Wow what a nice bloke. I'm a long distance trucker in the UK (20years) and it's the same here. Everyone just locks themselves in the cab on a night and the industry has changed a lot in the years I've been doing it. I make the most of my time away by taking my cycle with me and also running. I've seen more of the UK in the last 6 years than my previous 46 years! Greetings from over the pond!!

Amen Joe. It has certainly changed out here over the years. I do miss a lot about this lifestyle from 30 years ago ( been driving OTR since 1984 ). Remember pulling off at a wide spot, breaking out the grill and before ya know it, there were 10 other trucks there with a regular smorgasbord going. We looked out for one another best we could, laughed together, fought at times and even cried when someone we all knew passed. We were far from perfect, but we were family.

As a 66 yr. old male, I guess every boy or man has fantasized about taking to the road and living such a independent life of adventure. I used to hike in the 70's and I caught a ride with a husband/wife team and got to drive 300 miles from Midland, Texas to Dallas, Texas in the summer of 79. What a small adventure for this young kid.

Damn I’m a yard jockey and a while back this rookie jb hunt driver was having trouble backing up (you could tell it was her first couple of days solo) after a couple of minutes a random trucker pulled up hopped out gave us all of us the dirtiest look for not helping her and stood there and gave her instructions for 20 min lol …. I get it now though because of this video 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

So if anyone who doesn't know about trucks, here's something cool, if you look at his left foot while he's driving, he's not hitting his clutch, which means he knows his truck so well that he is able to shift and feel when the exact moment that the gear catches. It takes YEARS to master this technique.
