Actually Shane plays with the Cynergy 15k shaft which is a low deflection shaft from Cuetec
@justinthomas28995 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I was thinking lol like what was he talking about
@joeygonzo5 жыл бұрын
low cue ball deflection but the shaft is high deflection at the tip. Try masseing or jumping with it . It will deflect off the cue ball before the ball jumps.
@justinthomas28995 жыл бұрын
Jack Ridge I have the same shaft and I Masse a ball super easily with it🤔 never tried to jump with it cause I have another cue for that.
@ethanletzer35075 жыл бұрын
@@joeygonzo my man thats not how cues work. Low-high deflection is based on a level cue stroke. The carbon fiber shaft Shane has is hollow at the front end with a foam core to compensate for the rigidity and mass overall. Now it is certainly higher deflection than the Predator Revo for example but when you elevate the cue it doesn't matter what cue you use, the ball will throw unless struck directly center. When it comes to jump and masse shots, they're actually easier to do with higher deflection shafts because that's just how throw works. However you absolutely can masse and jump with them. For example Cuetec's new jump cue is the same shaft as the playing cue but thicker and with more carbon filaments and has a phenolic pad under a plastic tip.
@joeygonzo5 жыл бұрын
@@ethanletzer3507 Well, if that cuetec jumped great, they wouldn't make a jump version that is way stiffer . 314 are lousy jumpers. So is the Revo.

He makes it sound like he knows every inch of science on a pool table. If that was true, he would be competing not commentating. When was the last time you saw Shane or Efren commentate matches for a major tournament? Never! because they are always competing and winning because they actually do understand the science of a pool table
@MrMervynLim5 жыл бұрын
@@tmay092698 haha. Not an important topic to argue about. But my opinion is a great coach is different from a great player. This rule applies in any sport. If your theory holds true then tiger woods or federer wouldnt need a coach. Even SVB has people to guide him. He understands every angle and positional play. That doesnt mean he can execute them as perfectly as the top players.

I enjoyed the detailed commentary...but Why not just say on break if it’s the same as “on serve”....seems silly
@physicsguybrian4 жыл бұрын
It is worse than silly! It is innacurate entirely. One serves in tennis because the ball is hit TO the other player to start the point. That NEVER happens in pool. The balls are broken out from rack position, roll about and come to rest before any other ball can be hit. Furthermore, the other player still cannot play if a ball is made on the break. Very different from serving. Nothing worse than dumb commentary except for when it is also totally wrong! Its as if they are trying to add credibility to the game commentary by using terminology from a more popular sport. Just dumb. I'd rather watch these matches with just the pool hall ambient background sounds. Then I'd feel like I was there watching rather than here listening to babbling commentators interfering with my watchmg experience!

bob733333 He also said SVB plays with a high deflection shaft. 🙄
@joeygonzo5 жыл бұрын
@@bird80 Technically low deflection shafts are built to have HIGH DEFLECTION. The high deflection from the tip of the shaft causes the cue ball to have low deflection/squirt. If a shaft had low deflection on the front end, the cue ball would have high deflection.
@tlinjr5 жыл бұрын
Jack Ridge dude, it’s a low deflection shaft, low deflection when referring to shafts refer to how the cue ball deflection. What you and the commentator are talking about is shaft flex. Which the carbon shafts don’t have a high level of flex, the low deflection characteristic is from a low end mass.
@joeygonzo5 жыл бұрын
@@tlinjr Well, go aheade. Watch a low deflection shaft deflect a cue ball compared to a regular shaft. The low deflection shaft will deflect MORE off the cue ball than the regular shaft. It's physics. It's one or the other . I make my own shafts . I've drilled the front end and used carbon tube. Or just plane countersunk hole and paper micarta ferrule . The lighter that front end is , the higher deflection it will have . Which results to lower cue ball squirt . That announcer fully knew Shane has a carbon fiber tube shaft . And on jacked-up shots , those shafts deflect a ton off the cue ball. That's why they are not good jumpers .
@tlinjr5 жыл бұрын
Jack Ridge you’re confused on what deflection and shaft flex is. Squirt is a type of deflection, look up dr. Dave billiards explanation on this. Shaft flex is when the shaft actually bends. Some shafts are whippy and have a lot of flex and others are stiff. A stiff shaft isn’t synonymous with high cue ball deflection, the physics has to do the front end MASS not shaft flex.
