Oh man, i gotta share some funny trivia about the Sheogorath Shrine Quest. So, if you start the Quest with the Shivering Isles DLC while supposed to actually be doing a Quest for Sheogorath in his own realm, he'll comment on how you're not doing what he told you. Also, if you start the Quest with the Shivering Isles DLC AFTER completing the Main Story inside of it, his Butler will ask why you're praying to yourself, before giving you the quest instead.
@matthewpippin25025 жыл бұрын
To add to this, if you don't have The Shivering Isles installed, there's a different voice actor than the one used for Shivering Isles and Skyrim, which sounds much better suited for "The Prince of Madness" IMO.

I've only played Oblivion once as I got it quite recently and it took me a while to get into it, but I've played through most of the quests now. The strangest quest for me was the one with the "Pale Lady" in Skingrad prison. Apparently she was a vampire and used to come once in a while to drain the blood of the prisoners. In the meantime the count of Skingrad is Janus Hassildor, a vampire himself, who despite being a vampire himself, he claims that he despises his kind because he fears that a vampire clan would attempt to make everyone in Skingrad vampires and he wanted to protect his people, yet he apparently seems to have to problem with that "Pale Lady". Although a connection between that "Pale Lady" and Janus Hassildor is never stated, or even implied, it sounded really logical to me since guards didn't seem to mind that a random "Lady" was "visiting" prisoners the moment the prison itself was restricted to the public. One more thing: After killing the "Pale Lady", Janus Hassildor enterer the same cell, but didn't do anything, he didn't even spoke to me. I assumed that the developers removed the part that was connecting that "Pale Lady" and Hassildor because they wanted to make him seem righteous, despite being a vampire. Anyway, I just wanted to point that out. PS: I read somewhere that Bethesda stated that Hassildor was alive and well by fourth era (Skyrim timeline.) but never appeared or mentioned in the game. Wonder if they will mention him in future releases...
@Bauglir1004 жыл бұрын
Well, there's some dialogue implying that the Pale Lady was collecting blood to feed the Countess, who was in a coma from not drinking any blood despite her Vampirism.

My favourite bit about Whodunit is how re-playable it is. The order you kill them in creates such different reactions and there's some pretty tragic outcomes (like the Dunmer killing the Nord even though she reminded him of his daughter). I also remember a Thieves Guild quest where you have to break someone out of jail but it turns into this really creepy mystery when you find out all the prisoners are being abducted one-by-one by "The Pale Lady". That really caught me off guard.

Reflect damage. My character is level 37, heavy armor, quickly capped on endurance, dozens of health potions crafted by himself at 100 alchemy with expert equipment. And he has the Escutcheon of Chorrol. I walked into the Imperial city and started a fight. 4 or 5 watchmen attacking me at once, i just walked around taking no damage due to the over time health restoration from the potions, and they slowly died from the damage reflection. I only lost when my armor eventually broke. Eventually like 13 watchmen were dead I still only have like skill level 60 in block, so I'm thinking of just blocking atatcks from now on in fights, and let the reflections do the work. Most OP character I've had.

My only complaint about the Thieves Guild quest in Oblivion was that there was *a lot* of lockpicking, which meant I made *a lot* of quick saves before each lockpick attempt, yes Thieves would revolve around lockpicking but come on, and I'm pretty sure you get the Skeleton key from a Daedric quest not from DB or TG, trust me, I have every achievement so I know this, and if you mean the SK in Skyrim, you do realize you can keep that as long as you want, as long as you don't give it back, and since it counts as a quest item it can't be removed from your inventory. The Cowl of the Gray Fox is ok if you're good at getting hidden from guards, because if you're seen taking it on and off you get in trouble regardless

