I’m 14, I really want to start acting. Sometimes I feel like I should’ve gotten started sooner, other times I feel like it’s not too late. The first step I’m taking is trying to get over my shyness. I’m taking baby steps, talking to more people and initiating conversations with others instead of waiting for others to ask me first. Although I want to do more film acting than theatre, I’m still going to give it a try this summer, hopefully I can find a beginners theatre class! Needing all the luck and prayers I can get 🙏🏻

I was bullied my whole life, from elementary to high school. This truly helped my confidence, my dream was to create my own movie, and be a main character in it. I want to be similar to my role model, Ian Somerhalder. Not just from his shows, but from who he is as a person, he's exactly what I envisioned myself being when I grew up. I'm 25, but I have the imagination and the motivation I did in highschool. 🥺

Practice makes perfect.. I would force myself to talk to people and I eventually started to get better at holding conversations. The easiest way I found to hold a conversation is to ASK QUESTIONS. Wow! I cant believe I found this video just now. I have been a theater actor for two years now(i'm 16) and didn't have the confidence that I have now. Thanks to my Mother I started to do more upfront activities and did talent shows in front of hundreds of people, I've been doing a fine arts festival for the last three years; just doing things that causes you to interact with people will help you through really fast. I didn't take acting classes before I did my first musical, but, I was apparently a natural; I couldn't believe the comments I was getting for my first time. Don't give up on a dream because you don't feel comfortable, comfort is the enemy of progress, so get out of your bed and face the cold darkness because in the end, it will only make you stronger.

@@luasiaimas3566 Social anxiety isn't just being shy. Anxiety is a brain disorder caused by chemical imbalances in the brain. Social anxiety is a kind of anxiety. You can work to better it, some people do get over it, but you can't just tell people to "work to get over it," and get pissed at them if they can't. It makes life harder, and the world isn't just going to change to fit their needs, but you can try and facilitate as much as you can. @LeaStrobe4 жыл бұрын
You dont have to be in LA in order to pursue acting you can start anywhere at your local theatres or the drama club of your school and New york is also a really big and important city in the film industry a lot of auditions happen there its not just in Hollywood and I really understand you. when i used to be your age(i'm 18 now) nobody took me seriously but i made the mistake and believed all the discouraging words and its soo hard for me to fight back to my confidence about acting I feel so insecure about it now and have to gain my confidence back.Dont make the same mistake like me and listen to those small minded peoples .Show them that it's your passion convince them by taking action towards your dream educate yourself about how to become an actor there's a lot of information on the internet do a lot of research maybe even look for things like acting camps or workshops and then present those information to maybe your parents or other people that won't take you seriously this shows them that you DO take this seriously and you are actually willing to work for it its not always easy but if its really what you wanna do its gonna be worth it never give up and follow your dreams that's what I always say in my videos (my channel is about following your dreams) if you need some encouraging words you can dm me on Instagram my insta name is : lea.steam

Hey Rohit! Thanks for being apart of the community, we’re glad to have you. Hey man, if you’re committed to becoming an actor and you work hard you might want to look into my 10 Hour Acting Masterclass. It’s exclusively for actors who have their own personal drives to move forward. In there I mention the voice and how to use it most effectively with dialogue as well as 10 hours worth of complete acting knowledge. I’ll leave the link for you to check it out 👍🏼 also if you decide you don’t like it, no harm done, you’ll get a full refund within the first 30 day period you buy it. That way the actor doesn’t have to worry or second guess themselves, it makes it completely worry free. If you’re interested in learning more and checking it out I’ll post the link below. You can see what’s included and find more insight. Hope to see you there Rohit! Link the-actors-academy.teachable.com

@arleen1231004 жыл бұрын
I’m at drama school at moment and have suffered with the same thing!! Best possible thing to do is to learn to laugh at yourself!! (Sounds weird) but if you can laugh at yourself and crack a joke when or if you make a mistake, people will feel more relaxed around you making you feel more relaxed!! I also put on a character when in front of a panel!! I’m still very much myself but I just wear a massive smile and talk to the panel like they are humans (not monsters) and ask how they are etc? Don’t introduce yourself as a robot, say your first name (it is more relaxed and casual) ask how they are and make eye contact with all of them and smile and try and make conversation and I promise you will feel more relaxed. Look at one of your friends and see how they deal with themselves when they mess up!! Do they tense up and apologise? Or do they smile, and own it!! Don’t take it so serious, try and have a laugh and say yeah “I messed that right up!!” We are humans not robots and mess up and are allowed to! Watch actors when they mess up on screen and see how they deal with it!! Remember smile, sense of humour, own it!!! X
