thats probably the reason why they took down some older songs and why they are about to change their band name. with them at ESC its not only their own reputation anymore. and both halves of the band's name are anything but politically correct. :D

Elizabeth, I am so thankful for your channel. I subscribed over a year ago. It was just before Veterans Day. My marriage ended just before the pandemic. A very tough year. I am a Veteran with PTSD and during that time began having panic attacks as I sometime have around Veterans Day. I was in a very dark place. I found your channel accidently looking for the sound of silence by Disturbed. Your passion for music is infectious and your facial expressions of true bliss when beautiful music caresses your soul. This helped me connect with my heart and shined a light in the darkness. I listened to every available video and continue to view every week. I love that you appreciate Nightwish and Sabaton as I have seen them in concert and briefly met Tuomos. I have a huge request for you to review one of my favorite songs about the sacrifice of soldiers and their loved ones. The band is called Xandria from Germany. The song is A thousand letters. The lyrics are the most emotional accurate and haunting of any song themed like this. Thank you so much!

Yes! "Hypa Hypa" is next on the Eskimo Callboy list! Also for another band to experience, one of my personal favorites: AMARANTHE. A Swedish group with 3 different vocalist! Their style is kind of electro-pop metal core and (especially their early stuff) they pull it off really well. If you do check them out, a couple of good ones are "Nexus" and "Invincible."

I normally don't care for "sillier" music but I discoverd Eskimo Callboy on Spotify a few weeks ago and I've been OBSESSED! Pump It and We've Got the Moves are so good! And their harsh vocalist reminds me a lot of Andy (Amaranthe's original harsh vocalist). The music is a lot of fun working out and with video games!

you might want to take a look at "Rock Sugar", they mix 80s pop with metal classics, like "Don't stop the Sandman". Their main singer is also a voice actor, so some of their old stuff sounds like the original singers, but they had to stop that, because he was so good, that someone made a copyright claim, as he couldn't distinguish between his own voice and the Rock Sugar singer.

Yeah! You finally got to the point where you percive harsh Vocals as (emotionally) appealing/affirming/empowering. :D I, as I began to listen to metal music, also had my difficultys by feeling uneasy hearing growling/screaming untill I listened to Eluveiti, where you can relate the screaming to the idea of a celtic warrior describing those intense experiences, wich Made me feel strenghened by the Vocals, not intimidated.

Harsh or distorted vocals (for lack of a better word) still require vocal talent and perhaps even more skill than clean singing (an apples and oranges debate). It may not sound "pleasant", but neither does an animal's roar.

I think the happy synths at the front of the song gets the blood flowing and wakes your brain up, and then when it hears the harsh vocals it ends up pushing out the adrenaline mixed with those other chemicals and its like a turbo boost. Its one of my fav things about digital hardcore/trancecore whatever you want to call it. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas nails this feeling in 90% of their songs

i don't think i've ever commented on one of your videos before despite watching for over a year so hi! with the "scary" chromatic section at the end, i think in the context of the song it works as inspiring because rather than it being a scary "i am being chased by a monster" section the lyrics bring it into the area of "i AM the monster and i am doing the chasing" - it brings a level of power and positivity to the music. there are whole sections of hardcore/metalcore that focus on positive messages like standing up for yourself and others, self improvement etc. i'd put this song into that section too because it's so uplifting and, as you mentioned, inspires people to go to the gym or go for a run etc

Your "Pump you up" gag and faux-German accent was hilarious! Really love the way you and Julia are bringing in fun without it affecting your analysis. As an 80s kid, this was hilarious to watch and the pop side of the music brought back memories of music and movie songs from that period. Great musical, comedic and costuming achievement from Eskimo Callboy (blending two opposite genres in the same song and switching back and forth multiple times).

The Live at Circle Studios Berlin version of this song is a delight, as is the Velvet Remix. These guys mastered contrast between the genres and bridging from one to another. As for drumset: I can actually think of a "safe" way of connecting drum kicks to a threadmill - just an accelerometer, drum kicks connected to small motor on the side and a little programing, so every "tap" on the threadmill is translated into one kick (or multiple) 🤣

You kinda nailed what I've been trying to explain to people about metal music for years. Just because it's got aggressive attitude doesn't mean it's negative. It can be inspirational.

This has no right to be as inspiring as it is. 2.30 in the morning and I want to work out. This reminded me of how good working out every day (or near to) feels. That pump, pushing yourself, trying new physically challenging things; Id forgotten how much I love it. Got slack last few months and other than getting in my daily 10k steps Ive been lucky to do more than 1/2 dozen sets of a few exercises. Inspiration comes in the strangest places.
