Gary Vazquez - - Yeah, a month ago, I got my 2016 Challenger (albeit, an SXT), for 20,000 here in Denver. I could have easily gotten into the V-8 for around 25-K, but with my solid-lead foot I chose the 6-cylinder in an attempt to preserve my clean license. I say this because this 6 is affordable & a helluva LOT of fun. Soon as I'm no longer paid to drive, I'll step up to the 8 & maybe even get it out to Bandemier Raceway for some big boy (& girl) fun. Payments are $380 & I pay an even $400 on a school bus driver's salary. GO FOR IT, it'll put a shit-eatin' grin on your face! 👿😜😂

I will stay a subscriber, and share your vid's as much as I can. But, you asked for a comment about what I liked? I liked the review that you gave of it's shift set up. I tend to agree, 100%, but this is the first video that I've seen yet, that has described it as real as you did. I will pass the feedback along to FCA, and with enough support, maybe, possibly, they'll put in it what it deserves, a shorter-throw, gated shifter. More than any other feature, it's 100% what this car needs. Keep up the good work, brother! I'll keep watching. 👍

I will never sell it, it was once my everyday driver (almost 118k miles), It has become my baby, my toy, my love! Mods have begun. Took off the stock 18's. Wide 20's sure made it look a lot meaner. They still don't stick, ugh. Especially frustrating when trying to beat my 0-60 time. The Borla Atak and K/N nighthawk cold air intake make it sound like a bunch of pissed off clydesdales roaring down the road. I can feel the additional power too. Next up supercharger - true sleeper!!

This car isn't that big. Its shorter than the Charger. Plus the problem is that most new cars today are tiny. This Challenger is alot smaller than yesteryears. The Shakers look the best imo. 2015 and up are great. Better brakes and suspension too. I also find like most cars today, that the automatics are quicker with the option of using the paddle shifters. The 6.4L 392 is badass. I would keep your resonators on and just shorten your mufflers or do a delete. Make sure if you do a delete, you match the metal so it dont rust/corode over time. Also if you cant afford new wheels to fit 315s then just put the 275s on. World of difference.

@Lethe6264 жыл бұрын
How was anything he said helpful? He complained on the tire size, which is stock. Doubt he actually races. He’s an idiot when he complained about the R/T badge and not knowing his car. He complained about the Volume of the exhaust, but flips back and forth on it sounding good stock. He probably drives like an asshole when he hits the turns to cause the lean. And he complained about the weight and the shifter. He clearly knew nothing of Dodge or the Challenger when he bought/leased it, I’m going to say lease because he probably would done a resonator/mid-exhaust delete (about $100 per), he knows about strut bars...yet hasn’t had them installed. So how can an uninformed and petty opinions be helpful to you getting the car?

With my challenger, I hate the navigation system, as it prioritizes the shortest route rather than the fastest and I have yet to figure out how to reconfigure it. 1. Nah, the 245s are amazing fun. Majority of my cars life has had 305 drag radials. After switching back to stock wheels and tires, I've been having a blast. 2. The R/T badge gives it a "sleeper" look compared to everyone drooling over the SRT models. There's been plenty of times other drivers stock it was a "basic" R/T 3. The active exhaust can be turned off with sport mode and being in paddle mode. Keeps the cars RPM's high, and in lower gears. 4. Body roll is almost irrelevant. It's a given on large vehicles, however sticky sport tires almost eliminate the problem. They're extremely capable track vehicles. 5. Big car, big weight. Gutting the interior to save 100lbs isn't worth it. Like you said, ADD SOME POWER! Great video, keep it up.

dont know about this guy-i really enjoy my 2009 SRT 8 challenger i recently purchased with just 10500 miles at the end of feb 2019. so comfortable. 6.1 and automatic. the original owner put a mopar CAI and magnaflow exhaust with muffler delete, strut tower brace, oil air separator, hurst shifter-it feels like he had some performance transmission work to it. it is hemi orange with black stripes. looks and smells new. maybe he should get an automatic. this challanger is easy to drive, way comfortable to ride in, handles super. i traded in my 1995 corvette on it which hugs the road like on a train track. this lx body does quite well. now i am all mopar again-2010 jgc, 2011 ram express and 09 srt-all hemis.

Ive had a 2014 srt8 challenger for 6 months and id like to add to what u mentioned. I added 315s in rear(Nitto Nt555), Barton Shifter, full straight piped exhaust along w/ catless mid pipes, and a fully gutted interior...and some aero. Yes i have ALOT of drone, sounds like a nascar but i dont mind since its not a daily. It sounds good! First of all once you lose all the weight ive found myself spinning at WOT right above 40 mph when shifting into 3rd at about 5500 rpm. Not a bad thing since the barton makes all the shifts stronger lol. So i think the best option for tires is probably street radials if u have a setup like mine. 2nd since u have a 2015+ youll have to pay to have ur pcm unlocked if u wanna get it tuned. 2011-2014 not required. 3rd, to decrease body roll the front strut bar is almost useless. Its more so for style. The rear strut is the weapon of choice but cost alot more. Lastly, power adders. The 392 hemi internals are trash. You can only handle a max of 6lbs of boost with a safe tune. So no you cant just bolt on a supercharger and be as fast as a hellcat, youll blow your motor. I plan on running 6lbs of boost then eventually buy drop in pistons and rods and turn it up to 8 max. Supporting mods will have me where i wanna be: cam, headers etc. Last thing!!! Get an oil catch can. During my first oil change on the car i was surprised at how much oil it caught.

