A couple of examples that stuck out to me personally are from gen3 with Ludicolo and Manectric. In the case of Ludicolo, it can learn fire punch, which is really strange since it's a grass/water type. As for Manectric, it's always bothered me that it can't learn fire blast despite having access to flamethrower and overheat; it's also odd that it cannot learn dig, either

Primarina is objectively the best starter for sun and moon, because it has the type advantage over all of the kahunas and a good amount of the trials.
@matthewkuscienko46162 жыл бұрын
It's also worth mentioning that Primarina is the only starter that doesn't suffer from any major disadvantages against any of the elite four: *It has a major type advantage against both Hala and Olivia *Access to ice beam gives you a decent match-up against Kahili *It also gets shadow ball to deal with Acerola's ghosts (don't know how many people are aware of this) *Despite being part fairy, Primarina's water type means it doesn't do too badly against Molayne's steel types; though it's still probably the hardest match-up for it thanks in part to Magnezone

6:11 In Gen IV and earlier (and maybe Gen V I don't remember), you need to buy ten at a time, in different purchases, to get the best benefit from premier balls. In earlier gens, if you buy 10 or more balls, you will always get one premier ball. So if you want 30 balls, but 10, then buy 10, then buy 10 again. And that will give you 3 premier balls. This is not the case for newer gens, thanfully.
@BakaTaco2 жыл бұрын
Currently playing through Omega Ruby randomised and as a Nuzlocke. I can confirm that you can't buy 20 pokeballs and get 2 premier balls. You'll need to buy 10 and then 10 again. Something I did learn is that you can get premier balls in the same way even if you buy great balls or better.

It's super effective against the two lowest leveled gyms, keeps solid momentum against 3 lategame gyms, matches well defensively against 3 of the 5 Star Bases, and matches well against one of the Titans (arguably 2 in Violet) It's so amazing that some Nuzlockes actually suggest you ban it for your playthroughs to give yourself at least a little more challenge.

The best starter for Kalos is a bit reliant on whether or not you use the Kanto starter (the most optimal of which is still Bublasaur). One of my favorite tips that I’ve learned is an EXP trick in HG/SS involving the daycare. They are possibly the hardest games in the series, but this trick makes the game much easier. Put two of your mons in the daycare, then fly to the gym in Ecruteak city, find an object heavy enough to push down the up arrow on the d-pad (such as a book, personally, I recommend Stephen King’s IT), walk into the gym, rest the object on the d-pad, and abusing the system in the gym where if you fall off the ledge, you teleport back to the start, you can have your character move infinitely whilst you do other productive things. I did this over night a couple of times and got my team from level 40 to 100 in the about 4 days.

I'm sure that you may have tried/considered trying these additional methods and simply didn't have time to mention them in the video but I thought I would leave them in the comments for anyone else who is interested in trying the pokemon quiz :)

Useful facts for Pokémon artists/animators: •Some Pokémon’s official art have inaccurate color schemes or proportions. For best results, use sprites and models as references instead. •In Sword and Shield (and probably other games with 3D models), you can use the Pokédex to turn a Pokémon’s model and look at it from more angles. You can also use “Check movements” to look at their attack animations. •You can find compilations of all Pokémon’s walk and run animations on KZbin. This is useful, as some Pokémon move in unexpected ways (Drizzile walks on all fours!). •Pokémon whose models are flying or doing a complex battle stance (like Medicham) have a secondary “normal” idle pose. If you make a Pokémon your buddy in Pokémon GO, then click on their icon next to your avatar icon, you can see this pose. For many Pokémon, it’s easier to use as a reference.

Pokemon really be healing more from normal human drinks than medicine designed specifically for healing them
@mizusenshisongs2 жыл бұрын
The thing about using the vending machine drinks is very true. I tend to use them to heal small amounts of HP so I don't waste potions. While you can't buy them in bulk, some games let you buy multiples of a drink in one go (without having to do the whole dialogue sequence over). In SwSh I found an easy way to get free items is to do Poké Jobs. Every time I'd go to a Pokémon Center I'd apply for as many as I could. Your boxed Pokémon earn EXP, and you get items! A lot of the time it'll be curry ingredients (especially at lower levels), but you can also get evolution stones, rarer Poké Balls, and even money this way (I got 12k Pokédollars from a few of my recent ones). You can also use the Hammerlocke University Poké Jobs (which are always available once unlocked) to help raise specific stats. I've also gotten free curry ingredients from random players in the Wild Area and DLC areas when online. Plus you can get items sometimes from raids (mostly EXP candies but also sometimes TMs I think). Thanks for the Riolu tip for Gen 5. I've only played a bit of both White and White 2 (like 1 or 2 gyms in) and would like to get back to them soon.

11:00 this reasoning is actually the reason why the only balls I buy are regular Poké Balls, Quick Balls, and Dusk Balls (the last one is purely for cosmetic effect). Quick Balls have a 5× modifier on the first turn, so they're worth their price, but Great Balls only increase effectiveness by 50% but cost thrice the price, and Ultra Balls are 6× the price and only double the total effectiveness. This means that you're almost always going to be better off throwing regular Poké Balls because you can buy so many more of them that you can afford to take extra turns. Dusk Balls also aren't _really_ worth it, but they fit well, thematically, with my Dark-types, so I usually have my main team in Dusk Balls.
