Lord Jesus, I humbly pray for myself, Father Mike, & all the people participating in the Bible-in-Year podcast. I do not know all their needs, but you do, Lord. I offer them to you with confidence that you hear our prayers. May your word take deep root in our hearts & transform our ways of thinking, discerning, and acting. May your grace open our ears to hear & understand and revere & treasure both the Old & the New Testaments which God has prepared for all who desire to enter his kingdom. Please send us your Holy Spirit to give us the Spirit of Knowledge, that we may know God and know ourselves. Give us the grace to approach the Word of God with meekness & humility, & with an eagerness to do everything God desires. Please give me the grace to set aside my intellect and my know-it-all attitude and let your Word speak to my heart and my soul. Help us to be diligent students & faithful disciples of your Word. May our hearts never grow dull & may our ears never tire of listening to your voice. Thank you and praise you for the gift of perseverance and for nourishing us with your word! Amen.

Before we went to mass on Sunday, while we were getting ready, I turned on Fr. Mike leading mass. My husband asked, "Why are you watching mass before we go to mass?" And I was like, "Cause it's our friend Mike!" Listening to his Sunday homilies and the bible in a year podcast has felt like sitting and listening to an old friend.

Very good of you! This is the way God works: some people receive God's grace from one priest, others from another priest. That's why we need to love each other, work for the glory of God and be glad when we hear that a particular priest or layman is drawing many people to God. I’m publishing a weekly KZbin video on episodes from the life of Don Bosco, entitled ST JOHN BOSCO by JOE ZAMMIT. In this series I’m narrating events and miracles from the splendid life of Don Bosco. St John Bosco used to perform a miracle almost every day, through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians. From the lives of saints we can learn how to love God more and draw closer to him. 18:23 Father in heaven, we give you praise and glory. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Thank you for bringing us today, 236. What a gift that you are. What a gift each day, gosh, Lord, this entire time, every one of these days, none of them are days we deserve. Every one of them is a day that you have given to us as free gift, and all you ask is that we simply receive it. All you ask is that we receive it with gratitude and thanksgiving, knowing that none of these days is anything that any of us have ever deserved. And so, you simply ask us to receive it. And then, on top of receiving it, to use it just for your glory, to say yes to you, to say yes to your gift, and to receive this gift, that you may be glorified and to use this gift that your children might be helped, loved, and cared for. And so, please Lord God, help us to receive this day as your gift, days of difficulty and days of blessing, but also help us to use this day. Help us to use this difficulty that comes with today, so that those around us who are carrying heavy burdens might carry a little bit lighter burdens because of us. Help us to glorify you. Help us to lift up our brothers and sisters. Help us to let you love us, and help us to love you in return. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. †

We all have a calling like Jeremiah and that is to spend our days doing good to glorify God whether we are in bad or good situations. Thank you Fr. Mike for sharing your knowledge of the Sacred Scripture. I never knew Jeremiah did not have a wife. I am having a Bible study with a group virtually being led by a very knowledgeable Deacon. One of the important things he taught is to never compromise our faith and it is only God that we should trust. If your parish has a Bible study group consider joining but make sure the one who leads it is qualified and is faithful to the teaching of the Church. Have a blessed God night or day wherever you are. To God be the glory at all times.

Jeremiah 16 19 - Lord , you are the one who protects me and gives me strength ; you help me in times of trouble. Jeremiah 17 5 - The Lod says, " I will condemn those who turn away from me and put their trust in human beings, in the strength of mortals. " 7 - " But I will bless the person who puts his trust in me." 12 - Our Temple is like a glorious throne, standing on a high mountain from the beginning. 14 - Lord, heal me and I will be completely well; rescue me and I will be perfectly safe. You are the one I praise! 16 - But Lord, I never urged you to bring disaster on them; I did not wish a time of trouble for them. Lord, you know this; you know what I have said. 17 - Do not be a terror to me; you are my place of safety when trouble comes. 24 - "Tell these people that they must obey all my commands. They must not carry any load in through the gates of this city on the Sabbath, or carry anything out of their houses on the Sabbath. They must observe the Sabbath as a sacred day and must not do any work at all. 25 - Then their kings and princes will enter the gates of Jerusalem and have the same royal power that David had. 26 - .... As I listen to all of these VERY specific offerings that God requires of His people it makes me feel this is proof that He expects tithing more than we realize. I used to tell people who asked me about tithing, if u can afford to go to the movies or out to dinner or take a vacation you should be tithing but if you are not able to ever do any of those things because you have only what u need to support your required bills then you should just give what you can but God does not seem to think that way. He wants what is due without lenience. Pony up or else.