I've got a 2014 Dodge Charger SE(8 speed automatic) with no mods in which a base r/t barely beats my vehicle. Not even a car's length. It's still got the R/T badge because it's a halfway point model between the R/T and the SRT 392. You get the SRT engine but not all the other options as the SRT model.

On my exhaust I completely removed my resonators and replaced my stock mufflers with dyno max mini bullets. I have a video of it. Although it just loud but I get little to no drone. My car is just 5.7 and 6 speed so that may effect some of it. I'm late to this channel. But earned a sub.

BLACKOREAN, The Challenger you own is an R/T. The Scat Pack emblem is secondary to the specific package you have. Historically speaking, you need to research Scat Pack's beginnings in 1968.

Going with a staggered wheel set up will help your traction, ie a 9 or 10" rear wheel with the appropriate tire. Stop comparing your car to a Mustang or Camaro. Your car is built on a E Class Mercedes platform. Although it's not marketed in such a way, its competition and like size is the BMW 6 series coupe and E Class coup, Lexus GS and Infinity Q.

First off tire sidewall and compound make much more of a difference on acceleration than does width and second off sway bars aka roll bars will stop the car rolling in turns, strut tower bars will help a little bit they are intended to increase structural rigidity and prevent chassis flex which will do more to increase corner grip.

Factory wheels depending on what trim you have can’t go wider than 255/45/20. The rims aren’t wide enough and you’ll have a sidewall that’ll collapse. Some packages have a wider rim in the back. Usually the ones with a factory staggered fitment. 245/45/20 in the front and 275/40/20 in the back usually. Since the rims in the back are 9 or 9.5 inches wide in the back. 20x8.5 in the front and 20x9.5 in the back. Of course I’d have to go to work tomorrow and actually research the factory wheel sizes. And of course everything depends on what you got with your car as far as trim options and special orders. If you want 275’s on your whip you need at minimum a 9.5” wide wheel.

I had a V6 Challenger. Not because of money reasons or anything. It was being chosen as a daily vehicle. It was surprisingly great on gas. I test drove the SRT and aside from sound and slightly more stability, I felt I could keep up with a V6, and up until a week ago I did and sometimes even blew past my victims who had stronger faster cars. That all ended when someone rear ended it while it was parked and destroyed it in a hit and run. I came back to my car in pieces. It was a write off. It broke my fucking heart. Now it's on the mend as new Challenger season is almost upon us and at this point there are so many choices. The possibilities at the moment for a replacement are endless. And that excites me. I loved that fucking car.

I also investigated into this because of my car. The car is actually an RT trim level but powered by SRT. And also the suspension changes between the SRT 392 and the RT scat pack. And if we really think about it, the SRT is much more expensive than the scar pack

I got an SXT because I’m a basic b****. hahaha! I like my chally. I don’t love it. It’s like driving a boat every turn is wide af. Sometimes I question my spacing because of how close it looks like I am to the curb. It’s too quiet, I need an oil change every 2 months. Tires are too small for sure. What I do love about my chally is the look. I love an aggressive looking car lol! Plenty of space in the back seat. Trunk space is amazing. Love the cosmetic shit, hate the maintenance but I knew what I signed up for 🤷🏽♀️

We have similar lists of why we don't like our challengers BUT I got something to say about the tires.. Dodge are not gonna waste their money putting 275 tires and above knowing people are gonna be doing burn outs wit this tires.. They give us some good rims tho.. So if someone wants to upgrade their tires.. They'll do it at their own expense.. Thats just a good business decision and it makes sense to me.

All scat packs are RT. Just like all hellcats are SRT.
@theBLACKOREAN7 жыл бұрын
I'm aware, I never said the car wasn't an RT Scat Pack. I just believe the RT badge is a bit misleading in that the immediate assumption is that it is a 5.7L
@bezaldo77 жыл бұрын
yeah but that's why you pay so much extra to get the SRT rights. A scat is still RT. It still carries way more heritage than the SRT so be proud of the RT! It's great.
@bmw1997ish7 жыл бұрын
bezaldo7 I totally agree with you! RT carries way more heritage. It's not like it says SXT scat pack lol
@theBLACKOREAN7 жыл бұрын
99transamws6 I prefer the heritage associated with the Scat Pack over just the RT. I'm a rebel at heart LOL
@beastmode34657 жыл бұрын
bezaldo7 I agree with theBLACKOREAN in that the SP should have a different badge from the RT. The Charger gets a Scat Pack badge in the grill and even get the SRT hood. I don't see why Dodge can't just badge the challenger the same way. I realize it is an upgraded RT, but the SP is much closer to being a SRT than an RT. So I'm definitely a fan of badging the SP as a SP. Already got my Scat Pack badges for mine, just need to get rid of the RT badge in the grill. Nothing wrong with badging the car what it truly is and Dodge has a Scat Pack badge that should be on the challenger. As mentioned already you pay the money for an SRT and therefore are paying for the right to badge it as such, well SP owners pay the money for a Scat Pack and should have the right to badge the car to show it's a Scat Pack

Yeah I had that issue with my 2012 SRT, plus the Goodyears SUCK in general, but changing up the rubber as well to either Michelin or Pirelli. that being said I like the sleeper type of look, Mine was all white because I just wanted to not be noticed as much lol. Barton is good and get a skip shift delete cable. I wish I didn't have to sell mine on, so hopefully at the end of the year start of next I'll get myself a 2015-2018 SRT 392, since 2019+ that trim level is gone, only the hellcat. (because i want that Sepia leather!) Nice vid man!
