The programme goes to a different town each time. 5 complete strangers take turns to cook a meal in their homes over 5 days, with a dress theme and often entertainment, and the others score them. The winner gets £1000. The mix of personalities is interesting. Some groups become good friends, others just don't get on. There is a narrator, who is very funny. Sometimes there will be a "Celebrity come dine me", and the winnings go to charity. Great fun.
