The Beatles performing “Hello, Goodbye.”
When The Beatles began recording what would become their third single to be released in 1967, its working title was ‘Hello, Hello’. The single sat at No.1 in both the UK and America for the first three weeks of 1968.
Paul directed the promotional film for ‘Hello, Goodbye’, remarking later: “Directing a film is something that everyone always wants to get into. It was something I’d always been interested in, until I actually tried it. ... There was so much of that going on - so many decisions to be made - that I ended up hating it.”
“I just ran out there: ‘Get a shot of this! Do this for a bit now! Let’s have a shot there! Get a close-up of him! Get the girls on their own! Go back there! Get a wide angle! We’ll edit it, we’ll make it work.’”
The video debuted on the Ed Sullivan Show, Sunday 26 November 1967.

I remember seeing this on TV when it came out. It's easy, now, to overlook how very, very unusual this was at the time. Paul had an extraordinary amount of creativity. He still does, I'm sure. I love the operatic ending then the hula dancers - completely bizarre.

And what a horrible song they think to themselves.. oh sure... ANY OF THEM could have written and pushed to record a better one. Yes.. John's I Am the Walrus might have been a more worthy A-side. But heck.. George was too busy becoming a Hare Krishna to sit there in a house for a week or two and REALLY WRITE A SONG or two that might have fit into the Magical Mystery Tour film that was a little more compelling than Blue Jay Way... but who's counting. Yeah.. maybe when they were planning a video to accompany the next single.. the others could have come up with a more inspired film idea.. but hey.. there's Paul AGAIN saying... ok let's do this. So yes.. the most revolutionary and bizarre thing about this video is that the 3 Beatles can't be arsed to do it but did it anyway and then 18 months later broke up because this was such torture for them and they had so much MORE important stuff to do.

​@blahbruh3762 for some reason some people think Paul died in mid way through his time with the beatles and was replaced, which btw would mean "Billy" would be as if not more talented than "original Paul" considering the number of hits he wrote before and after the motorcycle incident he was in that they think killed him. Billy's just some bloke from Scotland that happened to look vaguely like Paul and they sort of go from there with plastic surgery and cover ups n stuff. How they think he plastic surgery'd his way out of a Scottish accent and into decades of songwriting genius that is fairly inline with everything he did up to that point I will never understands. This theories been around since the 60s, so the people that still believe it are usually just not worth trying to convince otherwise.
