Weird fact: Around the 1960-1970 some spies would have cyanide pills in their glasses to not risk any information getting leaked from torture. The fact Austin is a spy, has glasses and he’s in that time period suggests those glasses are actually suicide glasses.

I remember about back in 1998, I believe me and a friend was walking past a video store and i caught the scene after this intro when Austin and Miss Kesington were driving. It was something about the scene that stopped me, it not only made me start laughing when he said YEAH BABY! That whole scene was genius as far as all that was going on from just a simple conversation between two friends, and Austin asking why wont she model for him. They don't make comedies like this anymore. I really hope Mike Myers and company do get another Austin Powers going. I will surely be in line for it.

Had the best time in the cinema watching APIMOM with my best mate back in ‘97. We were already laughing hard from the Doctor Evil opening, then properly belly laughing when Ausin’s feet come in with the music. Then when he stops and looks at the copper and then the copper starts dancing we just fell apart completely. Then Austin leading the band around the corner almost finished us off. Just the best time watching this movie 👍

I remember riding my bike to the theatre to watch this at 16 years old. Met my friend there and we watched it together. One of the most hilarious films I'd ever seen, such fresh humor and I loved all the little gags making fun of the old Bond films. I had seen most of the Bond films because my grandparents had them all on betamax. I'd seen Mike Meyers before in the Wayne's World movie. But Austin Powers was groundbreaking and so damn funny.

I remember when my mom rented this in 1997 she told me it was the guy from Wayne's World in a time travel movie. I figured it would be like Bill and Ted but when this opening sequence started I realized it looks more like A Hard Days Night.

As a kid I would always watch Austin Powers, even if I didn't get all the jokes. Still super funny.

I remember seeing this as a teen in the mid 90's with my friends. We had NO IDEA about anything from British pop culture of the 60's and 70's. We were like, we don't know what the hell this is, but it's frigging amazing. When he whips around and stares at the camera during the 5-second musical segues. We were crying with laughter.

Imagine a flash mob pulling this off on the streets of London...with perfect choreography and everything. That would be so friggin awesome . But I guess it would be tremendously difficult, especially in trying to obtain the permission to close of several busy streets for even a few minutes.

I'm Swedish, and like a lot of swedes i watch the Nobel Prize ceremony every year. One year close to when this movie came out, they played this theme. Austin Powers was so popular that his theme song got to be played along with the usual Mozart and Bach. XD

Im a grown man and today learned that this was soul bossanova bu the man quincey jones. I just got into vinyl about a year ago and soon thereadter leabed of him and his works. Wow myers really encaptured the video i just saw of "aloft" i think it was. On to learn more about it

I absolutely love these movies and remember being a little kid not even understanding most of the humor and references yet still finding it so entertaining and just getting more and more entertaining as I grew and got the jokes lol

I didn't never knew why Mike Myers is not considerated as The great actor he is. All his characters can be cartoonish, but they are so differents between them and hilarious too. The guy is awesome and so versatil.
