Spider-Man 4 Can NO Longer Be a Street Level Story!

I am so desperate for a street level Spidey film, that this news actually saddens me. But we gotta make do with what we’ve got. So here’s my takeaway on the recent Spider-Man 4 development.

But the potential of us getting another Spidey team-up PLUS the SYMBIOTES (Absolute Cinema man) and we'll finally get to see him donning the Black Suit. If this turns out like you say. I could see Marvel addressing the change. Maybe having Peter wish things calmed down in his life, like wishing things were more grounded. But things turn for the worse causing him to be part of a multiverse level threat and get the Symbiote suit and feeding on his emotions. When the title says "King of Black", this is already pertaining to Knull or Meridus, and since the Last Dance of Venom is street level to immediate introduction to cosmic level, I think it is setting up for the "Symbiote War", I wanted to say "Venom War" but I believe since Knull is the main villain, Venom War will be pushed further, atleast when Dylan is conceived to fight in the Venom War.

Well in the case of captain Marvel even though it was released btw endgame and infinity war ,it was still set in the past ,so spiderman 4 could also take place before doomsday in the mcu so. Spiderman 4 may still be street level

How will that work? Unless the doomsday movie has a 5 year time skip which I doubt. Captain Marvel was born in the 1980s and in Avengers Endgame, it was 2019. which was when she appeared in the Avengers base. The space stone was the result of it slowing down her physical appearance. Or are you saying Spider-Man 4 takes place months after the third movie which could be possible but then again Spider-man 4 is sandwiched into Doomsday and Secret War so they have to make that connection.

Spider-Man 4 and Thor 5 are the movies that were needed to be character driven. Idk about SM4, but Thor 5 must be character driven. Movies like Logan, MOS and Raimi trilogy and shows like Loki are prime examples that why a character driven movie is better than a complete fanservice movie or a movie which does nothing but leads upto a big event. We need more character driven projects in MCU, SM4 and Thor 5 are the only ones that could be character driven imo. Dr Strange 3 and Shang Chi will have to set groundwork for Avengers movies, Fantastic 4 is mainly about the family bond and Armor Wars is about Tony's legacy.

What if Dr Doom is an alternate universe version of Tony Stark? I agree that's not developing the character, but saying he never developed through the trauma is dumb, he had to learn even if someone like Mysterio betrayed him and makes him create a mistake he never wanted leading to said trauma, that he still had to be pure at his core, that vengeance isn't right and everyone he fought deserves better than what they got, and that yes betrayals DO happen, we DO unexpectedly slip up and cause bad things, and we do suffer painful losses,but it's how he copes through all of it, and tobey and Andrew teaching him was PERFECT! He has to learn to better while also never losing his way. THAT'S what Drives him,That's at his core character, as he both changes and doesn't change at the same time! As a fan, I would love to see Tom's Spider-Man take on a street-level superhero story. But, I also want to see him and his character be a part of something bigger. It might also be because I watch and like anime, but in animes, there's this recurring theme of how the stakes keep getting higher with each arc. The hero keeps facing tougher and tougher challenges, raising the stakes every time and keeping things exciting and interesting. Sure, there are non-world-threatening and peaceful moments in between and they are just as enjoyable. And I think the street-level story for Tom could work similarly as that - in that it could still happen sometime in the future but just not at the moment. I can understand the business aspects of the whole ordeal as well from Marvel and Sony's perspective whose main purpose in making these movies, along with telling great stories is to ultimately earn a lot of money. As a fan, I'm fine if they go with a multiversal stakes route this time around as it would keep the momentum going narratively preceding and following the Avengers movies. As mentioned in the video, it just makes a lot of sense timing-wise. I will wait patiently for the street-level Spider-Man story to be told in the hopefully not-so-distant future and happily go to the theatres to watch it when it is eventually released. As for now, I'm excited to see what kind of story Marvel and Sony will tell - regardless of whether it will be one of a street-level or a multiversal threat.

I understand your perspective and I mostly agree with you but let's be fair we already have grounded street level Holland Spider-Man movies. Homecoming street level, Far From Home not exactly street level but still relatively grounded

@@Jay-gq1mo True, but I think the kind of street-level Spider-Man movie people are asking for is like the pre-MCU Sony universe movies starring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. While I do agree that Homecoming and Far From Home were grounded in their own respects, they still had elements from the MCU which elevated them to higher heights - such as Tony Stark's appearance in the first movie along with all the Stark technology playing a pivotal role in both of the movies' plots. Not to mention that most of Tom's Peter's Spider-Man costumes were built using Stark technology. So, I guess people want to see Tom's character in a story where he doesn't rely on fancy Stark tech and takes on a foe on his own using his wits and strength and without the help of other major superhero characters. Personally, I'm excited about whichever route they pursue. I'm just hoping for a good story with a thrilling movie experience.

Not every story needs to be a spectacle. It also needs to be good and rewatchable and most importantly impactful. Everything seems rushed nowadays... just to get to the next cameo, the next movie, the next phase A cameo apperance is good and enjoyable i agree but the entire story being a leadup is so cheap for the audience lol even tho it may garner some hollering moments

9:30 Absolutely NOT. No. The Russo brothers brought peter into the marvel cinematic universe, yes, but they grounded him spectacularly. This is the only movie (Civil War) where he says "I wanna look out for the little guy" and says his interpretation of "With great power comes great responsibility" Peters character was perfect under the Russo's direction and then in his solo movies directed by Jon Watts his Arc was reverted over and over.
