It’s always sad when someone says, “it’s okay as long as it’s not hurting anyone”, because they don’t think about the fact that it’s hurting Christ and Our Blessed Mother. 🥺

I would agree but sometimes the truth hurts and will not always be accepted by people even Christ said this when it came to His teaching on marriage and divorce. And I'm sure the money changers were upset having Christ overturn their tables and say they turned His Father's house into a den of thieves.

@prepperjonpnw64823 жыл бұрын
@@imalive4u169 she’s not talking about truth and whether or not it hurts. She’s speaking about when people will do something that they shouldn’t do usually because it’s a sin and they give the excuse “ it’s ok to do XYZ because I’m not hurting anyone”. They aren’t considering that what ever XYZ is might be hurting someone without the sinners knowledge. Also they aren’t thinking about how doing XYZ is hurting Christ and/or the Blessed Virgin Mary. They also aren’t thinking about how doing XYZ is actually hurting them usually in a delayed sense as in the hurt comes far enough into the future, which could be days, weeks or even years, that they don’t see the connection. Something that fits this concept perfectly is when men, of any age but especially the younger men, when they consume or watch pornographic materials alone. It fits all 3 of the types of hurt I just listed. It hurts Christ and His Mother. It hurts others, the people in the pornographic material wouldn’t be doing the things they are doing and definitely not in front of a camera if people didn’t pay to have it or view it. And lastly it hurts the person, usually young men, immediately as well as in a delayed fashion. Immediately because what they are doing is a sin. Then in a delayed fashion by affecting his relationship with women. Some effects would be trying to get his girlfriend to sleep with him before getting married, also if he does manage to get a woman to marry him he might try to convince his wife to do things he saw while viewing the porn, at the very least it will have an effect on his ability to feel pleasure while sleeping with his wife. This can have a very detrimental effect on a marriage and can lead to divorce. Lastly he might continue to view the porn while married and even convince his wife to watch it with him, ironically he will suggest to her that watching it together will fix the problems he is having in the bedroom. These are some examples of what a person doesn’t consider when they say “Hey as long as it’s not hurting anyone it’s ok”. But it is hurting someone, in fact it’s hurting many people. I apologize for such a long comment lol but I wanted to unpack the subject enough to explain in detail what Alicia was saying. I hope this helped. Cheers

My understanding of this is, am a single mother of 2 boys and every time my sons answers back with no respect and fights back my only solution for peace is bend my knees and pray fervently to God for the hurt . Meaning, I became closer to God every time my sons fights back , ignore me. Which disappoints me and thinks less of my children but more of God.

Taking closure of public Mass obediently. Becoming obssessive about sanitising and social distancing, an obssession which places irrational restrictions on congregations. Nothing the Church did to follow guidelines, and even to go beyond them, made a blind bit of difference to our State leaders. So many of our priests and bishops are emasculated

My conscience is clean that I'm not putting anyone at risk, when I don't wear a mask. Where did Jesus tell his followers to practice celibacy ?
@SaintCharbelMiracleworker3 жыл бұрын
Matt 19:12 "there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.” Christ also set the example in His own life, He was an unmarried celibate. This is what Western Rite Catholic priests imitate.
@mirrorreflection34793 жыл бұрын
@@SaintCharbelMiracleworker Again that he was not telling people not to get married. Rather if you read the whole context was about marriage and divorce. Living like an eunuch is not the same as saying be an eunuch. It simply meant practice chastity and do not pass the limits of marriage. If this was the sublime state then there would be no children brother. Even you wouldn't be here. Look what Jesus says next 14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there. This means he wanted children to come but you blocking them !!
@SaintCharbelMiracleworker3 жыл бұрын
He is not referring to marriage at all. Read the entire verse, He is referring to those who cannot have children because they are born sterile, then he refers to this who have no choice but to be ceilbate because they were castrated. And then he refers to those who CHOOSE to be celibate for the Kingdom of God and says the one who can accept it should accept it.

I (almost) always appreciate and enjoy your thoughts and commentary on our faith, but I find it disturbing in this episode that I never, once, heard you call out Donald Trump, probably the most amoral president we've ever experienced, but the calling out of Biden just rolls off your tongue, Mr. Sheel. It's irony at it's best when you seemingly attach yourselves to the "political Christianity" that too many of our Bishops appear to ascribe to, in these days! I also heard a lot of this "cancel culture" idea, during your presentation, which is so attached to our secular and political mess right now, that the direction you guys appear to be moving toward, disturbs me. We followers, should ultimately be above and beyond any and all things political. Yes! Jesus says to "go and sin no more" to the woman at the well, but how many of us are able to do this either every time, or for even long stretches of our life, EVEN IF our intention IS to sin no more! How many of us have repeated the same confession again and again in our real attempt to ride ourselves of said sin? In that, "intention" absolutely does matter, Mr. Sheel. As Father Pagano says, when he describes your three journeys, "we are all always continuing the turn" toward living as Christ intended, and that is intention! And intention is what motivates us to move toward the narrow gate; intention is absolutely important, even critical, on our journey! To say, "tolerance is not a Christian virtue", is very misleading, and especially when followed by "forgiveness is a virtue", it becomes even more confusing. While "tolerance" is not a formal virtue, it is required in order to be able to forgive, don't you think? I worry that you fellas have become trapped in the currently very "American version" of our faith, and have moved away from the faith I read and understand, supported by the entirety of the Biblical message, our faith Tradition, the writings of both the Church Father's and the blessed Saints and our Holy Father's views. If I am misunderstanding you, I would appreciate your thoughts on mine.

Trump is not a Catholic, so his relevance to the discussion of receiving communion is not there. If he were Catholic, his multiple divorces would have excluded him anyhow.
@danajudd113 жыл бұрын
That’s it? Trump did claim to be a Christian, didn’t he, and his behavior throughout his entire life ran opposite to Christian values, opposite to the way of Christ. I didn’t and don’t hear the fellas referring to those concerns, even as D.T. continues to mislead countless Christians, both Catholic and Protestant astray! Beyond that, abortion, which Biden has publicly and personally spoken out against, is not the only issue related to living our faith. The political far right and many Christians who have attached themselves to them, like to use it as a singular and simplistic test, regarding one’s connection to God, one’s salvation or one’s worthiness in God’s eyes, but it simply is not that simple. Pope Francis, himself, has made that clear. My concern rests more with this unholy union between a rather radical right political bent and the Faith and the way it seems to be showing itself with the hosts of The Catholic Talk Show.
