There are so many psychopaths and sociopaths everywhere. When someone's stalking you, don't act like "Nothing will stop me I don't want to be a victim" attitude. Act fast and set your boundaries. Some stalkers are too dangerous and crazy. You need to block them away from you immediately. They need a long looong rest in a jail and or asylum. Stay safe, everyone. And thank you for the movie.

And I am not the best looking man, but I have had my stalker. I am a priest. I had a woman who was gonna have relations with me or die. One day she came into my office, on a Saturday afternoon when she knew from experience there was nobody there, and started "satisfying herself" in front of me. Me? "X--her name--, I need more Splenda in my coffee! Be right back!" Still haven't gone back, but she still tried to drag me through the mud with false accusations of other things. She is now making the life of a minister at another church equally miserable and I am going in to to testify. This is not breaking priest-believer privilege. This was not confession or anything except an attempt to extort money and sex from men. And that is what I will testify to. (Helps that I audio regarded the time in my office!)

Here's what I learned about stalkers from professionals: If they don't get the message from your body language, ESPECIALLY if you explicitly confirm with words that you're not interested, and they still persist, then you must cut them off 100%. Go to the police, go to your boss, go to a professional, anyone who can legally intervene. But never, NEVER acknowledge the stalker themselves in any way shape or form. The worst thing you could ever do with a stalker is to show them any attention AT ALL (whether you try to understand them, try to be courteous, or react with anger, or threaten them - anything). The more attention you give them, the further they'll go. But don't suffer in silence. Make sure all the relevant authorities are aware of the situation so they can give you protection.

My stalkers was someone from the Goth subculture. He saw me at collage and never interacted with mr but somehow, convinced other people around him that I was a Goth because of him. 3 collages later, different hair colours and styles. He still found me. I discovered that a “friend” had told him where I was working and everything about me. Everything, how long I had been a Goth and why. My family. So that is why he kept on finding me. One day, he brought some of his friends to my workplace all men. They waited for me. I passed and one of them cared me a,”Little Bi**h.” And they tried to grab me. I ran and in my fear on my way home hiding from these men. I had wet myself. After that I left the Goth scene. But suffered from anxiety and panic attacks afterwards. No one believe me that he was stalking me because he was polite and articulate. I never had enough evidence either and my friends. Were not my friends.

Love this movie! Also known as "I Can Make You Love Me." It's kind of nice seeing a film set in the corporate environment of the tech/software companies of the '80s & '90s - a very interesting (and often overlooked) era for that industry. Brooke Shields plays well in this, she's very sweet but also comes across as intelligent & capable, and Richard "John Boy" Thomas is fantastic - he can make a surprisingly effective villain (see another excellent film of his, "Down, Out & Dangerous," where he plays an even more villainous monster). The really frightening thing about this film is that it's based on a true story, and for the most part is reasonably close to the reality of what happened to poor Laura Black.

12': I love how he blames her clothing for his attitude. 'It gives people the wrong impression'. You get that argument from other women a lot too (slut-shaming). I used to work in a factory, the work was physically demanding so like lots of my female colleagues, I wore leggings and a baggy t shirt, as if it had been an aerobic class. We had to wear a labcoat on top of our clothes (and a hairnet, and gloves, and safety shoes) and I'd always choose an extra large labcoat, to hide my figure (I'm a size medium). People could only see my figure when I arrived and left, and when I was in the canteen. In spite of that, one of the Romanian managers, a woman, kept bad mouthing because I have never been married or in a relationship, I've never had children, and I am not in touch with my family (I was sexually abused from early childhood until early adulthood, when I left them). She just wouldn't let go of her fantasies that I must have worked in the prostitution industry. She was constantly criticising my body, saying that I looked like a ballerina, like a top model, and I shouldn't work in a factory because I didn't need the money as I didn't have children and I could find myself a wealthy husband.

I had a situation like this at a company when I was an intern in a rich part of my city. It started with the guy offering me a ride home almost every day, getting a coffee near my desk, entering the rooms when I was alone in there. Once I was getting some files organized in a file room when he entered, harassed me and at some point he turned the lights off. I called for help and some people came for me a while after and told me they would do whatever they could to stop that, one of the HR girls even told me he sent innapropriate messages and could be a witness for me. I told my dad what happened and he told me not to go back ever again because he just knew, men just know other men. They scheduled a meeting between me, the company and the educational instituition, when I got there with my dad, they had the hr, lawyers and everything prepared. The hr girl was there and denied she ever spoke to me about the messages and the lawyer told me I shoul be glad for being complimented by the guy. Of course I was let go, ashamed, betrayed and no one stood by my side except for my dad. As I said, men just know other men.
