Her life story is shattering witch makes her even more superb. She was born may 31st 2003 in far eastern Russia. Father is basically unknown figure. Her biological mother is a troubled creature who had 8 or 12(different info on that) kids and Diana is the only survivor. Diana was abused by her mother and others, for the first three years of her life, than after was dumped at the orphanage. Her "new mother" Irina Ponik was working as a massage therapist at that orphanage and decided to adopt her. At the time of adoption Diana wasn't even speaking. Irina found local vocal school, so they would help Diana learn to speak. Sometime after, teachers noticed her voice and she started to study vocals. Little by little she started to sing at different kids parties, gatherings and things like that. In 2012 family moved to western/central region of Russia city of Tolyatti. In Tolyatti Diana continued her vocal studies at the vocal studio "Melody". In 2016 her mentor Svetlana Vovk and her mother decided to try Diana on Russia "Voice" where she got through preliminary contests and in 2017 got on stage for blind audition of Russia "Voice" with song «Jodel Time» witch in my opinion she nailed it! Unfortunately, my opinion is different from idiotic judges and they did not turn around. She was eliminated from "Voice". In February of 2018 started 2nd season of "You're awesome!" on Russia's NTV tv-channel where Diana performed " Indila's song «Derniere danse». This time all of the judges unanimously picked her.... Everything is going well now and we can enjoy her magnificent voice and tremendous talent.

To add few interesting facts: After all she went trough, one of the judges at the "You're awesome" offered her and her mother a housing in Moscow, so they would stay there and he is promoting her now. The judge is Igor Yakovlevich Krutoy, very famous Russian music composer, performer, producer and musical promoter. All of the costumes/dress made by her mother Irina Ponik out of scratch due to luck of founds. So all of the costumes are actually individualy made for Diana.

One of the reasons she has such control is, due to a very sad, hard early childhood, she had a great deal of trouble talking, stuttering, silence ect. So a worker suggested to her foster parents, to try singing lessons. I believe she started just before her 5 th birthday, and never stopped really. I hope from the bottom of my heart she gets everything she so richly deserves!

Thank you so much for your time and kinds words for Diana. ( I see many comments for you to review Rechenka.) I feel its needed to have some information for this amazing world class performance before you review. As I understand, this is an old Russian ritual song about an orphaned bride. The river was considered the boundary between the world of the living and the dead. The figures behind Diana are spirits of water and forest. She goes to the river and asks for the blessing of marriage. You hear Diana singing in a whisper, these are the words of the deceased mother of the bride. She says, there are many people at home, but there is no father and mother. Then the girl is crying (This is the yodel repeated 4 times.) I believe this interpretation doesn't end well for the Bride. In Russia, weddings sang sad songs to scare away evil and the marriage of a young couple is to be happy. Such songs were called “weeping.” On a side note, Diana was orphaned at a very young age and had a difficult beginning. Its not my story to tell. If you wish, you can research more into her early life. Also, Diana is a master class on vocal techniques at only 14 years old for this performance! So connected! Bravo! Thanks Again.

To your comment about yodeling, I don't know whether she started out Yodeling, but she did yodel (amazingly well, I might add) a lot when younger. Great reaction. I would highly recommend "Yodel Time" (for a display of her yodeling abilities), "Rechenka" (seconding that one, absolutely haunting), "Derniere Dance" (great vocal technique, but also displays what a stage monster she is), and "Human" (her voice sounds the most "odd" in this one). She also does a great version of "Feeling Good" which is more pop/rock than the Angelina Jordan version or original, the version without her playing piano is the better one in my opinion. Her rendition of "It's a Mans World" is also great. Even if you don't do reactions to them you might want to give them a listen. She has a really interesting voice which under the right circumstances is hauntingly beautiful.

