Hi! My name is Barbara, most people call me Barb. I am originally from a small country called Slovenia but I currently work & live in California. I started making videos about my country as a way to stay connected to it but later on also started to share my experience in the US as a foreigner. This channel documents things I have learned, cultural shocks, cultural differences, life in Slovenia and abroad and occasional stream of thought videos. This is why I love Barb. She’s so honest and forthcoming. Being what we in trades call a “Safety Sally” is detrimental to moving forward. Know your limitations for sure but always do more to move the goal posts of the limitations. Like you said one day youll look back and say “I was afraid of that?” Great video Barb ❤

About four months ago I got into depression, hell didn't even realize it until halfway thru, while there were many causes the primary reason was comfort zone. Finally after 4 months I got so uncomfortable in the comfort zone that I decided to get out of it little by little and boy I feel so much better. You are right about taking it little by little, every time I tried to get out of the comfort zone I wanted to get from start to finish in one step not taking into consideration those baby steps that are so important. Thank you Barbara for this video, it definitely helps, comfort zones have been on my mind lately as well. Oh and if anyone feels like giving some advice, please, you are more than welcome.

Expanding _your_ comfort zone is the key and I have no problem with that. But when _other_ people tell you to do this and that _and_ demand you to get out of your comfort zone, then I have a problem. In those cases the people are demanding you to do something that is in their comfort zone, not yours. So the key is what you yourself want to do and how to achieve that. Very interesting topic overall.

Oh Miss Barbra the Comfort Zone is Not only Clothes but can be in your Favorite place or Favorite Foods & Deserts like Real Mac & Cheese , Mashed potatoes & Gravy or even Ice Cream or if your A Vegetarian perhaps Watermelon or Mangos 😂😂😂😂 As always the like button ✅ has been illuminated !!! Can relate to this topic sooo fukoshima much. That bi*#&#, I call it Bunny. We had been fighting a lot in the past. Now I have to explain it that I'll be ok and thanks for caring. But some days I give up and stay at home in the comfort of four walls. Not just the new experience, also well known are sometimes a struggle. Best thing is, when you get the idea, grab your keys and just go. Bunny will not have time to produce various of scenarios which can but most probably won't happen. Congrats Barbs, awesome topic. Best therapy I could get against my comfort zone was getting my a&& on a motorbike some months ago. On a motorbike you either break your comfort zone or a body part. And yeah something tells you to stop the whole time but it's just so much fun, it's addictive!

The comfort zone describes a state someone is comfortable in staying in. That habit itself sort of is a comfort. New and healthier things can be hard to go through when trauma is not healed. The word makes a lot of sense if you really look into it. I think the word comes from behavioral biology so it is to be seen more scientifically than emotionally.

This video was very inspirational and very encouraging right now. I am finally finding myself. I am stepping out of what everyone wants me to be and finding who I really am for the first time. Thankfully I have a very supportive husband and best friend, but it's still really scary. But it's also really exciting, fun, and the happiest I've ever been. I still have a long way to go, but its worth it. Thank you for this video❤️

Maybe what you are describing isn’t comfort zone but “being stuck”? When you are in a comfort zone you don’t need anything or anyone or so you think. And when you realise that you are not in a comfort zone but you are stuck then you are making steps moving on.

A comfort zone within a comfort zone. You create several circles of comfort zones around you, from the most comfortable to the least comfortable, and then you live within them. You then reduce or increase the number of these zones, depending on the moment you are living in, so you are somehow always in the comfort zone 🤔

All my grandparents were from Slovenia, and I have noticed that I and other Slovenians in America enjoy running up hills and walking backwards down them. I wouldn't say lost years of your life; I would say that you grew emotionally.

Comfort zone is like a prison you build for yourself. When i have to do things out of my comfort, i don´t think´, i just act. Occupy your thoughts with something else and just instinctively do what you have to do. That´s how i ran 3k in cooper´s test ones.

I don't think you understand how nice we have it. You see, the only reason we have trouble learning skills and doing hard things is because even on a bad day we are super comfortable. No one is going to force you to do something life threatening today, am I right? If someone sitting in a trench in Ukraine was presented with an opportunity to learn a skill and get out of that mess as soon as he learned it, he would have no issues at all getting started or motivated. You present the same opportunity to someone who lives a normal mundane life, and they will procrastinate, sabotage themselves and just postpone the entire thing because their life doesn't really depend on it. If you have the privilege of choosing whether to do/learn something or not, that's already more comfort than many people around the world will ever experience.
