Hey Sam, great video. Great updates. I received a pair of the Ray-Ban‘s for Christmas and I’m enjoying a heck out of learning how to use them. I did see a video from a creator where she signed up for the beta testing and was doing a video as a beta tester. The video was OK as far as it did some of what she was looking for to do unfortunately, it didn’t do everything she was needing for, and I think that’s part of why it’s still in beta to give you an idea what the problems were. She was walking along. She was asking to find the greenhouse and it never found the greenhouse found several other colors of house, but it didn’t find that and then she asked about specific house members and she was having a hard time getting it to find house numbers. New technology obviously takes time and I think they’ll keep fine-tuning this some of the features we hear about are available, but you have to be in the beta program, which is fairly easy to sign up for to get access to them.

Thanks for all the videos, my brother has been visually impaired for about 30 years now, he was stubborn for so long but last year he finally dropped the flip phone after he realized they were near impossible to buy! I also told him I couldn’t find them anywhere :-) , but in return I promised I would teach him iOS and how to use iPhones and AppleTV, so far so good and I’ll be watching all your video for ideas when I’m training him.

hey Sam, I’m in the early access program. I have the live AI. It’s not exactly video although they call it video. Whenever you ask you a question it still takes a picture. You cannot ask it to look for something and then when it sees it, it lets you know. At least not yet. That’s the same way that Google Gemini and ChatGPT work as well. None of them are video at this point. Hopefully it’s coming soon.

I wish the glasses had a way to adjust the tint of the glasses depending on the lighting. You could have them dark when outside and clear when inside.

Thanks for another great and informative video, Sam. This product is really great. I only wish I could get them. I have a little bit of sight remaining which requires a very strong eyeglass prescription (I'm aphakic - no lens in my eye). These glasses don't accommodate prescriptions with absolute values greater than 6. Darn.

I joined the early access feature for the glasses, and have tried a little bit of the live AI stuff. Response wise it's pretty good, but I do find that Meta AI doesn't seem near as accurate as something like Be My Eyes or ally. It seems to get things wrong more often and confidently reporting incorrect information. Hopefully this will improve when they switch to their newer llama AI, but that's my main complaint right now.

Thanks, Sam for the updates! I will be curious to see how the video aspect works when it all comes out! I could really see this being an added benefit for me here on the farm. Especially, when it comes to recognizing my cattle tags. Right now, just walking along and using the Be My Eyes, it has to take a picture to process. Which, I am sure the Meta glasses are the same. But, for the video, to get real time information would be awesome if it works like I would hope. Maybe I can get my hands on a pair that someone has to try them out before spending the money! Hi Sam, this is a great video. I really love all of the new features that are with the glasses and that will be coming to the glasses in the future. I really love the celebrity voices they added, but I don’t know any of them besides John Cena they should make you a celebrity voice L O L. Also, as someone who has access to the live AI video feature and the live translation feature. These are amazing and very helpful however, as of right now thoroughly buggy. Both features are very sensitive when it comes to picking up other voices that are in the room and a couple issues with the live AI video feature is that you still have to play 20 questions with the AI and the AI loves to hallucinate a lot and honestly, I feel like The hallucinations are worse when it comes to using this feature compared to waking up the glasses and asking it to describe something to you at the end of the day these features are only gonna get better and better overtime so really looking forward to these features getting better. Once these features are available to the public. I will be doing a video on these features. Also, is there any way you could do a video regarding the Be My Eyes on the Meadow glasses? I do have a couple of videos on my channel about it.

Once you have the video feature, can you please test a specific need for us? I want the device to be able to detect real-time changes in situations. For example, "Meta, tell me when the crosswalk changes from red to white" or "Meta, tell me when the door is opened."

Pro tip: I always see/hear people say “hey meta” and wait for the sound and then they start talking (people do it with Siri too). You don’t have to pause and wait for the tone. Just say everything at once, it’ll still hear it and follow the command 👍

At a Christmas Party of my family is Venezuelan and at our Christmas party they were speaking Spanish and I can tell exactly what they were saying. I eventually told them what my glasses did and they loved them and two of the ladies bought a pair for translating the English to Spanish.

I’ve got my one. I’m in the UK but my one does not announce what I’m looking at like you’re describing. Do you think this feature will come into the UK very soon? I do have an orcas that does similar but if this can be in the glasses this will be good or do you think this will come to the UK at some point? When I say hey Matt, what we looking at it won’t let me look it just as I am a voice just assistant. Someone guessing the feature is not there available in the UK at the moment. Not true, I have a ton of totally blind friends that absolutely love the glasses. The main benefit for us is the meta AI. Thing about it is that it's audio only, so no need for sight. That's why it works great for totally blind

Appreciate your content, really. But it's really unfortunate that your videos about the meta rayban glasses don't mention the fact that meta AI is only available for the US Canada and Australia. I bought a pair for my mom in Austria and I discovered as I unboxed it that there is no possibility to use meta AI in combination with the look functionality. So literally useless for a visually impaired person. Now I have to deal with very badly conceived return service of rayban.

The biggest problem with Meta is Mark Zuckerberg. He has a long history of privacy violations, and he is an anti-privacy activist. In fact, to get an insight on how bad his views are on privacy, he's quoted as saying something to the effect of "If people are stupid enough to give me their personal information, then they deserve what I do with it."
