Another great viewing of one of my favourite cities. Over 20 years ago I was an usher at The Royal Lyceum Theatre. Fantastic time watching all the productions and socialising in the bar after work...not every night of course. 😎🐨

Cracking video, Tony. 'Tis nice to know there are so many venues around Edinburgh to keep the arts alive. I have never heard of watching a film with a live orchestra before, that sounds like a novel idea. Slàinte

You were quite close buy to the old Theatre Royal where all the greats in Scottish entertainers performed.👍

I also recommend watching a favorite film in clips with an orchestra, really great if you’re a big fan of a particular movie. A nice option for live music.

didnt get a chance to hit any of the theatres when we were there but i thought id give a quick overview of the places we went and the stuff we did for those who are heading edinburgh way. We stayed at the Holiday inn express royal mile. Located one block off the royal mile on the Cowgate. Very small rooms but clean and great service overall. Good breakfast. Places we ate.....Burgers and beers (royal mile) Try the deep fried haggis bites. Good service. Very friendly and resonable prices. Tollbooth Tavern (royal mile) Great haggis and great fish n chips. Cool atmosphere. Stramash (cowgate) Live music and beer was awesome ...don't eat here.....Clam Shell (royal mile) deep fried mars bar. It's even sweeter than they say. lol Worlds end pub (royal mile) Great atmosphere, very good food and great service. Try the steak and ale pie. Stuff we did: cant recommend enough the 1 day tour we took to lochness and the highlands through Highlands Expierience in Cafe Nero right across from Saint Giles. It makes for a long day (12 hours) but chuck full of history and photo oppurtunites . Try and get on "Garry the Legend"'s bus. Great guide. Tell him Jim from Wisconsin recommends him. :) Real mary kings close was interesting and if you enjoy history was well worth the price. lots of stairs though so if you are movement restrictive its something to consider. If gothic architechture is your thing you have to go to st giles. Absolutley gorgeous. They charge you 2 pounds to take pictures though. Anyways, hope this helps somebody. Lastly, ive said it before but be prepared for the steepness of the hills. You wont believe it till you see it yourself. And dont try to drive. Ride the bus.

Heya. Good video, thanks! Hey, with all this history and many ghost stories in Edinburgh, have you had any paranormal experiences yourself? (It would be a great topic for views! ;) You're welcome.)

Good idea, i don't really have any experiences unfortunately.

Off the subject of this video... Can you PLEASE do a driving video? Pick up our car in sitehill (?) And driving out of Edinburgh. My husband is starting to stress about traffic circles and general road manners.. 😳😳
@jimgamble43555 жыл бұрын
i'd highly recommend you not try to drive in and around Edinburgh unless you are intimitly familiar with the rules of the road in the UK. It is very congested and there is limited parking especially along the royal mile. The locals also drive VERY aggressively so there isnt much room for error.
@richandsallybrown58965 жыл бұрын
Jim Gamble I hear you! We are getting our rental on our way out of Edinburgh, no way will we drive when we are there! I’m looking forward to the experience personally!