the 3rd one has to be the most memorable quest for me. I tried to be all sneaky and smart about it so I talked to the people first and got these dudes to be really protective over this elf girl, i could've used that to isolate them but instead i chose to kill the old lady and the guard first because i didn't like them, however when i came back to the other guests shit broke lose, the elf chick went bananas and started attacking the other guys, the guys, infatuated with the elf started attacking each other to "protect" the chick but she ended killing both of them, i was hella confused so i just stood there watching, once it was done i went to speak with the girl and she... she had the fucking nerve to suggest that i was the killer, since only the two of us were remaining WELL IT HAD TO BE ME RIGHT? There IS actually a murder mystery quest in Morrowind. It actually is in Seyda Neen, if I spelled that right, the town the game drops you in when you start a new game. You hear rumors about a tax collector, which not many liked, has gone missing. You can find his dead body just a little to the north of town, and bring the news to the town’s head guard. You talk to a few people, and eventually you’re led onto a path and find the murderer then kill him. It’s not very long or interesting, but hey, it’s a murder mystery.

I LOVED all of the Thieve's Guild missions, I was bored and started killing a few guards in the imperial city and I got a letter. From my knowledge in Skyrim I figured it was the Dark Brotherhood. But it was the Thieve's Guild. I decided to build my char on stealth and security from then on, and all of the missions brought excitement and a desperation to pick a lock without breaking your last lockpick, and not get caught! My favorite mission had to be the Bravil castle robbery, when you had to retrieve the ring. Remembering the guard's patrol patterns and sneaking thought her bedroom (Insert joke) was to fun, and then either quickly rushing out or sneaking out of the castle felt so accomplishing.

There is a crime solving quest in Morrowind (more with the expansions) where you find out who killed Ralen Hlaalo (sp?) in Balmora. It's short but you can be rewarded no matter what house you're in. In Bloodmoon you can solve who stole hides within the Skaal and in Tribunal you have several mysteries. It's seriously fun to do the one where you are an actor in a play.

Best thing about the Sheogorath Shrine Quest if you do it after The Shivering Isles instead of Sheogorath talking to you from the Shrine, it is Haskill who contacts and tells you that the previous Sheogorath had some unfinished buisness that was cut short by the Greymarch and Haskill asks you to complete the prank as a sign that you are begging to take on the role as the New Sheogorath and that the rain of fiery dogs was your doing.

A good piece of consististency is that if you do the shivering isles before sheogoraths shrine quest Haskill will answer instead of him. Im relatively new to the game so you probably already know but still a cool thing to me.

Some of the best quests are from the Dark Brotherhood. I don't usually do DB quests, since I never play sneaky characters and am usually a "good guy", but some of them are really fun. There's one called 'Whodunit?' where you're locked in a mansion with 5 other people, and you have to lure them into secluded areas and kill them off one by one. They all get paranoid, and start accusing each other. It's pretty fun.

When you exit the shaft on the Ultimate Heist quest there are ways to land without destroying the boots of Springheel Jack! It was quite some time ago but I believe I used a Scroll of Might gained as a reward for helping a crazy man find another place to sleep besides his own house (because he was afraid the walls would fall on him) from a Shivering Isles (Oblivion Expansion) quest. I miss these games.

I'd like to mention the quest with Glarthir, the paranoid Bosmer in Skingrad. That was when Bethesda still had the courage to troll the player. I remember spending a whole ingame day hiding in bushes and watching some harmless woman working her vineyard.

Oblivion has amazing intricate quests as the norm. Skyrim is lucky if it can get a good one. Bethesda opted to add radiant quests into the mix. Which turns out to be fetch quests and kill this guy with a different name. Rinse and repeat it gets old quickly. It kills me how much Bethesda was bragging about their radiant quests. As if they were the holy grail of gaming. They however turned out to be the bane of gamers. They either need to improve upon then or get rid of them. Personally I'd prefer if they removed them except for post guild line quests. What good is it to have a game never ending if the player isn't going to sludge through most of it? Hell they design their games that way. Hence why their games lack meaningful choices and classes. That is counter intuitive to these kinds of games.
@azazeraazymoto65206 жыл бұрын
You do realize that Bethesda made every single one of the elder scrolls games right including oblivion and Morrowind.
