Thanks for posting this. After reading some of the comments, I'd just like to say; this is truly a masterpiece. Please don't change a thing. And as for the fireworks at the end, I look at it as a juxtaposition: war verses peace, love verses hate. One reason why they don't move their ships closer together could be because neither side would allow it. Contravention space treaties, etc.

I agree. Love truly knows no boundaries. Also, the two parties involved in the war on the planet below, the humans and the aliens, were locked in their war and the end scene marked the climax of the war in which both parties destroyed one another. The lovers in space were not responsible for any of those deaths as it was their own leaders who commissioned them to carry out their orders. All the same though, this is a truly wonderful love story. One more thing, I find the alien lady to be rather sexy if you ask me.

I think they were spy satellites. Apparently their 2 species were at war and bombing the shit out of each other. So they had them sent up to orbit around the planet and capture pictures of suspicious enemy activity and call in strikes when needed. Apparently neither of them actually cared about their job though lol

harry Grant Of course it's possible to find an answer that works. It's just that this short was obviously not concerned with continuous logistics. Instead, it focused more on stuff like hope, disappointment, and true purpose. It was unrealistically convenient of the fireworks/ satelites to blow up right at that moment. However, it was convenient, and clearly intended to amplify the goodie-feel of the ending.

The main character destroyed 3 colonies or defense bases of the plant people and by he number of flowers in her pod she has done this many times over. What right does she have to love? If we are to assume the plant people are a peaceful race, what was the flower girl doing in space the whole time? Wouldn't her people just self destruct her pod when they realized she was a traitor? There was no way the flower missile pod was far enough that the main ch could suit up and realistically warp jump in front of the missile and even if that was true, The main character survived a nuclear warhead with an small aircraft that seated one person. How in the crap were the humans losing to plants when they have progressed that far?
