Lord Jesus, I humbly pray for myself, Father Mike, & all the people participating in the Bible-in-Year podcast. I do not know all their needs, but you do, Lord. I offer them to you with confidence that you hear our prayers. May your word take deep root in our hearts & transform our ways of thinking, discerning, and acting. May your grace open our ears to hear & understand and revere & treasure both the Old & the New Testaments which God has prepared for all who desire to enter his kingdom. Please send us your Holy Spirit to give us the Spirit of Knowledge, that we may know God and know ourselves. Give us the grace to approach the Word of God with meekness & humility, & with an eagerness to do everything God desires. Please give me the grace to set aside my intellect and my know-it-all attitude and let your Word speak to my heart and my soul. Help us to be diligent students & faithful disciples of your Word. May our hearts never grow dull & may our ears never tire of listening to your voice. Thank you and praise you for the gift of perseverance and for nourishing us with your word! Amen.

This is an incredible explanation of the different waves of kingdoms and empires. It is so exciting to hear about the Kindgom of God as the stone - the stone of Peter upon which he was the Rock, The stone of the tomb that was rolled away, the stone upon whch all other metals are chipped and sharpened. The stone upon which water is needed to sharpen those metal tools that water can cut over time or thru pressure and the blood upon which stains the stone to leave an indelible mark. Such a wonderful explanation and thought provoking picture of which the Church is built and has become. Thank you Fr Mike!

What an amazing thing that God would give a dream detailing His plan throughout history to establish His Kingdom on Earth to an evil, idol-worshiping King Nebuchadnezzar, to be described and interpreted by Daniel, and further expounded by our Father Mike thousands of years later. This, along with the fact that this evil king was compelled to his knees in acknowledgement of the True God of Heaven is nothing short of AMAZING. Praise God!

The book of Daniel always transports me back to Sunday school, did any one else sing Dare to be a Daniel? Dare to be a Daniel Dare to stand alone Dare to have a purpose firm Dare to make it known It is amazing how teachings taught as a child stick with you, any how I am now going to eat a plate full of carrots, as veggies are good for us it seems (well have you ever seen a rabbit in specs) thought not, I rest my case! I like the fact that God talks to people through dreams, they can reflect what is going on in your life, I don't dream much, but I am in the habit of writing them down when I do, it makes for comical reading when you go back and look at some of them. The last dream I had I was trying to go to work on a child' s tricycle, and what's more I had was giving a nurse a ride on the back ! needless to say I didn't make it very far, I don't think the good Lord was speaking to me through that one🤔😅

It’s such a wonderful foreshadowing of the coming of The Christ. So grateful that God talked to Ascension to develop this Study. (Was it in a Dream?) One thing not mentioned is the similarities between Daniel and Joseph. Innocent men sent into exile because of the sins of Israel, they rise to the right hand of the king in a foreign land because God revealed to them a dream and its meaning when the sorcerers and diviners were unable to tell the king his dream, proving their occult powers impotent. They preceded the rest of their family into exile in order to preserve both Israel and the land of their exile, hoping for the day that all of Israel would return to the Promised Land while knowing they would not live to see it. Daniel did live to see the proclamation for the sons of Judah to return to the Promised Land, but he died in Babylon and was buried there. His tomb remains to this day, though it was defiled by the Islamic State a few years ago.

Good morning, Fr. Mike. Ezekiel's experience about not being able to hold the Word of God when he attempts not to speak of God's messages brought to me a thought about your enthusiasm. Your talks are truly inspired by the fire of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for your love and dedication to the Word of God and most especially, answering the call of God. I could not half understand some of the readings if you had not explained it and given all the angles about the talks. You are helping us to know and love and God and how to pray after the day's reading. Thank you. I have read Daniel before but not as closely as now. I wonder if the "how to live in the land of exile" will also apply to us in our day and time. Tomorrow - Day 239 ...

I had a weird dream this morning before waking. There were deer feeding on a plush hillside. I chased up the hill after the herd which the look-out deer saw me and the herd headed up the hill. I ran as if I were running down-hill without growing weary. I found myself alone when a great buck appeared on a cement terrace built into the hill. He stared at me and I looked away to see where the herd had run. When my gaze returned on the buck it was no longer a buck but a large tiger whose orange stood out against its stripes and he was heavy with a muscular build magnificent to behold yet gripped me with a great up-welling of terror. There was a wooden post to my left with a great octagonal platform to its side suspended mid-air. I climbed the post but half way up a weariness caught me and I couldn't climb any higher nor throw my weight upon the platform. I turned to look for the tiger 🐅 but only an empty terrace remained but my fear still had a grip on me for my mind perceived the tiger was merely looking in ambush at me and here the dream ended. What does it all mean? Today I think I know the players of my dream. There herd is the saints The look-out deer is Mary. The buck is me as a great saint or any one who longs to be a great saint. The tiger is Jesus. The post is Purgatory. The platform is Heaven. To be weary is sin.

The reason Rome is depicted as being of iron and clay I believe is because not only did the Kingdom get split in half but also the reason the Western Roman Empire fell was that it could not assimilate the German invaders who they initially employed as mercenaries but who later turned on them and conquered them. A good reason the Germanic invaders wouldn’t assimilate is that they followed the Arian heresy branch of the church and while that branch ultimately died out and became replaced by the true Christian faith they still had a lasting impact before they died by destroying the Western Roman Empire.
