My no spoiler prediction excluding the 1 minute waiting will be about sub 16 minutes. I'm going to say 15:45 Edit: Let's goo 16:05 is pretty close! I love these kinds of videos, maybe you could do a track 5k with spikes on like you did with the 2 mile and 4 mile time trial. I would like to see if you could break 14:30 on a track 5k. Keep up the amazing work Spence!

I remember when this guy was an underdog trying to make it as a professional runner. I liked to watch his channel and root for him! Now he punches down on the “competition” and beats teenagers and old folks in park runs. I’m sad about how this channel has fallen off 😞.
@AndrewTSq2 ай бұрын
Lol, I never heard of him before, but he must have won the "biggest ego ever" competition. I am 45yo, and I only run sometimes for fun and do 5km in just under 20minutes. But my main focus is cycling, so I hardly ever run. But there are a lot of people in the track that are way faster than me. But I would never post a video with me running faster than some people and make it sound like I won the olympics lol.

Are you going to give a report on your Falmouth 7 mile race ?? I watched the feeds and I "think" you finished in 35:46 and if I'm correct, that is a VERY GOOD clocking. If possible maybe give us a rundown of the overall experience. I live in Texas and like you, participating in Falmouth is a long trip. Would you recommend your subs participating in Falmouth ?? I got questions you might can answer such as there's 11,000 runners and many are out of town How far away are the hotels and are there enough of them ?? Also the cost of the hotels - because if they're just absolutely ridiculous in price, that's a deal breaker for me. Did you stay in a hotel or Air B&B ?? Anda closing sidenote: the Falmouth race video feed was really lame. They showed the start and they showed the finish. And NOTHING else. But I did see you at the start and I saw you at the finish on the feed. What was your first mile split - things like that.

This is intended as honest critical feedback. Not trying to be intentionally mean so hopefully it'll be accepted as intended. Your previous challenges have always been personal/internal challenges.... u against a course; u against a record; u against a PB etc... That's great! This one is different. This comes off as showboating and trying to upstage Joe Public... kids, moms & dads, ppl pushing strollers, dog walkers, and even a few senior citizens in the pack. It's not a good look man. You're still getting paid to train & run full-time so you're STILL A PRO RUNNER in every meaningful way. The only diff being you're non-traditionally funded. Maybe find a different angle? Take care.
@cmereves3 ай бұрын
Very respectfully I could not disagree anymore. I think this WAS for himself. It pushes him to catch up and do his best, and sometimes playing catch up in a race could be the best strategy for winning. It allowed him to not have to lead the whole race which is very difficult and even most likely helped the other guy he met run faster! It also probably gave him a new perspective on other runners he races against. I don’t see wut bad this video did and I highly doubt anybody running the race was offended that he beat them because that just simply would not make sense. Again tho, I’m not trying to change ur perspective, I’m just letting u hear mine!

Next time try doing this in a race, Parkrun is a fun community event, you do not need to try and belittle people because you are so much faster. Try running against people of your level, see if you win then :(
@jasonolson79662 ай бұрын
I would have been much more impressed had you simply said "i ran a 5K in 16 mins..." Fantastic effort, but kind of a douchey method. As someone who runs and races frequently, nothing frustrates me more than someone showing up to the race in the wrong pace bracket. If you are likely gonna win, start in the front. While some people were cool with it, i guarantee most were irritated by it. I was stuck behind some old guy who wanted to stand at the front of the start line, and he was a dangerous obstacle for all the faster runners around and behind him. I usually don't get passed in a race though cuz people dont usually make those kinds of douchey mistakes when they're experienced and fast. This was a bad idea and not very true to the sport of running.
