If any of the crew is interested in a unique take on Bloodborne's themes of birth and motherhood, I recommend Honey Bat's "Visceral Femininity: A Bloodborne Video Essay." It's such a great dive into the icky parts of humanity we avoid, or try to look at with detachment so we don't let it affect us. In addition, I think it really helps capture the horror of pregnancy and birth, which can be hard to comprehend for the people that can't experience it (or wish to avoid it). If you want to get uncomfortable and experience a new angle of Bloodborne, I cannot recommend it more!!

I have a few issues with BB personally, I still love it, one of my favorites, but I think if these issues were addressed, it'd be perfect to me: - Disable gesture X + motion controls option - Move jump from dodge button to its own button (L3 is unused , let me switch it to that) - Camera needs fixing, especially on big bosses - Target lock on needs to be improved to work better based on camera/enemy position and not unlock as easily - More weapons/armor would be nice. - Hunter's Mark, Death from co-op, etc should restock supplies (if any in box) instead of ALWAYS having to go back to Hunter's Dream - Adapt the Elden Ring system to choose things to automatically restock from box. - Blood Vials and Bullets being farmable. The issue I can see is that most enemies won't drop much without em lol. Most of those can be easily patched in, honestly. And some would require little development cost even at this point. Others would take more like more armor/weapons :P I have way more issues with Elden Ring though. And I think BB is more challenging than Elden Ring, cause you can really break Elden Ring harder, you can't do it as much in BB. Some things you can trivialize (like holy shit Arcane only, as in stat at 99 and nothing else, can make Ebrietas a joke, but Ludwig is a pain), but makes others harder.

Couple things. You have to do a Mad Lib to end the show every time. That was just fantastic. My favorite thing about Bloodborne is the interconnected world with the short cuts. And also how Insight is used. It’s just incredible. My least favorite thing about Bloodborne is starting a new character progressing through the opening only to gather a ton of echos and not be able to level up until you gather 1 insight. This is the current reason I am stuck at the beginning of the game after I lost my save file. Lol. I really liked the breakdown of the story and themes. It was a very good discussion to listen to. The only guess I can think of for why the game somehow hasn't gotten ported is maybe the source code is a mess, akin to Team Fortress 2's spaghetti code. The thing is, I've seen modders port over Bloodborne assets into Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring, including bosses and outfits.

I'm usually pretty vocal about hating how fast the games have become because it feels less like "oh whoops, got killed because of a mistake" and more like "oh whoops got killed because I wasn't quick enough/didn't see what was happening". But Bloodborne's still my favorite Fromsoftware game. I've been trying to find why that is and I haven't been successful yet. My favorite weapon is kinda hard. I love the Stakedriver just because it was the one I beat the game with for the first time (Falcon PAWNCH all day) but the Threaded Cane is really nice as well. Not the most effective thing in the world even when used well, but really fun because of the crowd control of the whip. Love the Sour Hour double serving btw. No editing down needed imo.

Bit of a correction on the Make Contact gesture. Your character is actually doing it entirely correctly, if im right. Your hunter has to exactly count to two minutes (or whatever time it is) to properly make contact. The doll will applaud you at how perfect you are with it, haha. My favorite weapon in BB is the Church Pick. A scythe type weapon that does piercing AND righteous damage? AND also deals bonus damage to beasts like serrated weapons? hell yeah. Also a big fan of the Kirkhammer and LHB. Also, just to clarify because I don't see it in the comments. Malenia is one of the Lore-important bosses in Elden Ring, but she's not required to beat the game. Hell, half of the Lore-heavy bosses are optional in the game. Malenia is ER's equivalent of the optional superboss in old JRPGs

Got the chance to start my souls journey with the release of Dark Souls 3 and fell in love immediately by playing it with friends. During Covid two buddies and I platinumed Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, and Bloodborne. The differences in mechanics and playstyles made everything so fresh. Sad to say that my hardest boss was Micolash. Those damn tentacles!

