Sorry but including myself, there were several fans screaming for OL upgrades. TJ was injury prone, only gd single addition was DW, all knew with injuries we would be having serious issues since JF draft. Good teams have solid trenches, builds from inside out. You guys should do a grading on every Poles changes including drafts, trades, etc. You will be surprised how low avg score comes out, not to mention the bad coach picks, and losing focus of OL rebuild. Score will speak for itself on his future.

I like you guys at CHGO but this podcast was hard to listen to. The reasoning behind some of the opinions expressed was at best incoherent. For example, Herb doesn't think Poles should be fired because he and most all Bears fans were optomistic about the roster at the begining of the season? How does that make any sense? Poles, Herb and most all Bear fans (including myself) were wrong about this roster. But only Poles is tasked with and being finacially compensated for building a strong roster. You can't fire the fans man. Poles has access to player info we don't. He is supposed to know better. At least that was the expectation when he was hired. Another thing that caught my ear was when Herb said that the hype around Caleb before he was drafted was, "he was going to get the ball out so much faster than Justin". Herb must have listened to and read different draft analysis than I because that was the opposite of what I gathered. I remember reading multiple draft experts say that one of Caleb's few weaknesses was he would hold onto the ball to long hunting home run balls. Finally, Carm. That take on Caleb's comments regarding the booing was ridiculous. He isn't positioning himself against the fans. The fans are absolutely booing the last 10 years of Bears football. It's cummulative. Yes, 12 wins and all is forgiven. But until we win a post season game, it all seems like one long horrible season.

I honestly think he's not allowed to do his job. Like he wanted to fire eberflus but they didn't let. He said if he knew if it would be like this he wouldn't have taken the job. Odunze was a hype pick for money that was pushed by corporate. That's my theory. Because I agree, I thought he would go O line at #9 or trade down for a LT and center.

It's very simple. The two longest losing streaks in club history in three years. Everyone has been talking about how poor the offensive line has been since week 1. You drafted a QB with your top draft pick, you didn't enable him to be successful. The head coach went through coaches like they were out of style. Poles needs to go.

His PFF scores support this opinion as he is always ranked in the bottom third of Linebackers. Also, what's the infatuation with tyrique stevenson? Like some have said, I think Poles has to go too. I would have never thought that even 4-5 weeks ago. Change everyone. I don’t want a first time GM unless it’s a guy that Ben Johnson, Pete Carroll, or Mike Vrabel wants. If not, I think Rick Spielman would be a great choice. He consistently had Minnesota in the hint during his tenure. He would have his quarterback. That’s an easy one for me.

Cole easily a top 10 tight end. Defensive backfield arguably top 10 if not top five and talent. FB was great. LBs average. DL well below average OL horrible. Poles neglected the foundation.... OL and DL

@ So if you look at history, Detroit with Dan Campbell and their GM weren’t good for a bit, instead of being the typical Lions and Bears, they kept their folks and left then correct their mistakes. All of us would be fired left and right if folks got emotional and just fired someone whenever a mistake happened. In the beginning of the year, no one was saying the roster is trash. We all had high energy that the team would be good. Sometimes, it’s just the player to blame and not the GM. It’s Poles fault that Stevenson didn’t do his job against Washington? These are grow men, if we don’t keep the players accountable, then they themselves won’t like they’ve been doing all year!!!

Isn't it basic NFL success formula that you build through the trenches? Like, you build a team starting with the lines. I like the secondary, overall. Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, and Brisker are all good players. But even the best secondary in the league can't cover for 7 seconds. The success of a Cover 2 defense is reliant on a front 4. I don't even know if we have a front 1.

Hey fellas, love the podcast and everything you guys do. Quick question for ya. The stat on how fast Caleb is getting the ball out is very intriguing. I understand that's something that still needs to improve. However, is there any chance chance the miserable state of our OL contributes to that? Seems like he struggles to keep his eyes down field and move through progressions quickly because he's almost immediately under fire, especially from that left side of the OL. And if so, could him taking responsibility (while at the same time not seeming to "improve" on the mistakes he admits to) be a way of protecting the reputation of his teammates, specifically the OL? Obviously this doesn't apply to every poor or delayed decision when he's playing. But could it still be a factor? Preciate your time guys and look forward to future episodes.

I'm with Herb H. The hiring of Flus is definitely not on Poles, it is like a forced or coerced "choice" choice at worst-at least that's what it seemed like to me thinking logically. George, as much as he wants us to think that his hands are clean is the biggest subterfuge in the whole cycle of dysfunction. He and he alone is the only remaining constant in all the critical decisions being made. Poles just seemed to have been caught in power grab play by Warren. I also agree with Poles being responsible for a bad OL roster, bad trades, bad sigings of FA, hanging on to players 1 year too long and partially holding on to Flus but then again, I believe just like Herb H is saying that George have a lot of influence in that decision as well. Now we are hearing all this HITS on Poles' ability to manage the team because he is the default gate valve of keeping the blame from reaching where it truly belongs, George! In the end, Poles took the money, the job and all the responsibility and blame that comes with that transaction with the McCaskey. He should have walked away and kept his dignity but who are we kidding here, the money, power and addiction to the NFL is too great to deny.
