I am a Muslim Converted..Baptized in April...Jesus, My Sweetheart, turned his ear and heard me! Even before I thought of converting I had learned all the rosaries Prayers, which I had started to do everyday and the Divine Chapel of Jesus. I learned all the prayers, and, things were just appearing on my phone. I would see signs Everywhere I Go. How things seem to unfold revel naturally to me. As in nature, rabbits would walk up to me, Swan came off the lake to greet me, and I have to say, there's nothing in this world like the love of Jesus! it's enlightening, there's no human being no material things no diamonds, nothing that can fulfill me and make my heart joyful as my sweetheart Jesus, has done for me! I love him so much I have This insatiable love for Him, I'm addicted to him .my Sweetheart Jesus..🌈🕊🌏🕊💚

In highschool I was drawn to the priesthood, I spent those years really trying to discern it or not, all my family was betting on me being a priest, but I never really felt the call for it. I asked God to call me to priesthood but it never happened. Then a year after highschool I met my now fiancé and I felt a strong calling to marriage so now here we are preparing for it.

Thank you for sharing your testimony Fr Rich. I hope a lot of young men get to view this episode. Your words were beautiful. I hope you don’t mind me sharing my vocation story… after discerning for myself I was called to marriage. This year I will be married 32 years with four beautiful daughters. But I am also the wife of a permanent deacon. For those men who are discerning, please make sure that your wives support you in your journey. It’s an incredible journey , with so much fulfillment. It’s a journey of great charity. But , it’s very important that your spouse supports you. For a few years, I was on a panel of wives that were there to help the wives of those men in the process of the journey…. We were their to help them spiritually and to give them the encouragement when things felt confusing. In my diocese it is a five year journey. The first year being discernment … just like for the priesthood. There is an initial interview with a deacon/s with his/their wives to seek acceptance , if accepted then there wil be interviews and retreats … after aspirancy you will be again interviewed if you are accepted to candidacy… I could continue but just so you know the beginning of your journey… Fr Rich , my husband’s initial interview was at St. Rita’s parish and two days before her feast day…so we have something in common. Wish I could me you three in person… you are all so informative and I love the laughs . God bless🙏🏻

Forgot to add… if your wife dies after you are ordained to the diaconate , you are not allow to remarry. So depending on your diocese there might be an age requirement and also the age of your children

At my high school, Br. Tom laid face down on the gym floor and became Fr. Tom in the late 80s. He had one disfigured hand (born that way) and he never mentioned that that was an issue ever. He later became the principal of our school for many years and now pastors one of the CA missions. Love that guy. He once was engaged to be married too, but God won, I guess. Do prospective nuns get to go to college too when they enter the sisterhood? That sounds like such a fascinating experience. Wow, going to school for something you're excited about!

Great show, interesting and informative! You guys are very funny and have a good chemistry together.(How many times have you heard that?) When you all said at the end "Dominus Vobiscum" and you answered "Et cum spiritu tuo" I wondered if any of you go to a Latin Mass? Also, whenever Ryan DellaCrosse turns his head and looks over at the camera it makes the appearance that he's looking right at you through the camera to see if you are either paying attention or what you are thinking. I noticed that this was posted in May of 2022 and I'm just seeing it now. I was happy to hear you mention Pope John XXIII National Seminary in Weston Massachusetts. Last Apri of 2022 l I attended Pope John XXIII National Seminary for a First Friday Discernment for the first time as a late vocation obviously and I've been to about 5-6 since and I've absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed the experience; in particular meeting the seminarians there and when I've had the chance to occasionally sit in on some classes. I would be remiss if I also didn't mention how good the food is there as well, so much so that if I'm fasting on that Friday I never make it through their dinners that they have there without breaking my fast. It's very good food! I'd appreciate your prayers as I go through this process and I'll keep you all in mine as well. I also can't believe you guys don't have way more subscribers by now too. I'm from long island NY.. I go to whatever Catholic Church I'm near to in my daily schedule, but I've gone to St John's in Bohemia NY? a lot and they have a Jesus statue hanging on the wall I saw Jesus face came to life three times at that church!.. I swear!.. I'm In Love With Jesus..I couldn't imagine my life without him.. he is the love of my life I can't tell you. I don't think there's anyone in this world that could take his place in my heart!

Have you considered doing a documentary?. I watched one about 7 years ago and I think it was called "God Or The Girl" It was very interesting. They followed around 4-5 young men who were discerning the Priesthood and what they went through and the decisions they had to make. Apparently sometimes the girl wins over God.