Honestly, out of the From games I've played much of, Bloodborne is my least favorite. I think it's for the very reasons that people like the rally system, which is that I don't enjoy playing super aggressively. My playstyle in games tends more towards countering or hit and run tactics using a lot of dodging or ranged attacks. Bloodborne though tends to force you more into being constantly aggressive and constantly tackling stuff head on. You can counter and all but it's a lot more strict on the timing and you have to use a consumable, (bullets), to do it. Most people seem to prefer a more aggressive playstyle, which is probably a big part of why so many love Bloodborne and also why so many struggled hard with Sekiro when it first came out since it has a bigger focus on waiting for openings and countering attacks. Meanwhile I just never really enjoyed Bloodborne but Sekiro became the first soulslike game I fully finished. It just comes down to a difference in preferences.

The Cipher Patas. So, with Mergot she is the figure you see after Rom and before the Wetnurse. Her stomach is bloodied, so what happened was that people started becoming blood-starved and killed her while she was still pregnant and basically ripped the baby out. This is how the beasthood started. The cages, like Micolash wears, were to prevent the issue of people's heads exploding with eyes. They would implant eyes in order to communicate with the Greater Ones. Ludwig implanted them in his throat, and when he transformed he was riding his horse and they ended molding into each other. This is why he has a horse form and during the cutscenes you can see eyes lining his throat. Rom was the Great One they found in the catacombs. In fact if you go through the crypts you fight Rom again. This is where they found him. It does require special blood, as Annalise gives you a vial of blood that restores health and enables better stamina recovery. Literally I was thinking to myself, "this is great why can't I just start mass producing her blood vials just make her keep giving blood.........yea, that's what caused this problem in the first place." The power of the blood was intoxicating, to the point that people literally attacked and killed Mergot and her unborn child.

I really wish I could play this game on PC...I have resigned myself to never playing it at this point...Weirdly Bloodborne is the reason I got into souls game in the first place though! I was watching a Gameranx video about it and I tried to download it only to find out it was PS only, but I saw that the same company made Dark Souls so I bought that instead...A few thousand hours later, and they are my favorite games ever!

@@strelnagaming Not for PS4 games, unfortunately...Computers are not powerful enough to emulate a PS4 games even if they did figure out how to do it...I just built a new high end PC and it still struggles to emulate some PS3 games above 25fps...There is always hope that Sony will pull its head out of its ass and let them do a port of it, but it's not looking good considering how long it's been

I've beaten Elden Ring a few times with a couple different characters then I went and played Bloodborne for the first time. Other that Cleric Beast and Gasbag giving a few issues as I was getting used to the parry and rally system I found most of the bosses pretty easy and beat several on my first try, yes including Orphan just don't hiss at me, lol. They felt like toned down Elden Ring bosses. Bloodborne is the only FS game I didn't use a Str. build for, that threaded cane was way too much aesthetic fun and really is a versatile weapon.

I think theimain issue mentioned as some point about Sekiro is that there is no build or item variety. It is a game that you need to play the way it is intended to play. Combat is great, but there is no player agency in building your character.

Backlogs has beat Sekiro once. He's acknowledged it's not really his thing. His menality when beating a game is "ok, now I wanna do something completely different next playthrough". So if you jump into the game wanting to do challenges or quirky playstyles, you might not enjoy the game. Sekiro is an Action game, not a game about builds or RPG elements. As someone who loves that game, I genuinely advise anyone interested in it to not treat it like a Souls game. That mentality does the game a disservice and you'll probably enjoy it less as a result of trying to treat it like something else.

Talking about Monster Hunter, that game does an amazing job with its camera. The camera will dynamically change depending on what the monster will do. For example, if the monster you are hubting is preparing to do a large AoE attack, the camera will zoom back just enough for you to see what is going on and where you can run to. Elden Ring/Bloodborne has none of this. Good luck doding AoEs.

I'm so tired of all these soulslikes trying to "copy" bloodborne and sekiro with their parry/blocking focused style combat. Bloodborne did it amazingly well, I'm not the biggest fan of sekiro but even it did its own thing well. It started with the surge 2 and its just been a huge decline since then.

Lies Of P and Mortal Shell (no... Armored Core isn't a soulslike) are excellent soulslike. I get where you're coming from. For some good ones you get a ton of bad ones that try faintly to mimic but fail...
