"FFXIV has more than 30 songs" not enough, give me more! FFXIV's soundtrack by far the biggest in the franchise so it makes sense the game would have more songs in Theatrythm. I can't wait to dive in!
@susie_haltmann Жыл бұрын
"FFXIV has over 30 songs" And it's not enough tbh. Wished for more. FFXIV has like a thousand songs, and it's not even exaggeration, and it's still growing. And most are fucking bangers. And Soken really deserves the recognition and love.
@RisXchTaisu Жыл бұрын
I will say, while XIV has a ton of songs, I am overly excited because they are some of the best in the series! They’re also from different expansions which some feel like their own FF games (looking at you shadowbringers)
@MrMoose0987 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's why I expect 14 has so many songs -- we're getting essentially 4 games worth of songs. And if you combine, say, all three 13 games, there are 31 songs there Which is actually slightly more per-game than FF14 has per expansion. And I'd definitely agree that each expansion feels like its own game, with its own musical themes and such. So it makes sense to look at it as essentially 4 games worth of songs. I'm hoping a future DLC gives us some Endwalker music!
@mrcool9090 Жыл бұрын
@@MrMoose0987 I’m thinking the two hidden dlcs might be Endwalker and XVI
@MrMoose0987 Жыл бұрын
@@mrcool9090 That's what I'm really hoping for. Maybe Endwalker + a hopeful trailer song for the next expansion for one of the packs, then an FFXVI pack. I expect that's why they're unannounced.
@mrcool9090 Жыл бұрын
@@MrMoose0987 i do think the popular consensus is that one of them will 100% be XVI but the other might be octopath 2 and not endwalker

As a person who had played the original Theatrhythm and Curtain Call, I will say that this is worth a play just based upon content and concept. There are a ton of songs, characters and quests to take so this will be something that will be keeping me busy for a good while. I only began playing the full game yesterday after spending a good few weeks playing the demo and just based upon gameplay and the massive list of songs really hooked me. The only real nitpick I have with FBL specifically is how there aren't a lot of modes, there is series quest, Music list and multiplayer. I would've really liked an arcade mode or even a Quest Medleys for some kind of randomness or something that would throw songs at me at different difficulties one after another but I feel like endless mode has me covered there. DLC is something else I look forward to because seeing other SE games get some representation is really good, even getting more songs and such to play is a good enough reason for me to keep up and keep playing.

I'm a totally blind person, and even I can enjoy this game, much more than, say, DJ Max. The fact that 1: each difficulty actually makes it's own sound when you select it, 2: the song preview menus don't wrap (i.e: if you're at the top of the tower and you press up, you odn't jump to the boottom), although true, this is not the case for all menus so it can be a bit confusing, and the fact this game has previews in the first place is a godsend, and 3: there's an auto play option so you can effectively learn the songs through sound alone before trying to go for the unlock, is just epic. True, the game does not have menu narration built in, and if it did, the rpg elements would be much much more accessible for the totally blind. It would be amazing if this could be added in but I'm not holding my breath. However, with a bit of help from let's players and a little bit of trial and error, I figured out the basic jist of series quest mode, and whilst I've only beaten ff 7 stage so far, I'm currently progressing through what I believe to be ff 1. I believe I am nearing the end of that stage. Unfortunately, today I have not playeed as of the wrigint of this comment because I've been a bit ill, so I was really going to get into it and that plan just hasn't come to fruition just yet. Aah well, plenty of time left. The fact you don't have to do quests to progress means I can just get help later on and go for those trophies and some cards, whilst unlocking the most interesting for me, by myself, the music. My only question I do have though, in the party menu I don't know what the r1 and l1 buttons do (this is the ps5 control scheme here I don't know the nintendo switch equivallents) so hoping I haven't messed anything up.

I absolutely loved the 3DS game so was very interested in this! I’ll admit I am a little disappointed it didn’t have the same kind of treatment as Melody of Memories from the same developers, they put a full story mode in with cutscenes and a really cool world map. This feels a bit cheaper in most elements, including polish, but if it plays well then that matters more than anything!

Great review by the way. I'm so hyped for this game and so glad Square made it. I've never played FF XIV so 30 songs sound a lot but like with Melody of Memory and as you said, you don't need to have played the series to enjoy the music.

To be fair, ffxiv was taking from a much larger pool of songs. Im just guessing, but im sure its proportionate. That being said, even as a huge fan of xiv and its music, I dont feel like the track listing represents the vibes I love in that awesome sountrack. Didnt have the punch it should have.

Its there, but I think you have to get it with the Deluxe\Premium Edition. Which I’d almost regret buying until I saw that Xenogears will be coming to it…so they can keep my money. I personally cannot find an answer why FFX’s Boss Theme is always missing from these games…I don’t think it was in Dissidia either which is a shame.

I disagree with FFXIV having many songs, I personally feel like it has too little. It's a game that has over 35 hours worth of music, it's just that it doesn't separate the expansions in the same way games like FF7, FF10, FF13 separate sequels and extra media. Great review, nonetheless. Can't wait for the full game to come out!

To many FFXIV songs, since they seem very bland to me. To much Battle of the Big Bridge song, there are like 9 versions of the song. The song is decent, but not there are other good songs Square. There is no full version of Dancing Mad. There are some songs that are boring as heck with 100 tap notes over 50 seconds, when it should just be one hold note. I loathe these songs the most, yes they are mostly FMS but still.
