Isn't that just a regular playthrough of Control? Telekinesis does considerably more damage than any other option. At default settings it is by far the most effective and efficient source of damage for the entire game. Guns need optimal mods to compete at any point beyond the very beginning.

Which presents an interesting conundrum. What is in the interest of a corporation? Profit. That's all a corporation can really care about. But how you go after that profit can differ. Or go _slow_ and focus on a core product/service, customer service, and quality, while taking most of your profit and reinvesting it into that core, then diversifying into related areas once it's rock solid. What we generally see in the case of game companies going public, is an investment firm of some sort buys the bulk of the minority share. The game company is adopting a go slow strategy. Most of their money isn't being expressed as profit, but is being re-invested into acquiring talent, tools, and resources to maximize the quality of their product, service, and slowly make more games. With an intent to create a reputation that will hype their next game, the quality creates more reputation, creates more hype, more reputation, more hype, repeat forever. The investment firm wants to adopt a go fast strategy. They want to cash out what the developers have by getting them bought by a 'AAA' studio, either converting their shares of a somewhat valuable small company into hard to get shares of a _much_ more valuable one, or walking away with a profit in the process. So, behind closed doors, they threaten the majority with a Dodge v. Ford style suit. And now the majority has a _problem_ , how do they prove that their go slow strategy will pay off? Getting bought is a very low risk strategy, put out one to two decent games in a genre they care about and one or more of the AAA's will show up with a bag of cash. Easy money. But actually building an great product, a strong IP, a loyal fanbase? That's _expensive_ , it takes time, talent, resources, and is a riskier strategy by far. If the majority goes to court with in those conditions? High risk, high reward strategy vs. low risk medium reward strategy? They lose, every time. There is no way to win that argument, and _that's_ why going public is perceived as the death of games companies. It doesn't _have_ to be if your minority investors are on board with a go slow strategy. Good luck finding them when the go fast firms are willing to throw money at anything they can force into playing by their rules. tl;dr While it _is_ an oversimplification, it's also not _wrong_ . At all.

The problem is that this game is terribly unbalanced, it nudges you into melee combat for a good 90% of it because the only gun that doesn't suck is found at the end of the game, only for the game to throw you off balance with a boss that punishes you severely for doing that, to the point that melee combat (and grp, ofc) is completely unviable And said boss appears multiple times. And dying and reloading gets you back to the boss battle, no way to go back to restock or upgrade. No ammo? Too bad, make a new save file This is inexcusable

Hate to be that guy, but you CAN beat the first two head without guns/batons. Every time you dodge, you can push him a foot back before dodging the other direction. You can use this method to push him BARELY off the edge of the moving drill and beat the boss. I’ve used it in my own no-death runs while platinuming the game and it’s dlcs.

You can beat them all without weapons. The second can be beat by doging him until you can push him up a small ledge that kills him instantly for some reason. The third can be skipped with a battery duplication glitch and the fourth can be killed with the fans

All the guides I had looked at (at the time) just involved wedging the two head into a wall and making it unable to move so you could melee it to death in the second and third encounters. the lore in question: Dani didn't bother to check that it was medical supplies instead of bioweapons, but then they checked later she realized it was all a misunderstanding - but what they didn't realize was that UNDERNEATH the medical supplies were the bioweapons!! wow!!! and in terms of the actual story that takes place within the game, it's literally all just stupid scripted events that are ripped from Dead Space but are more cartoonish and contrived. how many times can you have the objective be "go here to meet this person" then you get there, speak to them for 2 minutes, then someone else randomly shows up and causes a problem resulting in you being separated and having to do it all again? lastly, i understand gameplay being fun is subjective, but i don't understand how you could possibly find this gameplay fun. it's like a horrendous mix of Lords of Fallen-style extremely slow third person rpg movement, really long animations you get locked into to do simple things like go through a door, awful level design, and inexplicable Mike Tyson's Punch Out style lock-on duck-and-dodge combat that just has no place in a game like this.

You see this on quarterly calls too if you listen in, generally shareholders would rather wait on a game to be successful rather than push out something half-baked. What often happens when a company goes public is how incentive structures work for C-suite members changes and often those structures incentivize short term gains. Disney is a STELLAR example of this problem. Still, this had nothing to do with CP's failure. The issues with that game run deeper than "it released 3 months too early." Like Ubisoft's cope over SW: Outlaws, it's just deflection. Glen can't admit that his team never had a solid approach for how to mix the horror and action elements, which affected a gameplay systems, the story, and even level design... The game needed more than 3 months extra.

Giving out excuses as to why your game failed and trying to shift blame when you so proudly put your face on the project to drive sales is the peak of pettyness. The guy should take the loss in the chin and move on with his career with the understanding his name is worthless from here on out, no matter the circumstances around the failure of this game.

I genuinely want to know how they managed to fuck up with a boss that badly. Forces you to fight it guns only and if you don’t you get slapped by a unavoidable attack and if you don’t have enough ammo YOUR SAVE LITERALLY GETS BRICKED. Like that is a impressively bad fuckup to the point it almost seems intentionally badly designed.
