14:03 lol such nice detail After the "ear" of the wasp was cut off the butterfly grab his own "ear" Just like he think "oh that hurts" Edit: sorry meant hornet I don't really know the difference 😅

I actually have a LOT to say about this, if you dont mind a long comment. I appreciate the variety of body types used. Appreciated the clear effort in VARIOUS forms of mediums. And I have more specific time stamps I want to talk about; 3:00; forshadowed their relationship, and i REALLY noticed that once i finished watching all of this. 10:50; the use of the butterfly surprised me. I thought he was some character put in for comedic relief, but he genuinely had a goal; to contrast our sunflower warrior. In both attitude, and in bravery it seemed. Excellent touch. 10:53; shipping moment. They're girlfriends now. 14:57; The notion of the Wasp having facial detail in the mask is actually SUPER genius, and it REALLY gives off a vibe of 'this is more creature, vs being one of us'. Though the notion of the mask itself gives the opposite vibe. Sorta a real mulan and the huns vibe. As in, they're both humans, but one side is evil enough to BE human. 16:17;Forshadowing here was BEAUTIFUL? The way it was presented, and the art style used? Loved it. All in? My only criteria is that we get more of this.

@Morningstar Thank you very much for the comment and so happy you like the project! You’ve astutely picked up on the story point I was struggling with the most. Yes, the teacher did send the soldier to guard the worker bee to teach her humility. I’ve tried several ways to communicate this without dialogue but all (other than this one) seem to take too long and hold the progression of the story. The idea of humility is quite abstract and difficult to convey without words in a short time. Probably the most effective way to improve the clarity of this story point is to have the characters talk. This is the plan for the follow up project - to have them all speak English. This will allow for more complex ideas to be communicated in a shorter amount of time. The next story is MUCH MORE complex with regard to the inner working of the samurai beehive and its politics. If you or anyone else would like to support us and help us make this happen - you are welcome to check out our Patreon page and consider one of the many support options: www.patreon.com/SunflowerSoldier

@@ehd543 holy crap that's a long comment. Tell you the truth you actually conveyed it very well through facial cues, I mean I'm not a 3D animator so I couldn't have done it any better. The reason why I explained it was because it took me a minute to pick it up and I know that some people wouldn't pick it up at all so I decided to explain it in the comments. Regarding their patreon I'm a bit strapped for cash right now, but just know that if I had a little bit more spare cash I definitely would contribute to your patreon I really liked this video.

I think what makes this most interesting is while honeybees are portrayed as samurai, the wasps are portrayed as being monstrous, as though they were oni.
@VoidWalkerOblivion3 жыл бұрын
I loved this. The fact that you made sure to give soldier four bands of yellow on her stinger - a Japanese honey bee for a feudal Japanese-influenced hive - is a perfect detail. The amount of effort throughout this entire project really shines through.

Dude I hope it’s continued. The end was a little confusing bc it seems like after fighting that one wasp and learning humility the samurai becomes like the commander of the army??
@ehd5434 жыл бұрын
Thank you! There was a time transition at the end after which the samurai bee looked older and was a commander. You got it exactly right :)
@eli-elk4 жыл бұрын
@@ehd543 I found this transition a bit difficult to understand, too. I got the concept of "time passed" but thought it was a shorter amount and wasn't sure whether it's the same bee. (that's meant as helpful feedback not intending to say you didn't do it right, I'm impressed by what you acchieved!)
@v.3314-t1w3 жыл бұрын
@musicsgirlfriend13 @Eli Elk I agree that it was a bit confusing, the way I interpreted it, she sees the Sunflower Warrior/commander earlier in the film, that one golden warrior standing before the assembled warriors of the hive, and I assume she wanted to be like that warrior when she was the one who charged forward with her sword (it wasn't totally clear) Her commander sent her to guard a pollen collector instead, and that was probably a test to see if she really could ever be that warrior. And, it turns out, she succeeded; this show took place in the past, and in the present, our bee is the new Sunflower Warrior, and the commander of the bees.

LOVED IT. Its a unique piece of short film. I think she was send out to the feild because master realized she was underestimating how hard fighting off enemies in the real world can get. Even though she was really good at fight - trainings inside their colony, when faced with the real life enemy, she was devastated, scared and self doubting.......But when she saw common civilians without any bit of training trying THEIR BEST to fight off the enemy→ well determined even as they KNOW they won't stand a single chance against the hornet, she got inspired from them and got her courage back making her determined to give her BEST SHOT at the enemy thereby defeating it successfully.
