Oh, a quick note regarding the "Combining Adversaries" rules shown at 20:00 - those are the ones released during the Kickstarter campaign; playtesting on those rules continued for a good while afterwards, and they ended up changing a little bit - eg, instead of both Escalations applying on Stage 2 cards, you choose one Adversary to use Escalations as normal and the other applies their Escalation to all Stage III cards; Difficulty approximation is more like "the higher Difficulty +50-75% of the lower"; etc.

I was looking to scratch my Spirit Island itch and searched for Eric Reuss, and i stumble across an interview by a podcaster i enjoy just posted yesterday. Excellent timing, Jack! And no worries about spoilers, i'm hungry as the Ocean for them!

I had this playing in the background and it sounded like Ed Helms was leading the interview. Great interview, a lot of insights into board game design in general and one of my favorite games in particular! :)

Charles Ham never been compared to Ed Helms before but I’ve HEAVILY identified with Andy in the office. So I’ll take it.

I’m so impressed. Stumbled upon your channel recently due to my passion for Spirit Island. You have so much other high quality content as well. Recent top 5 co-op list was great too. You are very good at what you do. You lead interviews well; they flow naturally, do not feel scripted, and you transition well. Surprised this channel isn’t much bigger. I’ll keep spreading the word!

Thank you Cory, that means the world to me. Sometimes it's easy to get in your own head about what you can/should/would have done better, but in general I'm happy with how the channel has evolved. Also, always glad to have a chance to hear from another SI Die-Hard like myself.

Please don't talk about future expansions when that BrokenToken Box just cost me 120 dollars to import ;)

I am very interested in Spirit Island/Jagged Earth and For Science! content. I am NOT interested in spoilers, though. This video was chock-full of spoilers (randomly showing the new spirit boards while somebody's talking and making full topics of conversation based on spoiling the game and future expansions). A little warning would have been great. Eric did a great job of warning when he was going to bring up a spoiler ("Oh, I can spoil this new minor power in Jagged Earth"). This gave me plenty of time to mute. But sometimes while the video is muted and I'm watching to see when the topic of conversation has moved on, it shows a new spirit board!!!!!! GAHHHHHH. Anyway, this is a comment to warn other people in the same situation that this has so many spoilers in it. It may be better to wait to watch the video until after you've played Jagged Earth enough not to feel like you need to stay away from spoilers. The purpose also is to give feedback to the video producer to be more wary in the future of spoilers and how they affect viewers.

Hi Skytile. I'm super appreciative of your comment, though I gotta admit I'm surprised. I'd never heard of board game content in non-campaign and/or legacy games being considered a spoiler. In almost any circumstance I've found that any news being unveiled about a new strategy game is welcome. That said, in case others like you want to avoid spoilers, I've added a note at the top of the description to wait for the audio version on the podcast feed. Thank you & cheers from Alaska!
