Ralphie, the Murder Family’s dad got the upper-hand on her, but there’s a reason why she’s on this team. Fun fact; Millie almost always chooses to use melee weapons like blades and knives in combat, while Moxxie fairs better with ranged weapons like guns. Idk, just liked how they each do better with certain weapons.

Millie is basically a glass cannon; she can dish it out but can't necessarily take it. She is a badass who can cut through a sea monster, but one hit can be enough to take her out. Ralphie was lucky, Millie was attacking him from behind and he threw a blind swing as he turned around, and not only did he manage to connect but he actually hit her on the side of the head.

@@SapphireDragonDX I did feel that the way she was taken down was out of character. I just assumed it was a necessity for keeping the chapter within budget, time or money wise. Makes sense that it was the contents of the bottle that knocked her out, since we see later on that she can takes way harder hits than that and only be down for a few moments. Nice to know there was a better explanation than budget or that it was an early episode, because that *really* is out of character for what we find out later.

This is worth pointing out because of a blink and you'll miss it bit of trans rep in one of the next episodes. Aka a character's horns don't align with their gender presentation. They're also voiced by a trans performer which makes it that much cooler :) 19:52 Someone mentioned that at a panel and Viv explained the bottle was meant to be full of chloroform, and that's why it took Millie out. Viv and the team thought they indicated it well enough through the weird liquid color and circling clouds but that it didn't register with audiences. So it was the first big whoopsie of the show.

I think Verosika's insult about Blitzo setting off Amber Alerts is actually a bit sad. She must know he wanted kids,, and that his past job entertaining kids as a clown is a sore spot for him. It wouldn't surprise me if him wanting to be a parent was part of why their relationship went sour, and he adopted Loona after that. Blitzo does have a sister! In the next episode, keep an eye out for the posters on the I.M.P office walls. (Also the office whiteboards, the doodles are usually very funny.) Millie did get unfair treatment in episode 1, it's true; we have to assume she was being very reckless and overconfident fighting that one guy, and he rolled a natural 20 on that one hit. :)

The Rings are referenced in Hazbin, though they’re easy to miss. Lucifer and Charlie (in the hotel’s library) have knickknacks representing them. They kind of look like rainbow slinkies on a stand, each layer representing a Ring of Hell.

Something I absolutely LOVE about this series is that I always notice something new when I rewatch it. Stuff that might seem like a random offhand comment (like Blitz mentioning the rings and Verosika mentioning his sister) or background details (Like the poster in Blitz's office that features him and his sister) are actually hints about the world, characters, relationships, and story. I didn't catch a LOT the first time around, so I definitely recommend you rewatch the episodes you've already seen and pay close attention to the dialogue and background details. Each new episode kind of puts the previous episodes in a new light too. BTW, I never noticed the arm hanging out of the fridge and the spinal cord lamp in "Murder Family" until YOU pointed it out in your reaction video for it lol, thank you for that! I can't wait for you to get to episodes 5-7!!!

Yeah, I know it irks some fans that there isn't more information stated out loud in the show, but I really like that there's so much stuff hidden in the backgrounds - especially in Helluva Boss where the episodes drop periodically whenever they are ready, which leaves us with a lot of time to re-watch and compare notes. But yeah that graphic/ranking that goes around drives me a bit mad for that very reason, hellborn doesn't actually tell u anything about rank because different hellborn have different ranks (same with sinners, overlords are still sinners, they just are ones with more power. But the graphic almost makes it seem like they are different species)

Plus it was made waaay too early into Helluva Boss to have any idea wtf it's talking about. When this list was made, we'd yet to see Fizzaroli. Asmodeus, Mamon, or freaking hell, even Lilith and Lucifer!! Not to mention that "Hellborn" is such a broad grouping. Even if they fit in between Sinners and Imps (not that we've actually ever seen any sign that they do) there's many different kinds of Hellborn, native to different rings of hell. It's like the equivalent of making a ranking of the most powerful countries, and instead of having separate entities for Japan, China, Asia, Thaiwan, Korea, etc, you just say "Number 4. The Asians"

