What a lovely set! Just as an aside, our four cats range in age from three to sixteen and we still always have toys all over the floor. Haven't ever convinced a kitty to pick up the toys and put them back in the baskets So before guests come over we do what we call the "Field Mice Bop" in which we scurry around the house scooping up all the mouse toys (yes, that was a reference to Little Bunny Foo Foo). They do, of course, have great fun pulling the toys back out of the baskets and strewing them about the house after guests leave . Enjoy your babies!

When I buy a new iron, my main goal is to get the longest cord. That extra foot matters when you are ironing a giant quilt top :) my favorite part of kittens is the day they get too heavy to defy gravity while running up your leg and they dig in with those kitten claws. In my experience, it was usually during shorts season :( Smashing outfit! I hope you get to wear it somewhere fun 🤞🤞🤞

I love the story of the kittens. Long ago, my mother's dog died. A month later, my mother told me that the house was too quiet. We found a puppy that needed a home from a breeder (note I now adopt rescues only, but not then). We visited the puppy and agreed to take her. A few days, the breeder called to mention another puppy, a half-sister of the first. My mother wanted to go see her; all the way there we talked about how she shouldn't adopt 2 dogs. Well, one look at this new puppy, after she was placed in my mother's lap, Mama said, "of course, we want her". and that was that. I wish you all the best with the new babies. Wonderful!

Very cute set. I'd wear that in black on black rose print in a second. Completely understand about photos of your babies. I lost mine 7 months and 1 day apart from each other - first my kitty 4 June, 2020 and then my doggy 5 January, 2021. Absolutely destroyed me and I still cry for them. Looking at their photos is incredibly difficult and I often just can't. I can't imagine having more babies because I know I can't handle that loss again. I'm so glad you were able to take your 3 precious kitties in and love them.

You were speaking about your kittens, and, your past cats, I got a little sad but my hero of cat town the cat we call Jayne was sleeping next to me. I started petting him and he became the little needy man who wanted all the pets, and wasn’t afraid to head butt me to get them. It became an impromptu cuddle time with my adult cat. Who has been feeling a little neglected since the kitten that appeared into the backyard became the 3rd cat in our house. Beautiful set. I must rewatch because I was distracted by Jayne for more than half. Enjoy your kitten time.

We had a kitten pass recently, the first my son has been old enough to consider and I was a wreck trying to discuss death in an age appropriate way while crying because I loved that little dude. I've always been surrounded by cats and it never gets any easier. We settled on snuggling the kitties who are still here when we feel sad about the one we miss, so the original love can grow and be shared.

I, too, purchased a CHI iron and shortly after I started using it, it started to leak when it was sitting unused. I watched the video by Just Get It Done Quilts on "8 Ways to Prevent Water Leaking From Your Steam Iron". After following her suggestions, my iron no longer leaks! Congrat on new kitties. I did a similar situation, lost my two female maltese within one year, they lived little more than 16 years. I had said I was not going to get another puppy, because my heart has been so broken. There is a fabulous breeder near me in Knightsen, CA, Richelieu Maltese and hubby and I have a little boy this time, soon to be one year old. We named him "Fred", to honor our late son who loved that name! I know how much fun kitties can be. Son adopted 2 baby siamese and shortly after got a female Vizsla and their hearts are happy. Their cats have their own instagram. I loved the very bright purple rayon print, think I am going to have to create one too. You are so talented. Thanks so much for all your videos.

Ha! I've literally been working on drafting one of these and just cut out the mock-up / the lining if it works. I didn't draft it quite the same way -- I left in the side bust dart when adding the all in one sleeve (per the tutorial on your blog and also since I saw that on some mid-century patterns) but rotated the waist dart into the tie. I also pointed the tie upward, because that seemed right to have the knot cover the center of my bra, so it was reassuring to see you did the same thing. I didn't cut off any length, since I'm so short-waisted that my waist is basically right under my bust anyway, so the only "cropping" will just be the seam allowance. I'm also lining it because I'm using a quite thin Indian print cotton fabric. We'll see how it comes out!

As an aside, after showing my 1980s skirt video to my parents I showed them your *Cicada Gown Day Bodice* video and they were duly impressed (and kind of want to watch *Crimson Peak* now lol).
