Back in her country, tival fans hate her for being frank and being a dominant serial wimner with Chelsea, calling her arrogant and disrespectful. But players of her club paint a different picture of her. And just a few days of knowing her, players of the USWNT are expressing the same views about her as her former club players.

Lily Yohannes is truely amazing. Her vision on the field and way she smoothly plays even when tackling is so deceptive. Once she becomes physically stronger..look out. Right now she probably should be a starter...but also bringing her out slowly makes sense as well. Looks like this team will be difficult to beat...esp. when the subs were put on the pitch. Ms Hayes also has that wicked British dry sense of humor that is loveable. She is exactly what the USWNT needed. On to another topic..It was so evident that Morgan's time is over. The king is dead long live the King

She did well for her debut, but let’s not get carried away. She needs time to adjust, get bigger, stronger, and develop chemistry. Tell me who she should start over? Horan? Coffey? Lavell? Give her time and she’ll be great, but that time isn’t this summer.

After a one week camp?! This week was mostly about getting girls on the pitch and seeing who should be in the 18. It’s going to take time to develop her system. I saw lots of good things and lots of things that need work. As long as the girls respond to Emma we will be back on top. We have way too much talent to not be. Thinking about some of the names that will be left out is stunning. Alex Morgan, Alyssa Thompson, Lynn Williams, Krueger, Dahlkemper, etc. could be left out. Some big names will be cut for sure.

Emma is such a realist. I think she and her team can be trusted to choose the right squad. They have the skill and the insight. We as the public SEE the piercing runs and goals but not knowing the game plan and expectations, we sometimes miss what a coach is looking at especially in terms of a game plan...plus we don't see what they see during training. If Alex isn't in the 18, I think she'd be a good alternate so her presence is felt. I still have my fingers crossed for Andi Sullivan.

Not being offensive but it's amusing to read that Americans realised Emma is interesting. People who watch the WSL know her as tough, intelligent with great insights. She takes care and protects her players too. She's a good commentator as well. Now you know why Chelsea fans were crying when she decided to leave. It's the right time to get her as manager because the US was used to winning against the semi professionals. With many countries having full time players, Emma is the right coach to get them back to winning ways and spank the egos in the US team.

To say Chelsea fans were crying over the loss of Emma Hayes is a little over the top! In fact many wanted a change of coach owing to Hayes inability to dominate in Europe!! ……There are certainly no tears to be found amongst Chelsea supporters with Sonia Bompastor’s appointment as head coach! Chelsea will be the team to beat in Europe this coming season….Go Chelsea Go!!!
@DerekLangdon2 ай бұрын
I was there the day she left. It was a polite send off. But no tears were to be seen. Only an air of excitement, knowing that Sonia Bompastor was confirmed as the new Chelsea coach! Chelsea supporters are frustrated over the lack of European success, despite having some of best players in Europe! …Free of Hayes coaching constraints, and under the guidance of Bompastor’s attacking style of play, Chelsea are on course to rule Europe.

What a strange comment. Are you saying the 2015 and 2019 world cups were won against semi-pros? Because if you look at those late-stage WC opponents they were mostly professionals. Especially in 2019 when they beat Spain, France, England, and Netherlands. In 2015 it was Germany & Japan.

It was Chelsea money that developed Chelsea women. Not Hayes! In fact, I firmly believe Hayes was close to losing her coaching role with Chelsea! She was given an open cheque book and spent freely on some of the top international players around the world. But she remained a perennial loser in European competition. I thank the football God’s for her departure every night, and now look forward to the new season of hope and not despair!
