Adrien is an amazing empath, and all his actions come from a past where he was continuously lied to over and over again. Words aren't enough for him, and he's right. Despite that, he never wants to see anyone suffer the way he has, and is willing to throw everything away to save someone from stumbling upon that path. I love adrien as a character because I relate so much to him. A kid who’s constantly been overprotected and overwhelmed with expectations, never feeling validated, and constantly being in your room with the feeling of loneliness being right there with you. 25:30 it's funny how the whole of the episode Risk on Adrien is about people coming to him and in some way or another trying to convince him that he needs to stand up to his father and take control of his life. And it's interesting how they first bring Marinette to try and convince him then they bring Felix and then Kagami, I say "interesting" because Marinette is someone Adrien trusts, and Marinette tries to calmly ask him why he won't stand up to his father and is the first one to tell him he should do it, it's like the universe is starting to bring Adrien subtle signs that he needs to take control of his life. Then Felix comes along, I know everyone says that Felix only used Adrien for his own plans which yes that's true but for a little bit he did actually try, in his own way, just like Marinette and Kagami, to tell Adrien that he needs to set himself free, even if in the end he was like "Alright I'm done let's use him for my own devious plan now😁" 😂. I have other things in mind to say that could show why Felix does actually care about Adrien but that's not important now. But back to it Felix is not the one to really scream in people's faces especially not to Adrien, he's mostly the calm one, so this is just a step up from Marinette a little more on the nose but still not it. Then comes the big guns, Kagami. Completley screaming in his face while still giving the most clear and well worded explanation, and all of that builded up together is what makes Adrien finally snap out of it. It's like Marinette was the "Why don't you do it?" Felix was the "You should do it" and Kagami was the "BOY YOU DO IT RIGHT NOW!"

At first, i actually liked the episode "risk" because it focused on adrien's struggles, something we don't get to see often. But now, i don't really like "risk". Because, as a introvert, i overthink everything. So I overthinked the episode, and ....well- I just realised that the only reason the writers even gave Adrien a " struggle" (Adrien standing up to his father) is to move the plot further. Adrien is *Not* getting character development. They randomly thought to give Adrien this struggle just for ladybug to loss all the miraculous. Even a episode that we thought was kind of focused on Adrien, leads back to marinette. I feel adrien's struggles aren't highlighted often. Either he's a senti-monster, or he's just so tolerant. For a minute, just imagine yourself in adrien's place. Even the thought of it sounds exhausting. The writers don't even bother to make Adrien realistic (stop using the "maybe he's a senti-monster" excuse to defend bad writting) But i understand. Perfection doesn't exist. Other than this, i actually enjoyed this episode. And, yeah, i agree with all the points you said!

this a great view of Adrien. Adrien is such an interesting character since he has a terrible homelife he sees things differently than the way other teenagers see things but somehow, he does not his terrible homelife get the best of and he still manages to be an amazing friend which, is defying the odds against him. It has been scientifically proven if you grow up in the kind of environment Adrien grew up in you are most likely going to a be a bully. I also think all the point you made further the prove the idea that Adrien needs Marinette in his life. Since Marinette is the exact opposite of Gabriel in the sense that she is always willing listen to anything Adrien has to say Marinette completes his life without Marinette Adrien would feel more alone and uncomfortable than he did before Gabriel started letting him attend school.

