If you're a man in your 20s and you think "women need to cook and clean," then there's a good chance you yourself don't posses those necessary survival skills. Instead you needed to trick some unlucky girl into being your mom for you because you're too lazy. If you're a man, woman, somewhere in-between, whatever: learn how to cook, clean your own house, and do your own damn laundry. Your quality of life will improve, and potential partners of any gender will find it extremely attractive.

You hit the nail on the head with the “they seem like they’ve never had a conversation with a woman they weren’t trying to date or sleep with” AND I would add that 1. If women did try to engage and open up with them, these dudes probably wouldn’t actually listen to what they said about themselves and 2. It’s pretty unlikely that women would even attempt to open up or share things about their life with them. These men are so invested in the old patriarchal worldview that paints women as vapid subhumans that they refuse to actually do anything that might examine the veracity of that worldview. Like they only pay attention to or acknowledge women who fit into their ideological box.

I feel like part of it's because of the pandemic, there's been a bit of a boost for podcasts and a lot of people have started making them - and unfortunately this is some of what you get! A rando in a room just saying whatever lazy bad opinions pop into his head while another guy goes "oh word" But another thing is that the right wing knows that media is important for getting their ideas across and setting a narrative, so you get a lot of conservative shows, podcasts etc, and they encourage other conservatives to get involved and spread their ideology. So that could be why we're seeing a lot more of these attitudes, and media and communities based around them - they've always been there, they're just making an effort to normalise it

@adrian ramirez these kind of men, ironically, are only interested in very « feminine » women that are interested in make up and fashion, but they don’t consider that an hobby. They say they would like to find a woman with « real hobbies » like sports, but they never looked or show interest to the sporty women who don’t wear make up and act more « masculine », because they are simply not sexually attractive to them. I know a lot of women in my university that were single and struggle to find a man because they were « to feminine enough » for the males. These men are just lying to themselves and being hypocrit. I know what their favorite hobby is: blaming women for their own poor choice and their hypocrisy. Surprisingly, all the very feminine women that loved fashion and make up, the hot ones were chased by these same men. The ones that tell that they didn’t have hobbies except make up and fashion, the one that said that they switch speeches according to the context of the situation or their interlocutor. In front of women it was « men will date any decent women » « We actually want women that are sporty, that have hoodies ». In front of the boys it was « men I want a feminine women, I will date the cheerleaders ». That’s when I discovered that, because some men friends exposed these facts, then I realized that hypocrisy and lying was a common trait that a lot of share. They think women are too stupid that there is a HUGE difference between what they say and how they act. They are full of contradictions.

It's a red flag for you to have a problem with women wanting to enjoy their lives and the simple pleasure of putting makeup on their faces. They're not hurting anyone, just like men aren't hurting anyone if they choose to grow a beard or not. Yet you could say the bearded man you went to bed with is not the same if he wakes up and shaves it off. You'd be a terrible partner if you couldn't recognize your girlfriend with or without makeup, and you'd be even worse if you didn't love her both ways. Let people enjoy themselves. As someone with a degree in Exercise Physiology, I’d like to point out that anatomically & physiologically, it’s much more difficult for women to get ripped. We males already start off with more lean muscle mass, which is more anabolic than adipose tissue (aka fat), so our metabolism is generally faster than our female counterparts. Then you factor in the copious amounts of testosterone that we produce, versus the relatively small amount that females produce, and it’s just a lot easier for males to get ripped. It really bugs me that little boys like these two are spreading misinformation and trying to downplay the massive hard work women put in, on top of having to do so much more than us on a daily basis. Let’s be real, women will catch a cold, still feed their kids, get them ready for school, work all day, come home and cook dinner…while a lot of men will lay in bed all day and act like they’re dying and some will even have their gf/wife (who’s also sick) fix them their meals and bring them NyQuil or cold medicine to their bed! I’ve seen it happen so many times. 😜

Haha, thank you for pointing this out. I thought something similar (though in less detail lol) when I heard him say that - I was like, "wait, aren't men naturally more muscular than an average woman is, and shouldn't that make it easier for them to get in shape?" Not to mention that I recently have been learning about how a woman's hormonal cycles can affect things like stamina and such. But I guess we don't have to deal with gravity, so that balances it out.

@@aerialpunk There are so many factors that affect the ability to put on lean muscle mass. I was just touching on the top of the iceberg. It’s really scary that men like these two dickheads exist. They’re the kinds of guys who would shrivel up and die if they didn’t have women around to take care of them! I’m so glad that my blue collar dad believed in women’s equality and was super supportive of my mom, who actually out earned him. PS - You know what really bothers me? This is all true but I would also keep in mind that the ideal level of physical fitness for women is much less extreme than the ideal level of fitness for men. For women it’s basically just be in a healthy body fat range and be fairly toned. For men, it’s to go much past that and having abs and biceps and all. So keeping this in mind, the amount of work reaching the ideal fitness level requires between the sexes would probably even out, if not be more difficult for men.
@SeanShimamoto
@SeanShimamoto 2 жыл бұрын
@@katpage9378 You’re talking about your perceived ideal societal expectations of the physiques of men and women. When you’re talking about something that’s massively subjective, and coupled with a tremendously vague and inexact notion like the “ideal level of physical fitness”…that’s only going to yield extremely unreliable and unrepeatable results. Let’s just take men…a very small percentage of men that I know think that the ideal level of physical fitness is having abs, ripped biceps, bulging pecs, etc. I would argue that most men would think that the ideal level of physical fitness would #1 vary depending on one’s age, #2 vary depending on their occupation, #3 vary depending on the number of dependents in their household, #4 vary depending on their family health history, #5 would vary depending on each man’s injury and past athleticism history, etc. But if we were to lump all men into one category, I think the vast majority of men would say that the ideal level of physical fitness would be to not have a beer belly, to be able to walk up several flights of stairs without getting winded, to have some muscle tone & definition in their major muscle groups, and to be physically active 3-4 days per week. Just in America, almost 3/4 of men are overweight or obese…so ideal is the level of physical fitness that gets them to where they’re not overweight or obese. Now if you said “optimum”, “pinnacle”, “apex”, or any other synonym of “at the very top end”…then it’s a whole different story. But the word “ideal” can range from “perfect” & “fantastical” to “suitable” & “abstract”. That’s why I stuck with a biological, anatomical & physiological stance. There’s far less room for subjectivity and interpretation, and my comment is bound by precedents…so it forces me to limit the mention of my biases, which just unnecessarily muddies the water IMO. For the record, I see what you’re saying, and I can understand your assertions…I just think it’s too loosely tied to this topic, but that’s just my opinion…the opinion of a nobody. 😄

Surprised that no one has mentioned how often women have to lose all of their hobbies when they become mothers while men still play video games, fish, golf and go to bars with their friends. Because a women's life is inside the home, even if she works she is expected to sacrifice her identity for her children. Think about typical father's day gifts? Golf clubs, tool sets, game passes and other hobby based gear. What do mothers get? flowers and a giftcard to the spa because she deserves a damn break for once.