Yeah, those diagrams basically spell out Hell’s hierarchy and layout. Demons travel from ring to ring by train, except Sinners, who can’t leave the Pride Ring - Lucifer’s respective domain as the embodiment of pride. There are several kinds of Demons, but (usually) only Sinners specifically fall to Hell - only a handful of them are Overlords. On a different note, Imps are generally regarded as servants, yet Blitzø (yes that’s spelt correctly, the “O” is silent and Verosika is insulting him) is bold enough to start his own business. Other demons have apocalyptic power depending on their status, but Imps only have weapons, their wits about them, that one book, etc. while Hellhounds make reliable, effective guard dogs. I always thought, “Imps are the lowest of the low, and Hellhounds are even lower than that,” because Hellhounds are adopted servants - sort of like pets, basically.

Moxie worked for Blitzo and was sent in right after her and Blitz got into a bit of a fight, to try to get that parking spot back. Not saying she is a saint, but I’m betting she is pretty nice.

idk if you're aware, but Blitzo is pronounced Blitz - You can hear Loona and Moxxie and such call him that. Some people in the show still pronounce the o but that's explained later.

Succubi horns are skin colored with various amount of black going down from the tip. - Imps are often a darker red, while Succubi come in pink shades, though they also sometimes come in red. - All Succubi have wings, while wings on Imps are very rare. - Imp are smaller. Unfortunately, a lot of the info about the world is not explained inside the confines of the show (Hazbin or Helluva). The important things you need to know is that Sinners are specifically dead humans and can ONLY exist in the Pride Ring, run by Lucifer. Normal Hellborns (which is everyone else except Sinners and Royalty), can be injured and killed by normal means and can freely traverse through all 7 Rings of Hell (only Sinners/Royalty MUST be killed with heavenly metal). And hellhounds are all adopted through kennels... (Edited for pedantic accuracy)

So a little context for Luna's background, Hellhounds are primarly from Glutteny where the sin of Glutteny (voiced by Ke$ha) encourages her sin. This leads to the party atmosphere and live for the night vibe that accompanies that sin. This leads to a lot of hellhounds being born outside of wedlock to a couple or single mother that can't and probably doesn't want to take care of them; thus they abandon the child. So Glutteny is stuck in this cycle living for the night having unwanted children and sending them to orphanages (the pound) to raise them until they are 18 can and can leave the pound. Where they likely get sucked into the Glutteny cycle that created them.

Verosika is one of the antagonists that is 100% unproblematic to simp for. If you pay attention to her history with Blitzø, she is unquestionably the one who got screwed over. Blitzø was uncaring about Verosika's feelings or well-being. He drove her so far into debt that she became an alcoholic IN HELL and I think he only really cared that he managed to bag a succubus (based on plot that gets revealed in a few episodes). As far as I'm concerned, Verosika is the hero in this story.

If we want to be specific, there are a couple of flaws with the hell hierarchy shown at the beginning. First off, since its an older creation, it’s using Lucifer’s old name, but whatever. It also puts overlords and sinners in two categories, and while overlord ARE more respected and influential than your average sinner, overlords are still sinners. They’re a subcategory, not a whole tier above. And it’s the opposite for imps and hellhounds, they are not on the same tier, hellhounds should be a tier lower than imps, as even imps tend to treat Hellhounds as servants/pets.

Fun fact Virosica's voice actress is Christina Vee who voices in a lot of anime dubs some examples being Mio in k-on Darkness in Konosuba and Killua in hunter hunter and Homura in Madoka Magica and she's a great voice actress but unfortunately despite k-on being a music anime we don't get to hear her sing because the anime doesn't have official English versions of the songs and as you heard she's a great singer and this show doesn't do her singing voice justice (despite the show and it's songs being great.) (also the joke about people drooling over her is in reference to how much NSFW art there is of her.)