I’m a little frustrated about Ladybug lying about his father being a hero. That is not sparing him. Lila’s probably gonna tell him and then he won’t be able to trust Ladybug. Before the finale, I was still pro-Adrienette, but now… I hate lying and manipulating. How can he trust anyone now besides Natalie? It’s selfish of Marinette to keep ALL of the information that she’s been hiding from him. He’s the only person who should find out. Why does Kagami know he’s a sentimonster and why didn’t Marinette tell him about Chat Blanc? He’s the most in the dark of anyone in the show! That is so wrong! Another fantastic video, and thank you for coming to the defense of Adrien Agreste because many people in the fandom don't understand what he's going through and the abuse and trauma he can't get out of. I like how you mentioned that he is co-dependent, which is something I don't think it's talked about in the fandom. As you said, Adrien expects every relationship he has in his life and with people he interacts with will be exactly like his father. He needs to put on a mask and be a certain way to be accepted by people. Obviously, being a model, the face and ambassador of his father's fashion company, he's expected to be that way, or people won't buy his dad's clothes and products. It's the only thing that he knows. So, Adrien expects that from everyone, even his best friend Nino, because accidentally, Nino gives the impression that Adrien is this cool kid with a rich dad, and that's who he needs to be. It's also one of the reasons he models; even though he hates everything about it, it's mostly to receive the love and admiration he desperately craves from his dad. Something as you mentioned with Ladybug, he depends on her to free him of the burden of his civilian life but still be the superhero that cracks puns and is the fun partner for her. My poor sunshine boy.🤧🤧😢 Also, I think you forgot to mention his friendship with Marinette, where he doesn't need to put up a facade around her or anything else. As we've seen in the show like he's sad one moment, then Marinette enters the room; he's all happy and excited. He is drawn to her because he can be more honest with her than anyone else. After all, she listens and cares about him and doesn't force him to do something he doesn't want to do. Marinette gives him advice and encourages him rather than make himself feel sorry for himself, as we've seen with that scene in Risk with Felix. The Adrienette in this season was incredible.

Another great video. Thanks. I particularly like that you care about the characters the way they are; flaws and all. It is weird how many people can't do that. To many people, saying that a person has a flaw means that you hate them or are being mean. To me, perhaps because I know that I am flawed myself, his flaws, in particular watching him fight against those flaws are what makes him such a compelling character. I see myself in Adrien (and Marinette) in a way that I don't see in any other show out there. You are one of the few people that seems to get that and I greatly appreciate it. I wish that you had more time to cover 'Glaciater 2', though. In particular, the ending scene is so important when Adrien tells Plagg that he needs to show Ladybug more of his true self. (And that Marinette was the one who let him see that!) I know that lesson didn't stick since there was lots of angst after that, but it was still an important realization. In real life you often have to learn the same lesson multiple times before it sticks. Again, great job. I hope you can find a way for youtube to give your channel the respect that it deserves. For some reason youtube doesn't put you on my feed very often, even though I have often responded to your posts. I have subscribed, though, so maybe that will help.

Honestly, Adrien reminds me a lot of Finn from Adventure Time. Both messed up in their relationships with girls, but much like Finn learned from his experiences, I think Adrien has too; the writers just don't always show it. Based on this, I think Adrien will eventually become friends with Kagami again, or at the very least be on speaking terms with her.

Wanting to please his parents as a child doesn't make him not human it makes him a good child who loves his parents and too young to know what he want to do, he was isolated all his young life and doesn't know there is more out in the world than his parents Chloe Felix and his aunt Amily. Adrien is not a Sentimonster And speaking of Origins Ladybug saved Chloe and Cat Noir knew it, and in Lady Wifi Cat Noir suspected Chloe of being Ladybug what's with the inconsistency?! In Kuro Neko when he joined them Ladybug looked obviously angry he was there The reason why the lucky charm didn't work with Cat Walker was because Ladybug was attracted to him and couldn't concentrate on the mission because of her crush on him The impression I got when Cat Noir over heard Ladybug's gushing adoration to Flairmidable's success was he thought he was the boy she told him about whom she is in love with and it saddened him realizing he does exist If Adrien were empathetic he would be able to read Marinette - but he is oblivious because of his insecurities, when I think he knows how she feels about him because in Puppeteer 2 he casually let her down by telling her the girl he is in love with doesn't like pranks either he proves me wrong like in Frozer if he knows then he was being cruel going to her for advice on how to date Kagami, so I don't believe he knows. Because of his father neglecting his important needs he feels rejected, he needs to feel loved wanted needed and useful and not because he is famous but for him as a very good friend like he feels from Marinette even though she backs off of things she says he still feels she is a very good friend whom he can trust with his feelings Sorry for the delayed additions I've been distracted and watching this video in between the distractions and posting my thoughts right away otherwise I'd forget what I want to say. I disagree with the theory Adrien is a Senti monster one of the biggest pieces of evidence about this is when Adrien comes close to standing against his father Gabriel Agreste usually responds with something like go to your room and Adrien obeys and usually a teenager won`t obey something like this since Adrien has been isolated his whole life obviously, he is going to have trouble standing up anything it has been scientifically proven that if you are kept in isolation you're going to have harder standing up to anyone and you are more likely take orders whenever you want to or not

