I had to leave you a comment/compliment here, the workmanship is obvious. Your drilling through the structure is very clean and precise. Nice work!

A wheel does make nice cuts and straight in those tight spots that needs to be perfect. There is also no burrs or mess lol. I do use a sawzall too though.
@TheBuildingExpert2 жыл бұрын
I agree, however hackzall is my go to when doing plumbing rough in!
@charlesbucholz8079 Жыл бұрын
I don't use pipe cutters on PVC because it leaves a raised edge around the edge of pipe that has to be grazed off. Hacksaw or sawzall with hacksaw blade is best tool for the job.

Hi Folks, My eyes do not see so well, but vent pipes still get graded, and yes, they still get reamed before you chemically weld the joints. I could not tell if that got done. And do not forget the fire stopping. (On another video?) Respectfully, R.
@Gerard1to6 ай бұрын
Fire stopping is only when crossing between two or more different dwellings or units.. in the same room there is no need. Also, reaming doesn't matter for a vent.

Very nice and awesome work! BTW what size drill bit do you use for the 2" vent pipe?
@TheBuildingExpert3 жыл бұрын
We use Lenox 2-9/16’’ Self feed bit. Thanks for your feedback.

Can you use wet vent? Save a lot of pipes.
@TheBuildingExpert2 жыл бұрын
Yes for sure. In this video one of the sink drain is wet venting toilet & one is wet venting shower drain. Thanks

Code not allow San tee on horizontal run. Use wye +45 degree turn on vent horizontal run instead

I believe a T is okay for vent.

never seen anyone pip from the bottom up lol. I was so confused on how the pipes were just sitting in the holes without falling down. Not even thinking about the possibility of someone piping from the bottom up haha. Wonder how well it works though.

I couldn't even imagine piping from top down.

Question? Does the 2” dry vent pipe go all the way out the roof or can it be reduced to 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 per UPC? Trying to add a bathroom to my house but plumbing was the only trade I never learned 😅. Thanks
@TheBuildingExpert2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jose Vent pipe shall extend undiminished in size above the roof. I Hope this helps.

In Omaha, NE it must size up from 2" ...to 4" ...12" below roofline and 12" above roofline.
@steventhury8366 Жыл бұрын
Must be at least 3" thru the roof.

So many holes , you could easily connect them on top of all the 2x4
@TheBuildingExpert2 жыл бұрын
We could but… A. If you look carefully @6:00 - 6:07 you can see a truss running parallel on top of the 2*4 wall. There is not enough space for a hole. B. Even if we had enough space we still had to make 4 holes in the double plates to run each vent into the attic space which in my opinion is the same thing. C. The wall is not load bearing so rather than running each vent pipe to the trusses, making holes in the studs saved us a lot of material. D. It’s less time consuming working in the studs than attic. Thanks for your feedback.
@leach713 Жыл бұрын
Nice clean but I wouldn’t have drill through all those studs I would have revent two of them and then take them straight up and tie all of them to get in the crawl space or attic space , would have save you them time and fittings

A 2 inch pipe perfectly level has 2 inches of slope. A 4 inch pipe perfectly level has 4 inches of slope.