I always say to God the Father, when, I'm praying, and, I am in front of the Eucharist almost every night. I go to church Saturdays and Sundays to receive communion. I do confession every month, but I always say to the father, I know you love me as much as you love David? and Isaiah? I know father you love me just as much as you love Solomon and Samuel.🌈🕊

Master's and advanced formal education be trimmed for more practical studies, like counseling and focusing on the Catachism? Seems like a very qualified Pastor could be turned out without nearly a decade of theroletical study...

My husband did seminary before he left and met me. - no skipping. You have to train, and that means basically getting a doctorate. It's not just spiritual discernment, it's academic and practical training (classes, getting your undergrad and graduate degrees, summer assignments...there's a lot). - you work with your spiritual director. You also take retreats with various religious orders if you feel a calling in that direction ("come and see"). Going to a diocesan seminary is probably a good start if you're not sure yet.

I am sure he could answer your questions and give you some direction. I wish you all the best...and by Gods grace, become a Holy Priest. Better yet...shoot for sainthood! Hey brother! I'm currently a postulant for The Missionaries of the Holy Spirit. When I first started discernment after a very deep encounter with Christ I had the same question as you LOL! I researched myself many religious orders and learned about a few. Learning is key to understand what you may feel drawn towards. Also being open to prayer and to God where he calls you. Talking with your parish priest or if you have a spiritual director (if you don't you should find one also!) That helped me. I first met with a religious Brother to ask questions and to just chat and it was a process for me of a year and some.

It’s so much easier to just be raised catholic than Protestant, you can be raised catholic and never ever go to mass but you’re set with all sacraments, you can be 90 and still go to confession for the first time, so lucky!!!

What is the annual salary for a Catholic Priest (Diocesan) $ In many dioceses, the salary is set by the bishop, and it is never enough for any single ordained lifestyle.

Usually the pay varies from parish to parish and depends on whether the priest in question is the pastor or the assistant. (Ballpark estimate for where I am, 20-25k a year? That may not be accurate though). The pay may not be much (I'm not a priest yet, soon-to-be a transitional deacon) but the parish covers many of the typical bills, rent, and other expenses. So really we don't need a large paycheck. There should be a healthy detachment from most things that would require a larger salary. To be certain, priesthood and religious life isn't something you get into for the money.

I have always felt a deep calling to be a priest but due to catholic rules I cannot be ordained. I am married and 57 yrs old. retired from my job our children are grown with lives of their own. Just me and the wife now. I have prayed that the Holy Father would change the rules and allow me to serve God in the way I have felt he has pulled me for many years. However sometimes more than often things get in the way and we do not submit to Gods will.

I have a bad experience with a catholic priest. I went to him because I have a demon attached to me. He put me on a program which I pray three times a day. Every week he wants me to email him with an update. He stopped emailing me and I stopped going to church. I thought he was going to help me.

I have full respect for whatever someone wants to believe in, I myself am Quaker. Due to the core belief of egalitarianism, we Quakers do not use any titles "Sir, Ma'am, Dr., Rev., Mr., Mrs., Ms., etc.",( plus in general we don't have a pastoral leadership setup). We use the term Friend only. Would a Priest be offended if I referred him as "Friend" or "Friend Smith" instead of "Father" or "Father Smith"?

The minor orders and tonsure being suppressed is a tragedy. Because at least when you're tonsured your second year of seminary you have the grace of state to help you, nowadays you don't get the state of cleric until ordained to the diaconate.

I'm pretty sure that the kid's have to be at least 18. Call the local parish or the local vocation director. You'll also need an annulment from your marriage. If you have to wait you'll have plenty of time to prepare, pray, learn and discern.

Well, first you have to be recognized by the diocesan vocations director as either gay or gay-adjacent. Then, you must display decidedly non-orthodox tendencies. Then, once admitted to seminary, you must demonstrate your willingness (or better, enthusiasm) for engaging in the gay-ndeer games. Then...well, I can't go on, it's too tragic.

I’ll pray for you-we are supposed to pray for our Priests as they face far greater trials than most because of who they are. It’s a grave sin to mock a Priest. You can’t condemn all for the actions of a few. The Catholic Church is greater than that, we are Gods Church, the Only one God started Himself!!!

Not judging good, God-fearing priests. Judging the LARGE number of functionaries in authority over the admission process and those ruling over too many seminaries who simply do NOT belong there. Actual priests know what I'm talking about. I've been told these things by MANY priests (and washed-out seminarians) in my acquaintance.

Also judging the plurality of spiritually empty, careerist bishops who have promoted, tolerated, or in any other manner allowed this contagion to take hold in our precious Church. Yep, those, I judge. And so will God.