Folk russian song about girl orphan which is crying and feeling sadness on the river's bank about nobody can bless her marriage. The River is the board between live people world and would of dead. Diana brought me to you and I liked your reaction so I subscribed. I have been following Diana for some time and even when she sings in Russian you feel the emotion, even if you don't understand the words. It will be fun watching your journey through this young lady's world. I would also like to bring your attention to another young artist you won't be disappointed in. This young lady has vocal control well beyond her years. I am speaking of Angelina Jordan - "The Barefoot Singer With The Velvet Voice And A Mona Lisa Smile". She makes every song her own (she has done her own arrangements since she was 6 yo). She is so hypnotic you forget where your at. Start with "Bohemian Rhapsody" you'll see what I mean.

This is TV Show "You are Super", a musical competition for children from an orphanage (without parents or adopted). Diana won 2nd season in 2018 and won 3rd superseason in 2019 (Grand-Prix as best performer of all seasons). I saw another coach talking about how she does a lot of the vocal "effects" she does. On top of having a very wonderful larynx, she has learned how to move it down with her tongue and you can see it on close ups of her throat. It's sort of the same motion your tongue does in a yawn when it pushes the larynx way down. She just knows how to keep it there. Other singers like Shakira and Cher do this a lot too, but Diana has moved the control to a whole new level. She was on "The Masked Singer". You can tell it's her, but she can flip that very low tone she uses on and off like a switch.

In this video she is 14 years old, like Dimash she has been having voice coaching from age 5. She is incredible, and has great presence even at such a young age, and yes a very rare and gorgeous contralto voice but able to go up into her higher register. Diana has a "black belt" in vocals! This is a vocal contest of the Russian NTV channel for children with a difficult fate. The competition is called "You are super!". Diana won it at age 14. This year, the channel announced the Super Season of the contest, she participated in it for the second time and won the Grand Prix. In the contest "You are super!" judges do not sit with their backs to the singers. They look at the artist and press the button if they agree to see the singer in the next step. The button can only be pressed while a song is playing. In Russia there is a competition "Voice". And "Voice. Children." And even "Voice. 60+" - for the elderly. These contests go on the air of the First Federal TV Channel. There is a contest "New Star" on the channel "Star". There is a contest "Come on, all together" on the TV channel "Russia". Her birth mother treated her badly and tried to get rid of her. Diana went to an orphanage and didn't talk. Diana was taken to a speech therapist at the age of 5, who advised her to take devrchka to singing lessons to remove her psychological barrier and develop her speech apparatus... Since then, Diana has been singing! And looking at her children's performances, you know that she is an amazing artist and a future star!🌟 Thank you to her foster mother for her love and great work in raising beautiful daughters! Diana has won many competitions. And twice won on the TV show You are Super, where orphans and children with a difficult fate compete. Although I am not a KZbinr, I am a musician and singer. Once in a moon you hear and see something or someone who goes beyond the realms of awesome. Diana is that person. Her Contralto and her vibratos are mesmerizing and beautiful as is she. I have heard she has a unique story which I will look up and read about. For now, I would just say I had the same spellbound reaction to her voice, stage performance and her expression over the lyrics. No doubt she was born for stage regardless of whatever the world may have thrown at her. I will just say BRAVO DIANA, and thank you for posting and reacting to this incredibly talented young lady. She is a true star and master of her art and every song she sings she pours herself fully into it! Astonishing!!!!! Just watched your headphonres. I've got the DT 700 ProX. These headphones sounds crazy. ANd just found out anoter thing: Russian composer, Igor Krutoy, Dimash's mentor, waited to push the button until there was a break in her vocal because he didn't want to cause a distraction while she was singing. He also became a mentor to her later on. The dude knows talent when he sees it.

Then for fun check out Diana's cover of Oh Darling she only 10yrs old she so good and so so cute it's just a pleasure to see . Also I don't know if you ever heard of Angelina Jordan . This is one of my absolute favorite songs in the whole world... and she performed it in a way that I've never heard before and it. was. phenomenal!!!
