Yes, I did 2 12yr novenas also. I was concerned that I'd live through both. During the 1st one, midway, I found a tiny breast lump. None of my doctors could detect it. I kept insisting on an ultrasound and finally they agreed. It revealed a tumor no larger than a pea! But the biopsy showed it was extremely fast growing and deadly. I ended up with a bilateral mastectomy. I always felt that the novena led me to find it by myself and convince my doctors to follow up.

I prayed a novena to St. Thomas Moore after not getting a job as a lawyer during law school. My grades were amazing and I had more interviews at top firms than any other classmate and two federal appeals clerkship interviews. Lots of second interviews too, but I just couldn't get over the finish line. A year later, still no job, and a federal appeals court called me offering me a clerkship. Someone had backed out over lack of pay. This is an ultra prestigious position that you accept the lower pay for to set up your resume for life. This set me on the path to an amazing legal career and I thank God and St. Thomas Moore's intercessions.

Since I was a small child, I already saw my mom praying her nightly prayers and novenas, even after praying our family rosary at 6 pm daily. Growing up Catholic and attending a Catholic school from kindergarten to college, I think I inherited that trait. Up until now that I've been married, novenas are still attached to my life. I feel the strength and peace they give me in life! Best and God bless on your program!

I go to water aerobics everyday. I do the 7 sorrows and the efficacious novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on my way there and the rosary on my way home. I’ve been doing the 12 year prayer for 5 years so far and have taught it to our ladies group in church.

My grandmother was a devout Catholic & my greatest support throughout the first 32 yrs of life, until God called her home in 2012. (I am 42y now). She drove school bus for 30+ yrs and always put children first. She took me on her bus run with her multiple times per week, from infancy up until I was about 12y of age (old enough to babysit my little brother & sister after school). My grandmother often went to a Novena after her afternoon bus run & I would go with her - my little brother sometimes, too. As a child, attending church after a long day at school made me tired, as if the quietness of the church seeped into my bones. In summers it was hot. I was torn between following my busy brother outside & cooling off in the fresh air on the lawn & sitting quietly near my grandmother, while resting my head on the polished wood & breathing in the calmness of the candles & the comforting energy of the church as the people prayed. I cant remember ever learning that the word Novena means “nine”. But I remember what going to church with her gave me & how she nurtured the seed of faith in my heart (and countless others) through her example, from the moment I was born into this world. Her name was Marlene - as a child, she was the only French girl at school with a German name. Marlene Jane (Provençal) Josephson. She was a woman of faith, grace & dignity. She served others at the expense of herself all the days of her life, especially her children & grandchildren, and sometimes even strangers (criminals, drug addicts, single mothers & the homeless) who were going through hard times & had no support system. May God rest her soul, until we meet again & always. Thank you, Catholic Talk Show! We love & appreciate you! I like the idea of thinking about what Mother Mary smelled on the day Jesus was born. God bless, you guys! Peace be with you all. Amen 💖🙏🏼😇

I was having to readjust my life and start over back in 2008. One thing I had picked up was praying each day during my time I spent in seminary. I noticed when I would finish the Rosary that it would be in twisted knots like someone had tied it up in all sorts of ways. NO WAY had I done this myself, I just passed along the beads as I was praying. It was startling, honestly and had never happened to me before. It happened a lot during this time. I was busy a lot traveling so I would pray it in my car. I got to the point that I would pause and look at it to "catch it" tangling. Sometimes I would where it had started twisting up - I investigated how this was happening but couldn't figure it out (maybe how I was holding it? Then why not before?). I wondered if it was from a bad spirit trying to discourage me from praying or perhaps was reminding me of sins I was struggling with. I looked it up on line about Rosaries twisting into knots. I came across something about Mary Undoer or Knots but it didn't say much other than she undoes the problems in our life. Back in 2008 maybe this had not hit the internet yet/been posted about. It was great to see this presented here as an actual novena. Maybe Mary was trying to point me to this but I was too duh to pick up on it (but I did try), or maybe was a sign simply that she was working on untwisting the knots of sins I was struggling with. It has gotten much better I admit and I am not struggling like I was back then but realize it easily can so I must commit to following Christ every day.

I listened to this podcast earlier in my car today. I am a fan of novenas… I did the 15, 15, 15 x 365 St Bridget of Sweden prayers… It’s 15 Our Fathers, 15 Hail Marys & 15 sort of stations of the cross prayers DAILY for a YEAR… as dictated by Jesus to the nun to get 15 promises from Jesus, including no loss of limbs or one’s senses… /// I also did the St Margaret Mary Thursday night “hang time” with Jesus… From 11pm - 11:30pm on my knees with my arms outstretched as if I was on the cross with Jesus while gazing at the Sacred Heart of Jesus image venerated by St Margaret Mary… at week 50/52 Jesus put me on the cross mystically and I could see the people at my feet as if I was looking through the eyes of Jesus. /// I have also done a 9 hour novena for a sick/ dying person… I prayed the prayer every hour for 9 straight hours… // I love saying the St Gertrude prayer for 1000 souls released in to heaven early in union with masses said throughout the whole world… said it hundreds of times…

What a gift your content is, to so many Catholics and seekers! I'd like to suggest that, in order to encourage your Catholics' and seekers' growth and attention span, and reduce the numbers of potential subscribers who flip channels and flee, maybe you could focus more on your content by reducing only the most unnecessary distractions. Focus on the conversation and your viewers will too. Suggestions: 1. Chat/banter is what keeps your show upbeat and friendly. We love it, and can learn from it. But way too much is disrespectful to your viewers who came for info that's presented in an upbeat and friendly manner. Balance. 2. Your viewers will care about and seek out your advertisers/sponsors if you care about and seek out your viewers. Advertising - however good and important it is - is not, I guarantee you, what your viewers came for. No amount of tying your commercials in to the topic will change it into anything other than what it is. Advertising. That's what you have your Details for. When you hit a topic your advertiser covers, direct your viewers to the link you've put in Details, saying (just once or twice in the whole show) that the advertiser is a great resource for whatever you're covering. Otherwise it's the advertiser's show. An infomercial. Not what we came for. 3. If one of you isn't interested in the topic the other 2 are talking about, nobody else will be interested either. Looking at and reacting to each other, to the people who are talking, will show your viewers that they should be interested too. If one of you turns his head and looks away into the distance, the viewers automatically follow that and wonder what's out there. They're curious about what they can't see and want to know what's going on that's more important. And you've lost a viewer, because they didn't come to learn how to ignore the topic. They came because the topic in your title got their attention, and the style of your title made them trust you to give them the info painlessly. They want to learn about it, in an upbeat, friendly manner. That's all. Keep it honest.

I decided to pray a novena to St. Jude because while I have learned to be content in all circumstances, I fervently hope that the Lord will move me out of Israel to Italy. I no longer feel this is where I belong now that I'm the widow of a Jewish Believer. I sincerely believed that I had Jewish Ancestry but I think the information I was given was in error. I do have the right to Italian citizenship thru my father and that is in process but israel gives me some income I will lose and although Italy will also give me some, it's less and I won't have enough. I'm going to Italy for a month starting Feb. 22. I am hoping to find an answer then, be it a pious Catholic husband or a means to continue to support myself. I'm 76.

@33:12 Did anyone else catch that math for the 12yr devotional? Say 7 prayers for 365 days over 12 years; and you'll have prayed once for each of the wounds Christ endured? If my math is right and Christ experienced about 5,000 wounds, then you would have prayed for each of those wounds about 6 times over. 7prayers x 365days = 2,555 x 12years = 30,660 / 5,000wounds = 6.132 prayers per wound?
