I continue my "How to Twirl a Baton" channel with the "Novice Baton Twirling" series by teaching my version of a two hand front spin. This move is great for new twirlers as it helps with hand eye coordination, since it uses both hands, and speed. This trick will also build up to more difficult twirls when you are learning to twirl. I go over this move step by step making sure to go over proper body work and technique.

I barely have the time either. I work full time, I teach several hours of baton a week, I spend about 10-15 hours a week working on my channel, I am a newlywed, and I just purchased a house. I love giving back to the twirling community with FREE twirling tutorials. I wish there was something free like this when I was younger!

Kudos for making the time! The only reason I commented is that I care deeply about baton and its future, not because I think my way is the only way, but because the standard for a "correct" two hand spin in my area is different from the two hand spin you teach.

I'm glad you make these tutorials; I don't have the time. I had to scroll down in the information panel to see that it is your version of these twirls. Just curious: Is that how you learned a two hand spin or is it your own version? I believe it'd be good to teach new 2-4 year old twirlers, but IMHO it's still not a true two hand spin.

....As long as the baton is moving on pattern without a break or a drop, and you are using good technique, at least with this twirl, then I think it will be okay! Maybe I will teach the way you like to do this twirl in the future! Either way, I say as long as the baton is in your hand and you are practicing baton twirling then you are awesome! Twirl on!!

Your "around the world" is nothing like I learned it or called it . . . and I didn't comment because the pattern and technique are correct! Uniformity is important for teams, so yes! according to team teachers, twirls are "right" or "wrong." Don't even get me started about USTA/WBTF compulsories . . . There is a right way to do every twirl in that system!!!
