I am far from being a 24 year old park rider. I am a 64 year old skier who first put on ski boots in 1962, I have skied every year of my life since and taught skiing for 35 years. I came from high end race boots into FT’s back in 2010. Warmest and most comfortable boots yet but as a super technical skier if I could not carve and get the performance of my race boots, I would not have kept them. Luckily for me I still look like a total 1970’s hot dog superstar so the park vibe is not a ridiculous look for me,haha…..I can say seriously that as an aggressive expert experienced skier, I really care little about trends or sweet graphics, for me it’s all about the turns and my best turns have happened in my FT’s. Too bad 2022 is the end of that era, I hope that K2 doesn’t f%!{% the boots up.

The classics with the harder tongue are great boots for powerfull skiing. Many people just watch like "wtf, whats this oldskool shit" but they fall silent after i carved circles around them. ;)

I owned a pair of classics with the 100% cable system and now own B&E's with the modified system. The original all cable system is fine in terms of adjustment options. I'd say it's almost if not just as adjustable as the modified system. The only problem is the durability. For me at least, the full cable system was much more prone to cables snapping as well as the adjustment buckles themselves getting jammed. It wasn't that big of a deal but I eventually sold them and the kid the bought them off me broke 2 more of the adjustment cables like a week later. So for me personally I like the B&E system better because it seems to last longer.

I’ve owned a pair of full tilts for 4 years now with the cable system, and the only thing that broke this far was the middle buckle, so I’d say they’re very durable. But I might’ve been lucky idk tho.

All I gotta say is get some booster straps, transfer so much more energy through turns compared to a stock power strap.

you want intuition liners. dont get full tilts without the good liners

I had descendant 4s for some years and now ride dropkicks. Only problem with the descendants in my opinion is the arch of my foot also cramped and over time and i saw the cushioning in the tongue became less comfortable over time. The dropkicks are not as flexible as the descendants but are definitely more comfortable and more responsive. I also had to replace the sole on the descendants twice from busting it, but that may just be from stomping hard landings on jumps.

full clip system probably works a LOT better. I wore old flexon comps for years, best fitting and riding boot ever. any ski boot should be custom fit to the individual. paying full price and getting the boot dialed in is a key to comfort.

2015 full tilt classics single cable. I think theres more adjustment than the clips however they are a HUGE pain to find exactly where you want them, where as the clips i feel you could find your “sweet spot” and always adjust it to that point.

I bought technica mach 1s for the same retail as full tilts, full tilt just doesnt make wide enough boots and I needed a boot that could easily be punched because of my odd foot shape. With my old boots they were actaully grinding on my anklebone and I have tissue degeneration there now

It will totally be personal preference. I tried the Plush and holy hell, they were just too wide(which didn't make a difference in the shop, but made a HUGE difference on the mountain.) I tried a pair of Tom Wallisch's in the shop and immediately noticed a discomfort in the top of my arch/instep once I buckled tight. Hated it. I have the Soul Sisters now and I haven't had any issues, I adore them! Many of my coworkers like the Drop Kicks, but you just have to realize that everybody's foot is different. One person's dream boot will be another person's nightmarish hell boot. I would recommend finding a shop that stocks them and spending like 3 hours there trying em all out til you've decided.

They're not a re-creation - it's just a rename as the company changed hand a few times. What they really are, are space moon boot Nasa technology where you could get foot/ankle articulation but still have a hard spacesuit to maintain an environment for a human to survive in. The guy who designed it for NASA, ended up bringing the idea to skiing. And now the name is no more again - and they will be called K2s.

Haha. The tongue is not innovative at all. They just bought the Raichle design.
@nickcowen45656 жыл бұрын
I had full tilts fitted at a shop and they still didn't feel right when skiing on them far too soft to be used all over the mountain but great park and street skis. the intuition liner was the worst bit as it wraps around there was part of my leg with lots of pressure and i got bruises from this pressure. go for a full tilt boot if you only ski park and i mean if you never ski anything else and if not buy the stiffest full tilts you can get and get a traditional liner with the cable and buckle combo.

cant fault the impact protection in the heel and how easy they are to get into, also super light weight

That tree skiing footage was painful to watch! Nobody ever taught you how to use you pole straps??? BRO!!!!!! Lean forward and make pole plants! Half the reason people get shin-bang is because they were leaning back in their ski boots for the whole ski season smh....... FULL TILTs for life! just tell people to get the FT CLASSICS --- the hype is real but unless you are competing in moguls or slopestyle you dont need any of the fancy pro models.

My shin was split open during that trip, a major reason for not leaning forward haha. I was backseat in all of my Killy clips for that reason.

I was ski racing in 1988 in Koflachs, then Technicas and then Langes- ouch friggin ouch ! every spring forced to skip skiing the last few weeks of soft snow ruined by shin bang.... aka Lange Bang. when I started coaching skiing in my junior year I was in Raichles loving life.. thank you NASA! then when Raichle went under we were sad for a minute ,,,but Plake jumped on with Dalbello and we were back in the game!! but thank Jesus that FT bought Raichles original mold back because Dalbellos are friggin heavy compared to my FT classics.
