I'm not very good at cooking. Warming this up, sure, somehow just knowing good combinations of flavors or textures, definitely, but *cooking* is often out of my reach. Surprised that no one has mentioned how often women have to lose all of their hobbies when they become mothers while men still play video games, fish, golf and go to bars with their friends. Because a women's life is inside the home, even if she works she is expected to sacrifice her identity for her children. Think about typical father's day gifts? Golf clubs, tool sets, game passes and other hobby based gear. What do mothers get? flowers and a giftcard to the spa because she deserves a damn break for once.

" Never cry in front of your girl " toxic masculinity is all they preach . What scares me is the amount of likes they get . a lot of men are following their advice and are really inspired by these sh*theads.
@amiralcookie32212 жыл бұрын
Not really men but a lot of teenagers who are in full development, who are changing from kids to adults and are very easily persuaded by what they hear, and they find these podcats that put the blame on everyone except themselves and they find it appealing and easy. So they start believing in all the bs they say and continue to live by those stigmas.

damn im really proud of myself for not being like those shitheads (im a 15yr boi hehe ) and knowing how to cook and clean! which is like the most basic thing you can ask for in any person. its kinda sad that many people dont know how to even cook which is like a basic human function lmao

Seeing just how popular and common these alpha male/red pull types are has made me way more cautious and not as liking or trusting of males in general since every view and like they get mostly comes from real ass men.

@@amiralcookie3221 I suspect more men are following this advice. The men who watch this stuff are probably the ones in their early twenties who regret the career decisions they've made, can't flirt, have poor social skills etc.

The same dudes who insist they hate makeup, are also always the guys who think everyone who wears it has a naturally even skin tone, vibrant red/pink/mauve lips, even blushing, dark even eyebrows, and fucking naturally outlined eyes with a wing. If you don't look like that everyday, their advice is almost always, of course, to "Just wear a little makeup. Why are you letting yourself go like that?"
@mariannecontrino62972 жыл бұрын
Yep, was thinking the same exact thing!!! They'll criticize women for wearing "too much makeup" in one breath, then mock those that choose to wear none in the next. Damned if you do, damned if you don't....

I've gotten crap for wearing mascara from a colleague and dudes own girlfriend wore mascara and he didn't even know it apparently. I told him to his face. Another time I remember at a pub was I had "crap on my face" (black eyeliner. That was it) and the "natural" example was Kardashian 20 products because it conformed to beauty stereotypes and not subcultures (he was a friend of a friend of a friend. His girlfriend told him she loved him during sex and he just pulled out, pants up and walked out. That guy).
@taranullius92212 жыл бұрын
I also like "boyfriend does my makeup" videos. The sheer number of them that say they want something "natural" and then put on blue eyeshadow and red lipstick is truly fascinating. It's a recurring theme. Blue eyeshadow. What possessed you guy?

I remember about 3 or 4 years ago, Jack Denmo was doing pretty middle-grade prank content (usually harmless stuff; I ended up in one of him tripping and shattering a jack-o-lantern in my campus plaza?) around the universities in my area, and about two years ago he got banned from a bunch of campuses over causing disturbances or for his alleged sexual assault. As soon as he didn't have students to bother or hit on, he just sort of doubled down on the whole sexual harrasment and "alpha" shit? He had a huge following in my area back during my undergrad, but has lost any and all cultural relevancy at those schools since.

Anyone else noticing a distinct uptick in men online feeling comfortable to be sexist and hate women openly? Little worrying
@Inevitably_Invisible2 жыл бұрын
I think part of it is algorithms, like an echo chamber. One person with these ideas will find everyone else with the same ones. and the more they click the more they see. When in the real world their ideas are actually super unrealistic fucked up and super misogynistic. same thing happens with politics and misinformation on social media so you don’t see both sides of the story, the “alpha males” only see more alpha males and think “this is ok” because they lack critical thinking and don’t look at literally anything else...
@ThrowAway-gu2lw2 жыл бұрын
Like with the "alpha male" videos? I thought that those are just popular nowadays because people like to laugh at them. I haven't noticed misogyny being more common other than that but that's just my personal experience.

I feel like part of it's because of the pandemic, there's been a bit of a boost for podcasts and a lot of people have started making them - and unfortunately this is some of what you get! A rando in a room just saying whatever lazy bad opinions pop into his head while another guy goes "oh word" But another thing is that the right wing knows that media is important for getting their ideas across and setting a narrative, so you get a lot of conservative shows, podcasts etc, and they encourage other conservatives to get involved and spread their ideology. So that could be why we're seeing a lot more of these attitudes, and media and communities based around them - they've always been there, they're just making an effort to normalise it

As an 18 year old Asian Boi, I don’t understand why people are hating on these podcasts so much. Personally I’ve actually learned a lot from them, such as: girls don’t poop, gravity doesn’t effect them the same way it does the boys and only men have hobbies (girls are essentially just vegetables)
