@@SpunkyMike wow, you're a lucky guy! Discovered her only five months ago, but was immediately quite obsessed and was thinking about going to watch her live asap. I'm Bavarian, so the closest venues would have been either Montreux or Sziget/Budapest, but I couldn't make it, seemed too far, too complicated to get there, too expensive with hotel etc...but having watched her set at Montreux has me think damn, I should've done it regardless... I'll definitely go on the next occasion next year... - I'm new to the channel but loved the dude immediately, even knew without having had a look at his thumbnails that he was talking about Ren at some point and gave him a sub without hesitating, will watch some of his older reactions, but I'm mostly looking forward to more RAYE, she's got a hold on me... When you get Raye you get her. Her best vocal performance for me is Oscar winning tears live at the Royal Albert Hall mind blowing. Her singing a medley of her songs at the Brit awards or doing James Browns It's a man's man's world at Montreux Jazz festival she's incredible. You could watch Raye a hundred times over and she will never perform it the same way twice a true artist.

@marktodd7397, I don’t know man. Escapism and Worthi it for me. Fuck they all great. But I have to be honest there’s two songs on album is great but not for me. The rest is so awesome! I know all her songs but you really have to understand Escapism before watching her video. I can so relate. It starts all great then alcohol and drugs kick in, and music changes and at the end of the night it changes again. Fuck she is SOOOO talented! Then she does a different equally versions of song on SNL. I was at that concert at Royal Albert Hall here in London and it was sooo amazing! She took off her clothes when she sang Ice Cream man and sang it in her underwear. So so powerful!!! But I agree Oscar Winning Tears great too. But how Deep and honest and vulnerable is Ice Cream Man!!!! I loved her even more for sharing her life. I really hope and pray she will thrive and has the right people around her and not end like almost all our greats did 🙏🏽

I heard this song and was introduced to Raye about a month ago, and swear to dog, you were the first person I thought of, I was waiting on some back pay I had comin to me, so didn't have the funds to do my normal dono. I was gonna give ya shout on IG about how dope the song was, but you made it painfully obvious how busy you were and how little time you had to "check out a song", so I didn't wanna bother ya. Hey buddy, instant sub here from BavaRAYEa, love you, love your channel, I even knew immediately that "the 'you know who' guy" you mentioned had to be Ren, and never before had I come across your channel... Congrats on your intuition to pick this one from the comments, shout out to whoever it was to write such an inviting recommendation! I discovered RAYE 5-6 months ago and man I can tell you, you're on for a ride. Your picture of Amy and Demi having a baby is spot on, but she might also be the baby of Nina Simone and Ren... or of Ella Fitzgerald and Kendrick Lamar... or all of them together plus Etta James Brown on top... must have been quite an orgy of musical geniuses up there when they decided to make her... God wanted to create someone who would be enjoyable for him to watch performing, so he put all of his effort into her... She said she's been working on this song for about two and a half years, doing countless retakes and rearrangements and lyrical changes. It was released as an EP with the whole song and parts i, ii, iii separately. Part iii as you may have noticed was recorded live, while i & ii are studio productions with vocal layering, she did dozens of layers for part ii. There's another video on her channel of the live recording session of part iii, you may enjoy that on your own as you've already heard it, you deserve a treat for this great reaction and that way you may enjoy some more RAYE without spoiling your next reaction to her which I bet won't take long, and I'm happy about that, can't have enough RAYE in my life! She is so special, a real musical and lyrical treasure. Been writing hundreds of song for dozens of artist, from John Legend to Beyoncé, but she kept the best ones for herself... :) Her debut album "My 21st Century Blues" (2023) is phenomenal, imho the most exciting debut in a decade, for me she really is the best thing to come from the UK ever since Amy. I might even rate her higher than Amy in a few years, she has that it factor, a very unique way about her, and is a lyrical genius and great performing artist just as Amy was, but vocally she's playing in a totally different league, that's more Beyoncé, Xtina or Adele level... She's totally insane live, go watch Oscar Winning Tears live at the Royal Albert Hall, or her Medley at the Brit Awards, or her cover of James Brown "It's A Man's World" live at North Sea Jazz, Rotterdam, NL 2024, or the same song at Montreux Jazz Festival 2024... she blows my mind again and again... Now what's important to know: In early 2024, before her debut won her a record of six Brit Awards later this year, she recorded her entire album again, but this time live, with a full orchestra and 30 head choir... That live album (My 21st Century Symphony) is even more outrageous than the studio version. Her rendition of Oscar Winning Tears live at RAH is the video from the actual recording session for that album, she just hired a slot at the venue, The Heritage Orchestra, that youth choir and invited some thousand fans to join in and support her, and went for it, as an independent artist. And boy did she deliver, that ish is hot... Right now she truly is my fav artist, I love Ren, his brilliant pen game, his deep musicality and love for detail, as well as his great character as a human being, but RAYE has all of that and on top of it is a really soaring vocal artist, her control, support and colors are close to no one else, she's a very rare songbird, deeply rooted in jazz, but can and loves to do everything at one time, but never too much... Yup, she's a genius, period. Peace and love!
