There were no "political parties" in the first election under the Constitution. It was a forgone conclusion that Washington was going to be POTUS under the new government. In fact, Washington in his farewell address stated "However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." The War of 1812 was when our Star Spangled Banner was written. Theres another song about the War of 1812 called, The Battle of New Orleans by Johnny Horton. Its satirical song , the lyrics are quite funny. Check it out.

Prior to passage of the 12th Amendment in 1803, whomever received the most votes was President, and the runner-up was Vice President. So, Thomas Jefferson actively campaigning against John Adams isn't surprising, as they had always been political rivals.

The 6 frigates were built to reduce damage from cannon balls. Many sailors were killed or injured from flying splinters.

The Mameluke sword is only allowed to be worn by officers. enlisted personnel of the rank of Corporal and above are allowed to wear a sword that is based on the US Army Cavalry sword.

The Fat Electrician is AWESOME! All of his stuff is fantastic. His storytelling is hilarious!
You should check out the fat electrician video of "American KC 135 pilot trolls Russia" video about the plane that does the refueling in air. The video " 450 men vs. Imperial Japanese Navy". " A1 sky raider trolls enemy with toilet" and my favorite " infamous eager beavers and the custom B17 bomber called old 666". The old 666 story I think has his S.T.E.A.L. quote in it.

As a Marine I can tell you one thing: It doesn't matter how many planes, tanks, or infantry the US has. The favorite branch of the US military has always been and will always be the Navy.

Hurrah for my favorite British couple reacting to another awesome video from my favorite American historian! 😀 And an ouch for the sickest burn I've seen Mrs. Electrician drop on TFE. 😀 They may be scripted exchanges, but they are awesome anyway. 😛 Also, most cargo pants now come standard with a cellphone pocket, so they are my preferred pants.

The Beesleys ~ our beloved singer Toby Keith just died last month. He went to heaven to be with God. He sang the song: Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue. We are profoundly sadden here in Oklahoma.

Complete gentleman he was. I was with a group of marine corps friends at a concert. My only time seeing Toby Keith. He invited all current and former military to walk on the stage so he could shake their hands and thank them. My buddy literally had a puppy named “Toby” at the time. Watching him star struck right after coming home from Iraq was a memory I’ll never forget.

The Barbary wars were not exactly the US’s strongest showing in a war. Basically the entire point was to stop piracy along the coast of Africa except it didn’t exactly work out. The problem was we didn’t actually have a real navy at the time and hence we knew nothing about sailing. The battles were fierce just when we did kill a well known pirate captain it wouldn’t matter as another infamous pirate would take their place in quick succession. It was a revolving door of pirates and it just wouldn’t stop. Literally it went on for four years before America withdrew from the area and found a much better route to get cargo to where it needed to go. Basically we left the Barbary coast alone and the pirates never bothered again. Literally it shoot a few guns withdraw and do it again at every battle.

Except we did get agreements and concessions at the end. Plus the Barbary states faded into history because the US inspired everyone else to fight back.
