Thanks for this video. For anyone watching, BEFORE YOU TAKE THE BATTERY TERMINALS OFF, move the seat all of the way to the front AND all of the way up. The battery will slide right out without you having to twist it to the side.😊

Great video. I will add once the power is reconnected it will likely trigger the SGM (security gateway monitor) in the vehicle thus losing many functions like backup camera, temperature controls, passenger heated seats, and Uconnect will lose half the features. I’m called Uconnect, they were clueless. The solution is patience. Everything came back within a few hours good as it was. Might take longer for yours, but from what I’ve researched it’s extremely common.

If you wanna make it easier the youcan get to the positive cable VERY easy by sliding the sea back and coming in from the front seat, it puts you directly over the top of the post with no obstructions. Then slide the seat forward again and get the battery out from the rear.

Thanks good tip!

This has gotta be a joke. If you slide the seat back and remove the positive battery terminal you will have no power to the car to slide it forward to get the battery out the rear. Sadly a lot of people will fall for this as they are not very mechanical and watching this to save a buck.
@EvilB0oBerry69Ай бұрын
You take the pressure off the nut but leave it connected to the post so you just have to pull it up and off after you move the seat genius🤣

@2qwk please tell me you're just being a troll? Great video, unless you have a 2018 Grand Cherokee, because it is not this straightforward. You have to remove the auxiliary battery first, to even get to the bracket, and there are two places to remove the breather tube, as opposed to one. You have to remove the bracket, before you remove the positive cable, as the battery is so far forward, you cannot get to the nuts on the terminal cable, as they are under the lip of the battery compartment. The good thing about this, is once you get the bracket out, you can slide the battery back to expose the positive terminal, and then move the seat all the way back, and remove the positive cable for the front. Hope this helps if you have a 2018 Grand Cherokee.

So 3 days ago, my 2022 Grand Cherokee wouldn’t start and I had to have it towed to the dealer. BTW, you can’t shift out of park when the engine isn’t running, so you have to locate the secret manual transmission override that will put your Jeep in neutral (hint: it’s not in the user manual, but you can find a YT video describing the process). Anyway, the main battery was fine, but the auxiliary battery failed. After it was replaced, good as new. I was confused because my understanding was the auxiliary battery was just used for the start-stop function and was not involved with the starter. So, apparently this is true…except the auxiliary battery has one other function: powering many of the relays that have to be triggered to inform the Jeep’s computer it’s safe to start the engine. No power to these relays, no engine start. Again, not in the user’s manual. Actually, the Jeep Grand Cherokee user manual doesn’t even mention the batteries, what they do or where they’re located. There’s also not one word in the manual about jumping a Jeep with a dead battery. Apparently, you connect your jumper cable to the positive (+) post under the hood on the passenger’s side. So, here’s a question: if your Grand Cherokee won’t start due to a dead auxiliary battery, will jumping the Jeep via the post supply power to the auxiliary battery, the main battery only or both? It would actually be great if you could make a video about this. Thanks.
