Thanks as always T. This was a huge album and there is not a weak song on it. In my all time top 20 favorite albums. They are still making albums and touring, really great live band. Was last concert I saw before the start of the pandemic. You can pick any song from this album and can’t go wrong, but Far Behind is their biggest hit

I've always loved this tune. I saw Candlebox on their second tour and got to meet the band. As they were signing my Candlebox CD, I told the lead singer, Man I really love "You". He looked at me and I awkwardly said, "No, I don't mean you... I mean the song, "You". We all had a good laugh at that. 😅Thanks for the reaction. Great as always, bro!

You’re right, this song lives right between grunge and alternative rock. They had another hit in the movie With Honors (w/ Branden Frazier).

Loved the first half of the 90's and the grunge scene. Was living in Chicago at the time, the clubs, the groups, and the music were just off the chain. Didn't hurt I was a delivery guy for a printing company and was all over the Loop, Near North, Gold Coast, Old Town, etc. Found so many little haunts and amazing places. Miss those days sometimes.

T, I love Candlebox and have all of their albums. I heard this song on the radio when it came out and bought the cd immediately. Loved the entire album beginning to end from the 1st listen. Saw them live 5X's -- great live. Madonna actually signed them to her label Maverick. They were the 1st band she signed. 1st time I saw them was on this tour as they opened for RUSH in 1994 at Madison Square Garden. They're biggest hit is also from this album and it's called Far Behind -- written in tribute to Mother Love Bone singer Andrew Wood who od'd. The band Temple Of The Dog featuring members from Soundgarden & Pearl Jam was a tribute to Andrew Wood, particularly the song Say Hello To Heaven. Alice In Chains also paid tribute to Andrew Wood with their song Would.

Roman is right! That entire album is awesome! "Far Behind" is THE hit of the album though! That is the one everyone knows, and women LOVE. We use to play it in both cover bands that I was in. It always got such a great reaction that many other songs came and went... but not that one.

From the lead singer Kevin Martin said, "I had stolen money from my parents to buy drugs and I had a real problem when I was in high school. On my 18th birthday I went to see Midnight Oil and Peter Garrett just floored me as a front man. I woke up the next morning and said, 'That's it,' and I quit. I paid my parents back and I haven't done drugs since. Well, I don't consider mushrooms and anything that's organic or natural to be a drug. So I still smoke pot every now and then. So that song's really about just saying goodbye to that dependency." This is why I love Candlebox. A redemption song to me because I went through it as well..

Candlebox and their label Maverick Records which I think was owned by Madonna weren't seeing eye to eye. They put out a few albums before the band started falling apart and they waited out their contract before starting to produce more music again. Their 1st album is their best and was pretty big in the 90's.

Candlebox's self title album is one of my favoites of all times. EVERY single song is a banger. after that I actually don't really like their other albums much. You definitely should listen to "He calls Home" "Arrow" "Blossom" all songs that are that perfect Blues-Grunge sound with lots of emotion and Jazzy vocals. Literal magic was created with that album!!

Candlebox were signed out of Seattle in the early 90's after the success of Nirvana and Pearl Jam... but they got unfairly pegged as a 'grunge rip off' and declined rapidly after this first album in 1993... The original Candlebox was the most successful - Kevin Martin (vocals), Scott Mercado (drums), Bardi Martin (bass) and Peter Klett (guitar)... but only lasted 2 albums (self-titled in 1993, and 'Lucy' in 1995) ... Mercado left and Candlebox broke up after the 3rd album 'Happy pills' (1998)... They reunited in 2008, but currently... only Kevin Martin (vocals) is an original member.

they came out a year or so after the big 4 in 92 so they were unfairly labeled "another Seattle band" or the second wave of grunge. I saw them open for Rush in 1993 they were great.
