I’m so happy more people will be exposed to Mystic Quest. For a game that’s never made it off the SNES, it had phenomenal music. Easy and basic gameplay but banger tracks all the way through

I remember playing it back in the day but I don't remember ever getting far, but man do the music be banging, and in the case of mobius FF, nostalgia too since I played it from start to end of service, even now it's still in my favourites list on steam and my only favourited game haha

I love your review and the enthusiastic tone of your voice. I love Final Fantasy and prefer to listen to reviews from other fans as oppose to a general videogame reviewer. That Kingdom Hearts DLC cut in was so smooth that I think I found some ingredients after clicking on the subscribe button. I loved Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory and wanted a version like this Theatrhythm because they showed the KH characters in that art form via loading screens and jukebox. I hope KH dlc will come with some KH characters too, even if its just Sora. SE could already use the chibi assets from KH:MOM. Great video and commentary. I love that you're a family of gaming culture. I aim to do the same.

Great review man, I'm impressed you put it together so fast without an early copy. Can't wait to stream it when my video capture card arrives. Couldn't agree more about lowering the volume for trigger sfx. They threw me off like crazy in the demo. I actually turned it to about 20% so I could hear the beat it makes and it worked pretty well after I got used to the visual vs audio timing. Expert feels like the right difficulty for me too. Definitely took some practice to get used to the timing.

The game is on sale right now. You could get the game and the whole dlc for 66 dollars. The dlc comes with over 120 songs

I tired lowering the trigger sound but my brain needs that feedback for some reason 😂. I ended up lowering it a bit tho.

I use the two back buttons on the dualsense edge for the note inputs - specifically the short, clicky round ones, which I dislike for _any_ other game. My biggest complaint with the game (other than not having a better offset calibration tool), is that they didn't include *every single* Advent Children song.

The parallel sticks on the PlayStation controller is where my hand cramps. It feels unnatural.

That's interesting. Thanks for sharing your experience. I normally prefer the comfort of offset sticks for gaming but for this game in particular, I found that I was more accurate on double flick notes with the parallel sticks.

Are you aware of Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory? It's a Kingdom Hearts rhythm game and it was made by the same developers as Theatrhythm. In fact, it's basically a Theatrhythm game in all but name. Just wanted to point that out since you said something about having Kingdom Hearts music as DLC :p

My only disappointment with the game is Endless Mode and how barebones it feels compared to the randomized quest maps in Curtain Call. It was so addicting and it kinda felt like dungeons that dropped more dungeon maps when you completed them.

How do you unlock endless mode actually? About to hit 25k rhythmia and don't know what I need to do to unlock it Edit: nevermind just unlocked it, have to beat the theathrythm series one which shows the all stars carnival songs

Even though I'm a huge OST & FF fan and generally like rythm games, I just didn't pay any attention to it cause I thought it was Switch exclusive and I only play the Nintendo 1st party games on that. But the attention to detail, the co-op mode and the insane tracklist makes me think about getting it for PS5 sooner than later 😁👍 What I want for DLC? Well, more FFXIV is never bad, and I looked up the tracklist. One of my favorite tracks "Full Fathom Five" seems not to be in here. Or the criminally underrated World of FF gets just 1 track and not the best one. But nothing else comes to mind right now that is FF directly, I mean they could add Star Ocean tracks etc.

I'd like to have Footfalls from Endwalker get in there but there's a huge amount of FFXIV music as it is. (never a bad thing, like you said but..) I can't believe that "Shadows Rising" from Stranger of Paradise wasn't included! It's the friggin awesome song that everyone thought was Limp Bizkit from the trailers. WoFF deserved more! I would rather they bring more FF music as DLC than their other brand's music.

I just got this and played yesterday. The first song the best I could do was a d..lol my kid played it one time and got an a! I'm going to keep practicing! I only got the base game right now. I wish I could afford all of it. So is the season pass recommended?

It depends on what it's worth to you. The deluxe bonus songs are what I enjoyed as they are mostly FF songs that have vocals such as Crisis Core’s "Why", FFIX's "Melodies of Life" , FFVIII's "Eyes On Me" and not a vocal track but one of my favorite FF songs ever, "Zanarkand". So if those are songs you just couldn't live without, it may be worth it but after 385 songs the base game provides its hard to justify 27 songs for the same price! But the Season Pass itself isn't for me. I don't really care too much for songs outside of FF. That's why I'm disappointed that the bonus songs were forced bundled with the Season Pass. That's awesome how your kid caught on so well to this game!! Be sure to try out pair mode with them!

@@FinalFanTV Yeah, I haven't bought it yet (hesitating between PS4 or Switch versions), but it's a bummer you have to pay the Deluxe Edition for Zanarkand, which was included right of the bat in Curtain Call. That said... Eyes on me and Melodies of Life are two titles that I would also love to play. Though, there seem to be a misunderstanding, you don't have to pay the 110€ (I don't know the prices in dollars, sorry) version to play them, the deluxe version that included them is 90€ and if you buy the game in physical, you have an option to just pay the difference (30€) and get the Deluxe version songs. The 110€ version includes the first season pass in top of that, which is for those who wants songs that are not from the FF series (Nier, Octopath Traveler, Live a Live...)

To clarify: The deluxe edition comes with Season Pass #1 (30 songs from SaGa, Nier). The Premium edition comes with Season Passes #1-3. (90 songs from Chrono, Octopath, etc) The 27 bonus FF tracks are forced in with the Deluxe Edition that has the $30 Season Pass #1. Eyes on Me and Melodies of Life are definitely added to that value! Good point there. I just wish these songs were included in the base game.

Why would you turn off the the sound effects? That is there so you can practice perfecting the the songs on harder difficulties

It's a personal preference. But it's something that would have ruined the experience entirely if not given the option to mute them. I explained my reasoning a bit more in the video, but yeah, that's why. I'm happy the option is there and I wanted to bring awareness to that in case others felt similarly

There is multiplayer on the PlayStation version as well as the Nintendo version but no cross platform multiplayer. So PS players can not battle against Switch players. Glad you enjoyed the review!! Thank you!
