at it. Similar weirdness can occur in any base with random objects. The best tactic is to keep moving, of course.

Some gameplay tips, for that heavy nest you could have used a 500kg to take out a bunch of nests at a time. Saved a lot of time there. Should have summoned a resupply early too.

On the bugs side, at least, radar stations and seaf artilleries will not repeat. Additionally, the "given" side objectives (escape pod, mutant larva/enemy bioprocessor, rogue research station, illegal broadcast) cannot be a hidden objective - either you get its location on drop, or it doesn't exist. You can definitely have four of the same (four stalker lairs, for example, have happened and are painful). I'm not sure if you can have five - that depends on how many side objectives you get on super helldives without the given side objective (again, on the bugs side, that would be the nuke nursery, flag, and blitz missions, which only give you the main objective at drop).

yes man ive been waiting for this. i just take 500kg, rail cannon, sheild pack and arc thrower and it can deal with anything arc thrower is absolutely insane. i disagree with the napalm barrage because the arc thrower is all you need for hordes, i also run the breaker because it feels much better in a pinch when you need to get a bug or two off you when ur arc isint charged up, leaving the only problems to be chargers

What kind of Arc loadouts would you suggest against bots? Thinking this could pair well with smoke to chunk away at bot drops and maybe some EATs to deal with striders and tanks a bit faster but haven't gotten around to trying all that just yet. Maybe MG turret or a primary to deal with gunship patrols. Your blitzer vs bugs videos are some of my personal favorites.

You should really really try the flame thrower it can kill bile titans and impaler with 1 canister it's amazing... The breaker spray and pray is really really good against bugs now too it's become my main primary for bugs it's really good against all small bugs and surprisingly stalkers

29:35 - I joined a random blitz helldive and got absolutely pumped by stalkers. Got to the Debrief and it revealed 4 stalker lairs as optional objectives and all of us went "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wtf". Still waiting to see if a Super Helldive will bless me with 5 stalker lairs... can't wait to hit them with the blitzer arc thrower wombo combo now that it stuns again! :D

Try the crossbow takibo please. Its absolutely bonkers against automatons. Its a semi auto pre patch eruptor with even more damage. I literally use it against all enemies besides hulks and tanks and it takes out entire patrols in 2-3 shots

I have this strange love/hate relationship with the arcthrower. For an electric weapon, it feels incredibly powerful and satisfying to use, but gameplay with it is also very one dimensional, and I quickly get bored while using it. Since it is effective against basically every bug, there are little to no actual tactical decisions to be made. The only consideration that's needed is to pay mind to possible connections to teammates.