My main issue with Miraculous is that everything concrete happens way too slowly and when it does need that time to develope, it get resolved in a single episode or two. This show has a serious pacing issue and it's quiet shocking that it took almost 80 episodes for the most abused character to show this kind of development.

First, my funny comment. This team needs burner phones. Would solve so many problems. If they are nowhere near the akuamtized victim or sentimonster is, they can call each other on the burner phones. I feel where he is was coming from in the New York special is when she yells, “i can’t trust you can I”. Yes, it was in the heat of anger and stress, but I feel she kind of believes it. So this comment led to him being distracted and nearly killing uncanny valley. So he was the reason for nearly killing someone and wasn’t trustworthy compared to Ladybug. I think his flaws are realistic and relatable. Many of us are passive aggressive and want to avoid conflict. Also, many of us are trusting in others even when it bites us in the butt. Not condoning the excessive flirting, but what drives me nuts more is how the show makes him look stupid every chance they get and how they make him a doormat to Ladybug. I also hate that he has to change his entire identity to be someone even close to the person that Ladybug would want. It was as soon as she got distracted by him that is when she missed Cat Noir. I now understand why she was worried about the love comment, but this news is not new. She already knew that so I blame the writers for that line. I feel he has addressed him not liking secrets from the beginning and it always causes their same arguments but Ladybug does not reassure him enough. No, she does not need to hold his hand, but she needs to say more than, “if this happened to me…” spiel and “you’re irreplaceable”. They need to have a full fledged conversation about boundaries and the truth which will happen if she showed up to their patrols.

The development of Adrien is strange for me. In Lies he doesn't care much about hurting Kagami just see again the finale he doesn't care I was hoping a little cry like Marinette for break up with Luka. In Sentibubbler I understend he fell out but come on calm down Cat Noir don't destroy a wall but I gotta say at least he calm down by expresing his anger without harm anyone. In Glaciator 2 it was a mess a Lot of "romantic development" for Adrien get kick out of the window saying "I just have to be myself and she will fall for me" like dude it have been 4 seasons move on like you do in Season 2. In rocketear it was good nothing more yo say. But in Hacksan it was hipocrite by the part of Adrien cause it was the same mistake that he made with Ladybug in the New York Special not telling all to the other and almost kill Scarabella because he doesn't care in listen to her. In Kuro Neko I understend the concept of he being out because the horrible life in his house but the show make him seem horrible and selfish because they say that he renounce to Plagg because "Ladybug doesn't love me" I hate this episode they make him see horrible. Let's not talk about Strikeback like come on Cat Noir this isn't the time to be jelous the city is in chaos. I'm sorry but Adrien development isn't good is contradictory a lot of times. In My perspective Adrien was damage and not develop very well and the exposition in Kuro Neko sucks is Bad and contradictory. But that is just My opinion and also is weird to see Ladybug fall in a crush only in minutes for an strange.

As Catwalker he admitted that Lafybug doesn't need to make special time for him and he should accept that he isn't always needed. But admittedly you are right his charcter was pretty strange in Season 4
